"I couldn’t say enough about how good my stay in Xidi was. The hostel has such a special atmosphere that you can’t help but relax. It’s just a few minutes’ walk from the center of town, and the girls from the staff are so nice and attentive. I didn’t want to leave! Besides the lovely place where the hostel is located, the touristic part of Xidi is just amazing—it feels like the whole area is one huge artwork - just go and see it for yourself!
Notes:
The place isn’t difficult to find if you have a map on your phone, but be careful with the ditches if you arrive at night: although they’re illuminated, they have no railings.
The 10-bed room doesn’t have a toilet, only a latrine.

"We were traveling in Yixian County and arrived late, so we stayed overnight near the high-speed rail station. Yanli Meisu was the closest place. The location was easy to find; the landlady was even there to greet us at the door, worried we wouldn't be able to find it, and gave our child a bag of pastries as soon as she saw them. If you have luggage, you can contact the landlady for a pick-up and drop-off. The rooms were new, and there was an elevator to the guesthouse. We woke up to find the courtyard beautifully decorated. Yixian County has a lot to offer, and the high-speed rail and public transportation are very convenient. We'll definitely come back!"

"Very beautiful and cozy environment, a bit like a small courtyard. I especially like the yard of this homestay. It is very comfortable for taking a walk and playing with children. The room is also large, transparent and clean. It is very quiet at night and allows people to have a good sleep. In the morning, the proprietress will make egg noodles for breakfast. "Zhuguangli Inn was a real surprise on my trip to Xidi! First, the location is incredibly convenient, right next to Xidi Parking Lot 7, just a few minutes' walk away, making it a breeze to lug luggage, perfect for self-driving travelers. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and the owner's attention to detail shines through: the bedding is comfortable, the bathroom amenities are impeccable, including a smart toilet, and the shower water pressure is stable and hot quickly. The inn also includes reputable, brand-name toiletries—a truly thoughtful touch. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming. He added me on WeChat in advance, proactively communicating before arrival, and provided many helpful tips throughout my stay. What really captivated me was the large second-floor terrace with its stunning view. Being able to watch the sunset from the dedicated rooftop area was truly a delight—it became one of the most unforgettable moments of my trip!
Also, the two adorable, friendly kittens were always there, offering a warm and loving companionship. Highly recommended for those seeking a quiet and quality stay in Xidi."

GGuest UserI took my baby on a family vacation and was lucky to stay at the beautiful Qijing Meisu in Xidi. It is next to Xidi Village, quiet and not noisy. The courtyard is tranquil and full of flower fragrance. When you push open the gate, you can see rape flowers and mountains in the distance. The boss is a Beijinger with an optimistic and generous personality. He is very friendly. When I brought my baby back, I happened to see the boss making breakfast. The baby said it smelled good. The boss asked us to eat with him. The handmade buns and green rice dumplings were so delicious. The baby also successfully became good friends with the original resident of the yard (a cat named Yamamoto). I felt that the Xidi Village restaurant was too noisy during the holidays, so I bought some food and returned to the pavilion in the courtyard to eat and drink tea. The breeze blew on my face, and Yamamoto, who had a good sense of propriety, lay quietly by the door. Everything felt perfect! Clean, sanitary, quiet and sincere, next time I come to Xidi, I will choose Laoban's house as my first choice!

LlilyThis is a duplex apartment overlooking Nanhu Lake in the scenic area, very close to the entrance. The second-floor window offers a view of Nanhu Lake. Picture five shows the view in the early morning.
Parking is difficult during holidays, but the young man helped me find a spot.
The best time to take photos in Hongcun is in the early morning when there are fewer people; the photos turn out beautifully, no matter how casually you take them. No wonder it's so famous.

GGuest UserThis homestay was satisfactory. It was very well located in the old town and easy to find.
However, there was no one at the front desk when I arrived or throughout the stay. I had to call and then wait for about 10 minutes before someone arrived. When the host arrived they seemed unsure about my reservation, was on call with someone else, and didn’t provide any service or information about the local area.
A while after I entered the room there was a bad smell from the bathroom drain that remained for the rest of my stay. There was another bad smell in the morning of my 2nd day. I walked outside my room to find that an animal had pooped outside my door. Maybe a cat?
It is unfortunate because this was a beautiful home and Hongcun is a stunning town, but it did not feel like the homestay was very well serviced or cleaned. I’m sure they can improve before the next stay!

MMLFooEverything is excellent. The owner came out to the entrance and drove our luggage to the hotel. He did the same when we left. So our big luggage bags weren’t a problem. We had a very comfortable stay for 3 nights. They have a washer for laundry which suits our needs. The owner also has a very quaint cafe just around the corner. We had a great time chilling there for 2 afternoons and even had dinner there. Highly recommended!

The inn is a historic Huizhou style house with a quiet courtyard; Bishan is a great village with a mix of traditional livelihoods and new cultural activity - I really want to come again in the warmer weather. Transport is spotty but the owners can help arrange cars as needed.
Note to foreign friends: No English is spoken but the hosts are very welcoming and you could get along just fine with a translation app. Come visit and experience the real Anhui!

GGuest UserThe most beautiful proprietress in Hongcun is not only beautiful, she also drives to and from the hotel herself. The service is meticulous and the accommodation environment is good. Although the soundproofing of the century-old wooden house is not good, everyone consciously goes to bed before ten o'clock. The village is very quiet. It was a two-day rest after coming down from Huangshan Mountain. It's great! Super five-star praise!

MM4695****It's very close to the South Gate, with a large floor-to-ceiling glass room. The room was very clean and had all the basic amenities. The owner was very attentive. They helped with the way into and out of the scenic area and even checked in my luggage. They also gave me a souvenir before I checked out.

The room was exquisitely decorated, every detail revealing the owner's thoughtfulness and taste. The bed was soft and comfortable, and after a good night's sleep, I felt completely refreshed. I was also very satisfied with the host's service; they were welcoming but not overly intrusive, and their recommendations for nearby restaurants were excellent. I'll definitely stay here again! XxoolisaBeautiful house located in a quiet part of the ancient village. As you’ll read in many reviews, the host provides excellent service, and I felt like I was meeting a friend. He took me to and from the gate of the village to the house and helped me carry my luggage. He also helped me arrange a ride back to the train station - there were some issues and he took the time to sort it out with the drivers on my behalf, which was above and beyond. The host and I talked about traveling and I could tell he was someone who was genuine and wanted to be as helpful as possible.
The room is beautiful with huge windows and lots of thoughtful details. I had wonderful rests here while it was too hot outside. From the window you can see some rooftops of Hui architecture. The village isn’t big, so all the sights are nearby

YYipianleierThe owner is really nice, warm and easy to talk to. You can tell he's dedicated to running the business. I'm giving this rating purely to encourage him to improve some of the issues and grow the business. The shop's ambiance is actually quite stunning, brimming with Anhui style, antique charm, and a captivating atmosphere. But I was completely surprised to see a major issue with the basic drainage system. In the shower, within seconds, water began to accumulate like a fish pond beneath my feet. Even the washbasin was severely clogged, overflowing quickly. At first, I thought it was a common problem with old Anhui-style houses, but when I asked my parents where they live, they said they had no such issue. It seems like encountering this kind of problem is really just a matter of luck; if you're unlucky, you'll just have to deal with a terrible water blockage. I hope the owner can resolve this issue quickly so everyone can enjoy a comfortable stay.
