"Before coming to Hongcun, I didn't have high expectations, thinking it would just be another old village to visit and leave. However, my stay at 'Hongcun Yike Homestay' made me feel that every detail of this trip radiated warmth. Upon arriving at Hongcun bus station, I was unfamiliar with the area and was stressing about how to drag my luggage across the stone-paved paths to the homestay while looking at a map. The moment I called, the owner's enthusiastic voice immediately put me at ease: 'Wait there, I'll be right over to pick you up!' In less than ten minutes, the owner appeared on an electric scooter, swiftly tied my luggage to the vehicle, and cheerfully motioned for me to hop on. We weaved through Hongcun's winding alleys and past bustling crowds of tourists. The homestay was tucked away in a quiet lane near Moon Pond, an excellent location. You could see Moon Pond just around the corner, yet it was peaceful and quiet – truly an oasis of calm amidst the hustle and bustle. Stepping into the courtyard, I was captivated by this homestay, a renovated Huizhou-style building. The exquisitely carved porch, wooden corridors, and rustic private courtyard exuded the unique elegance and serenity characteristic of Huizhou homes. Inside the room, it was bright and clean. The antique-style wooden bed paired with a soft mattress offered both classic charm and comfort. The night was exceptionally quiet, and I slept soundly. Early the next morning, I opened the window to a beautiful view of the Huizhou-style horse-head walls in the morning light, distant mountains draped in lush greenery, and the nearby sounds of birdsong and fragrant flowers. It truly felt like living inside a traditional Chinese ink wash painting. On the day of my departure, the owner drove me to the bus station as usual, reminding me of other places I hadn't visited in Hongcun along the way. Before saying goodbye, the owner pulled out a packet of chrysanthemum tea from the trunk, handed it to me, and smiled, saying, 'This is our local chrysanthemum tea, take it home and try it.' Holding that packet of tea, my heart felt warm. Staying here truly felt like returning to an old friend's home in Huizhou, thoughtful and considerate in every way. 'Yike Homestay' truly lives up to its name – making one feel 'at ease' (逸) and so content that guests (客) forget to leave. Next time I'm in Hongcun, I'll definitely stay here again."

"We felt incredibly fortunate to stay at Danyuan Boutique Inn. The host was very welcoming and took extra care with everything. We had great conversations, and even though we had to use translation apps, we felt like friends after just one day. His wife cooked a wonderful dinner and breakfast for us of local cuisine - it was a unique and authentic experience. This was our favourite place to stay throughout our extensive travel through China! I strongly recommend to everyone: Chinese and international travellers. Thank you!"

"Now that I have some free time, I can finally talk about my favorite part of this trip. I initially thought it would just be an ordinary guesthouse, but it was full of surprises. The owner has great artistic taste, the decor was meticulously arranged, and he was incredibly helpful, even guiding our car to the parking lot. The grandmother we met at the guesthouse was also very kind, thoughtfully asking if we were cold, which made us feel very warm. The room was fully equipped, with everything you'd expect from a mid-to-high-end hotel—clean, tidy, and hygienic, making us feel very safe and secure. The owner was also very warm and friendly, treating everyone with kindness yet maintaining a perfect balance of distance. I highly recommend everyone to experience it. My child kept talking about the guesthouse owner after returning to the room, wanting to play with him without being afraid at all. Full of thoughtful details, the experience was fantastic!"

"Amazing place - modern room and amenities inside an ancient home. Clean and comfy beds, renovated, gleaming bathroom. Owner and staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and accommodating; don’t hesitate to ask them for help getting around the area (including to Huangshan and to train stations) and seeing the sights. Also don’t miss out on their restaurant, located in the back of their main office — great environment, delicious food. Overall, highly recommend; would return!"

"A good sleep is very important when traveling. Only by having a good rest can you have a good time. The room is easy to sleep in, the soundproofing is good, the location is good, and the transportation is convenient. There are many barbecue restaurants nearby for late night snacks. It is very convenient to visit the ancient city right at the entrance of the ancient city. And when you arrive, the boss will come out to pick you up and help you carry your luggage with one hand👍🏻There are two dogs in the yard, Biga and Fifty, who are both invincible and cute. "This guesthouse is a must-stay when visiting Hongcun to see the Huizhou-style architecture. Its location is absolutely superb, within walking distance of all the popular photo spots, making it super easy to plan your sightseeing. The courtyard is elegant and spotless, and the guest rooms are even cleaner and tidier. The attention to detail in cleanliness is truly impressive; there's no clutter or stains anywhere. It's an old house conversion that beautifully preserves its ancient charm while maintaining excellent living standards. My stay here was a perfect experience!"

"The hosts tried to get in touch with me before I checked in but I couldn’t receive due to not having a local number. The hosts will very kindly arrange a pickup/drop off for you as the homestay is located outside of the key scenic area so definitely try to get in touch with them before your arrival (or else, expect to walk about 15 minutes from the main bus station - it’s not too bad honestly) The hosts were super kind and the lady boss was so nice to invite me to her tea shop in the main village to drink some tea before driving me back. The room was quiet and amenities were super great! Highly recommend if you like a quiet space."

"This stay was absolutely fantastic! The hotel's location is perfect; it's super convenient for both nearby attractions and finding great food. The room was clean and cozy, and the bedding was so comfortable that I fell asleep the moment I hit the pillow. The bathroom was also completely odor-free. The front desk staff were warm and attentive, check-in was lightning fast, and they even thoughtfully recommended some fun places to visit nearby. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options, all nutritious and delicious. The value for money is outstanding, and I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in the area!"

Service: We came from Huangshan Scenic Area, so we called the boss in advance. The boss helped me arrange a carpool, thirty-one people, and the car was delivered to the Ximen parking lot. "Years ago, I had a bad experience staying at a B&B, but my stay at Xidi Wulu Homestay last night completely changed my negative impression. According to the proprietress, all the rooms here are from her family's ancestral home, which is over two hundred years old. It perfectly blends the rustic charm of Huizhou architecture with modern conveniences, creating a warm, comfortable, yet stylish and elegant atmosphere. The proprietress was incredibly warm and attentive, and her sour bamboo shoot noodle soup was absolutely amazing. Before we left, she even gave us a souvenir – talk about excellent hospitality! I will definitely be back next time!"
