"Before coming to Hongcun, I didn't have high expectations, thinking it would just be another old village to visit and leave. However, my stay at 'Hongcun Yike Homestay' made me feel that every detail of this trip radiated warmth. Upon arriving at Hongcun bus station, I was unfamiliar with the area and was stressing about how to drag my luggage across the stone-paved paths to the homestay while looking at a map. The moment I called, the owner's enthusiastic voice immediately put me at ease: 'Wait there, I'll be right over to pick you up!' In less than ten minutes, the owner appeared on an electric scooter, swiftly tied my luggage to the vehicle, and cheerfully motioned for me to hop on. We weaved through Hongcun's winding alleys and past bustling crowds of tourists. The homestay was tucked away in a quiet lane near Moon Pond, an excellent location. You could see Moon Pond just around the corner, yet it was peaceful and quiet – truly an oasis of calm amidst the hustle and bustle. Stepping into the courtyard, I was captivated by this homestay, a renovated Huizhou-style building. The exquisitely carved porch, wooden corridors, and rustic private courtyard exuded the unique elegance and serenity characteristic of Huizhou homes. Inside the room, it was bright and clean. The antique-style wooden bed paired with a soft mattress offered both classic charm and comfort. The night was exceptionally quiet, and I slept soundly. Early the next morning, I opened the window to a beautiful view of the Huizhou-style horse-head walls in the morning light, distant mountains draped in lush greenery, and the nearby sounds of birdsong and fragrant flowers. It truly felt like living inside a traditional Chinese ink wash painting. On the day of my departure, the owner drove me to the bus station as usual, reminding me of other places I hadn't visited in Hongcun along the way. Before saying goodbye, the owner pulled out a packet of chrysanthemum tea from the trunk, handed it to me, and smiled, saying, 'This is our local chrysanthemum tea, take it home and try it.' Holding that packet of tea, my heart felt warm. Staying here truly felt like returning to an old friend's home in Huizhou, thoughtful and considerate in every way. 'Yike Homestay' truly lives up to its name – making one feel 'at ease' (逸) and so content that guests (客) forget to leave. Next time I'm in Hongcun, I'll definitely stay here again."

"We felt incredibly fortunate to stay at Danyuan Boutique Inn. The host was very welcoming and took extra care with everything. We had great conversations, and even though we had to use translation apps, we felt like friends after just one day. His wife cooked a wonderful dinner and breakfast for us of local cuisine - it was a unique and authentic experience. "Amazing place - modern room and amenities inside an ancient home. Clean and comfy beds, renovated, gleaming bathroom. Owner and staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and accommodating; don’t hesitate to ask them for help getting around the area (including to Huangshan and to train stations) and seeing the sights. Also don’t miss out on their restaurant, located in the back of their main office — great environment, delicious food. Overall, highly recommend; would return!"

Its location is absolutely superb, within walking distance of all the popular photo spots, making it super easy to plan your sightseeing. The courtyard is elegant and spotless, and the guest rooms are even cleaner and tidier. The attention to detail in cleanliness is truly impressive; there's no clutter or stains anywhere. It's an old house conversion that beautifully preserves its ancient charm while maintaining excellent living standards. My stay here was a perfect experience!"

"What a pleasant surprise! This hotel is super easy to find, right by the main road. Plus, it's just a 5-minute walk to Hongcun Ancient Village, which is incredibly convenient. They have a beautiful garden on the 5th-floor rooftop – perfect for photos, both the scenery and people turn out great! Friendly tip: If you're visiting both Hongcun and Xidi ancient villages, make sure to buy the joint ticket. It allows unlimited entries within three days. Oh, and I highly recommend checking out Bishan Village too; it's a wonderful place to explore at your own pace and full of delightful surprises."

"The landlady was efficient, sincere, and enthusiastic, providing excellent service. She always responded quickly to our calls and even proactively went to buy our tickets. The guesthouse's restaurant looked new and was beautifully decorated in a modern Chinese style. The landlady is a good cook; even with a limited menu, she managed to prepare three dishes to suit our tastes. Her noodle soup for breakfast was delicious! The room was smaller than we expected, with limited usable space. Because of a raised platform on the first floor, there wasn't much room to unfold our suitcases. The bathroom lacked shelves for toiletries, which was inconvenient. The guesthouse is located on the edge of the scenic area, surrounded by residential houses and guesthouses, making it quite quiet at night. The scary thing was the neighbor's dog; it barked incessantly every time we passed by, even chasing us, which was quite frightening. This was the most convenient and direct route from the guesthouse into the scenic area, making it difficult to avoid."

"I deliberately avoided the holiday rush and visited Hongcun during the off-season. This guesthouse far exceeded my expectations! As a guesthouse located within the scenic area, its location is absolutely perfect. Step outside and you're immediately immersed in the ancient charm and daily life of Hongcun. No need to rush; you can leisurely wander through the ancient village and enjoy the scenery of Nanhu Lake, feeling utterly relaxed and at ease. What truly captivated me was the guesthouse's Huizhou-style courtyard. The white walls and black tiles, complemented by the lush greenery in the courtyard, exude a profound sense of antiquity. Sitting idly in the courtyard, listening to the surrounding bird songs, was incredibly therapeutic. The owner was exceptionally honest, informing me that parking in their exclusive lot is free during the off-season (excluding holidays), so self-driving guests don't have to worry about parking at all. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was fresh, and while the facilities weren't luxurious, they were perfectly adequate, making it incredible value for money. The owner even thoughtfully shared some less-traveled routes for exploring Hongcun, allowing us to avoid crowds while capturing stunning scenery. Overall, the stay was comfortable, travel was convenient, and the service was attentive—perfect for visitors who want to slowly explore Hongcun. Located right in the heart of the scenic area, it offers exceptional value for money. The quiet and comfortable living environment, attentive service, and convenient parking facilities are all impeccable. It's perfectly suited for both solo travelers seeking peace of mind and those traveling with companions. Next time I visit Hongcun, I will definitely choose this guesthouse again. I wholeheartedly recommend it to all travelers!"

"Overnight in Hongcun, half mountain and half water ✔ I booked this hotel while visiting Hongcun. I arrived at the scenic area at 6 PM. The hostess came with a cart to pick up my luggage. The entrance to the B&B is decorated in the Huizhou style. We booked a duplex on a last-minute basis; my friend prefers older buildings. We made do with it for one night. The highlight of this place is the terrace. From the top, you can enjoy the entire Hongcun nightscape. For the price, this hotel is quite good, and I'll also review it on the reviews page."

"The small loft room was cozy, comfortable, and very clean. The owner was super thoughtful, calling ahead to offer a pickup from the scenic area entrance. I had a big suitcase, which would have been hard to drag around inside the scenic area, so the owner brought a small trolley to help me get it to the hotel. They also helped me pull it out of the scenic area when I left. Highly recommended!"
