"I was so lucky to book this B&B by South Lake; it's really popular, I saw it was fully booked on the day I checked in. There's no coffee at breakfast, but the self-service coffee machine in the lobby pretty much solved that. The welcome gift included shaobing (sesame flatbread), tremella soup, and black sesame crisps. The housekeeper auntie provided excellent service! She was always responsive, making it feel just like home. There's also a two-month-old Bichon named 'Kaixin' (Happy) at the property, and she's super well-behaved."

"For my 2-day, 1-night trip to Hongcun, I chose Xiyunpan Yue, which is perfectly situated in the core of Hongcun, right on the bank of Moon Pond. This hotel is right next to Moon Pond, so you can step out and enjoy its beauty at any time. I found myself coming out every hour because the scenery changed continuously with the different times of day and weather.
During my two days in Hongcun, I was lucky enough to have fantastic weather – clear blue skies, white clouds, and stunning reflections on the lake. Everything was so beautiful, and every photo I took looked like it belonged in a magazine. So, a tip for everyone: be sure to check the weather forecast before you go.
Hongcun's scenery is gorgeous, and the hotel was excellent; everything was just perfect. The hotel staff even arranged pick-up and drop-off at the West Gate, so you can book with confidence!"

"After descending Huangshan, I came to Hongcun to stay for one night. The proprietress contacted me in advance to inquire about the situation and helped me to arrange a carpooling. The driver said that this homestay is pretty good in this area. After checking in, I was not disappointed. The boss helped me carry my luggage into the room. The room was clean and bright, with welcome fruits and snacks. The toilet had a flush function, the toiletries were complete, the bedding was comfortable, and there was a bathrobe. The slippers are super thick, the same thickness as the ones I stayed in at a five-star resort hotel before! This is so thoughtful😊This time I specially booked a room with a bathtub. The price is very cost-effective with a bathtub. Taking a bath can effectively relieve fatigue. My boss heated up breakfast for me in the morning, which was light and nutritious. "The public areas are particularly impressive. There's a dedicated movie viewing area, roasted sweet potatoes, a free Hanfu (traditional Han clothing) changing area, and a workspace. Breakfast is also available on the third-floor balcony.
This breakfast was one of the best I've ever had. While the selection wasn't extensive, the taste was excellent. The soy milk was delicious, and they also offered freshly made wontons or bamboo shoot noodles.
The third-floor terrace had a fantastic view; you could see the waters of Qishu Lake.
During my stay, they even offered white fungus and pear soup. On the day we left, it was so crowded we couldn't get a taxi, and the owner personally took us to the station.
Overall, the hotel's decor is aesthetically pleasing. The public areas are large and spacious, the rooms are clean, and the bedding is nice and comfortable. Our family room had a view of a bamboo forest, giving us a feeling of being close to nature. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends or choose it again for my next stay."

"Tachuan's autumn was made even more beautiful by this guesthouse. I searched on Ctrip for a long time, worried about hygiene issues, but this guesthouse really paid attention to details and was very clean. The moment I opened the door, the automatic welcoming ceremony from 'Xiao Ai' (smart speaker) was very touching. It's right at the entrance of Hongcun and the price is excellent value for money. The proprietress is very kind, and the young man who checked me in, Manager Xiao Wang, was extremely helpful with excellent service. From picking me up at the station to helping me find a car for my travels, he saved me the anxiety and exhaustion of not having a car in Hongcun. The prices were also reasonable. Anyone worried about drivers getting upset in Hongcun can completely entrust their needs to him. At the village entrance, he even used a small electric cart to help with my luggage. There are Hello e-bikes nearby, so you can go to Lucun early in the morning to watch the sunrise. Thank you for providing such a 'utopia' after my busy work. The hygiene was indeed top-notch!"

"Highly recommended B&B! The location is wonderfully secluded, and the rooms are cozy and tastefully decorated in a Japanese style. The courtyard is very thoughtfully designed; every photo you take turns out beautifully. Most of the staff are *******, and they are incredibly warm and welcoming. Having just returned from a trip to Tibet this year, I felt an instant connection 🥰.
I especially have to mention the B&B's dinner. We originally planned to eat in Hongcun but couldn't find a restaurant we liked, so we decided to head back to the B&B (they even offer shuttle service to Hongcun!). We pre-ordered our meal with the manager, so it was ready when we got back. We ordered stinky mandarin fish, free-range chicken soup, and stir-fried eggs with stone ear fungus. Every dish was made with super fresh ingredients and tasted absolutely amazing, especially the chicken soup. It was definitely made with free-range chicken, something you just can't find in Shanghai – so delicious! The portions were generous too; we couldn't finish it all. The manager even suggested saving the rest for chicken noodle soup the next morning. Wow, such thoughtful service! They also gave us a parting gift when we left. I love the atmosphere here and every single staff member. If you're coming to Tachuan, choose to stay here – you definitely won't regret it!"

GGuest UserThe hotel boasts a modern Chinese-style decor, with simple yet elegant rooms, new and smart facilities, clean and comfortable bedding, and a quiet, well-insulated room for a good night's sleep. The hotel's service and management are excellent, combining standardized management with a warm, home-like feel. It's conveniently located just a few minutes' walk from the west gate of Hongcun Village and also close to Lucun Village. We got up around 6 am to go to Hongcun, returned to the hotel at 8:30 am for breakfast (a wide variety of options), rested in our room for a while, and then went to Lucun Village – it was incredibly convenient. Upon departure, the hotel gave us Huangshan sesame seed cakes as a souvenir, which touched us deeply and gave us a great start to our journey!

The children were very surprised and kept asking if they could continue to stay here tomorrow? ! The room is consistent with the picture of the reservation. GGuest UserAfter a few days of exploring Huangshan, we returned to the hotel. It's a 5-6 minute walk to the main scenic area of Hongcun, so there's no need to rush around with luggage.
The spacious living room features a tea table, a rockery, and a boat – sitting there and daydreaming feels like stepping into a painting. The biggest surprise was the fully automated guest room controls; lighting and curtains were managed with a single touch, and the smart toilet was incredibly convenient. Every detail reflects the thoughtful touches of a high-end hotel.
The shared facilities were top-notch: a bright and clean laundry room ensured clothes were always fresh, the rooftop infinity pool offered panoramic mountain views, and there was a fully equipped gym where you could relax and rejuvenate after a long day of sightseeing.

The B&B is built from an old house, with green plants, flowers, flowing water and koi, and the design is very clever. The food is good, the auntie cooks delicious dishes, and the most valuable thing is that all the ingredients are green food grown by herself.
The room is clean and tidy, and the proprietress is capable and enthusiastic, and she is always responsive. It rained on the day of arrival, and the proprietress drove to pick us up in person and introduced the scenery along the way.
It is very comfortable for children to live here, perfectly avoiding the noisy crowds on May Day. It is also good to stroll around the surrounding villages, where you can watch tea picking, catch butterflies, and touch stream fish.

Hotel manager was very communicative, but you need to have WeChat. They can communicate in English by message with you.
The rooms were stunning, service was excellent and the communal areas were beautiful and comfortable.
Hotel breakfast was freshly made and they were able to accommodate our requests.
Some of the rooms require ascending steep stairs, so if you have accessibility needs it would be best to inform the hotel in advance. Bedrooms are comfortable and cosy. The addition of the tea ceremony area is brilliant. The mattresses and bedding were clean and comfortable. Bathrooms were clean with good pressure hot water.
The hotel also put us in touch with a honest and reliable driver that we used for transfers from the bullet train station as well as a trip to Huang Shan (yellow mountain).

This meant our stay was quiet for restful night, while we could still get to enjoy the spots in peace before day trip tourists flock in.:) Host provided free buggy shuttle from the main South gate to his homestay.
As it was off peak season, we had free room upgrade & I got a large triple sharing room with spacious bathroom. Love that the floor is heated so we could stay warm throughout. The only grouse is I find the room lighting a bit too dim, but maybe they just wanted to evoke romantic ambience. 😁
Overall, it was a great stay in this ancient village.

XXiaomiaomaThe service attitude is very good. The guy at the hotel front desk will call in advance to pick us up from the parking lot. He will take our luggage with us to the entrance of the ancient village on an electric bicycle. The room is on the first floor. It is very clean and spacious. There is a swing in the yard, which makes it feel very cozy. You also get snacks and free mineral water when you check in. The location is particularly good. After walking a few dozen meters, we arrived at the big banyan tree at the entrance of the village. It was a quiet place amidst the hustle and bustle. There were also some B&Bs around, but when I passed by, I felt that the yard of this one was the most beautiful.

AAnonymous UserStaying in this hotel was a pleasant surprise, because the hotel we booked before did not allow dogs, so we temporarily changed to this newly opened B&B. The decoration was very new, as if it had just opened. The hotel environment was very comfortable. There were pigeons in the yard, and those who like small animals can pet the cats and dogs. Our dog had a lot of fun playing in the yard. There are chickens and geese in the backyard. It is said that the eggs we eat for breakfast every day come from here. I also got a new experience in life
Great Sound - Singing Bowl Therapy. I had only heard about it before, but this time I experienced it myself. What can I say? It's just comfortable, a kind of comfort that can only be felt but not expressed in words. The therapist said that everyone's feelings are different. There is also a glass room studio in the hotel where you can paint. Anyway, it was a very fulfilling stay experience. The most important butler service is very thoughtful, and I would like to commend it here.

CCaotianbaochenjinjinjinFacilities: Our family stayed in three rooms, all with underfloor heating. However, when there were a lot of people, one room's heating was unstable. The housekeeper did his best to help resolve the issue late at night.
Cleanliness: The house is a bit old, but the cleaning was good. The kitchen was also quite clean.
Environment: Located in the Mukeng Bamboo Sea Scenic Area, the environment is excellent and the air is fresh.
Service: The hostess was very welcoming and upgraded us to a family room. The room was excellent. The housekeeper was also very helpful. New drivers should be cautious when entering the hotel, as the roads are narrow enough for one car only.
