"Before coming to Hongcun, I didn't have high expectations, thinking it would just be another old village to visit and leave. However, my stay at 'Hongcun Yike Homestay' made me feel that every detail of this trip radiated warmth. Upon arriving at Hongcun bus station, I was unfamiliar with the area and was stressing about how to drag my luggage across the stone-paved paths to the homestay while looking at a map. The moment I called, the owner's enthusiastic voice immediately put me at ease: 'Wait there, I'll be right over to pick you up!' In less than ten minutes, the owner appeared on an electric scooter, swiftly tied my luggage to the vehicle, and cheerfully motioned for me to hop on. We weaved through Hongcun's winding alleys and past bustling crowds of tourists. The homestay was tucked away in a quiet lane near Moon Pond, an excellent location. You could see Moon Pond just around the corner, yet it was peaceful and quiet – truly an oasis of calm amidst the hustle and bustle. Stepping into the courtyard, I was captivated by this homestay, a renovated Huizhou-style building. The exquisitely carved porch, wooden corridors, and rustic private courtyard exuded the unique elegance and serenity characteristic of Huizhou homes. Inside the room, it was bright and clean. The antique-style wooden bed paired with a soft mattress offered both classic charm and comfort. The night was exceptionally quiet, and I slept soundly. Early the next morning, I opened the window to a beautiful view of the Huizhou-style horse-head walls in the morning light, distant mountains draped in lush greenery, and the nearby sounds of birdsong and fragrant flowers. It truly felt like living inside a traditional Chinese ink wash painting. On the day of my departure, the owner drove me to the bus station as usual, reminding me of other places I hadn't visited in Hongcun along the way. Before saying goodbye, the owner pulled out a packet of chrysanthemum tea from the trunk, handed it to me, and smiled, saying, 'This is our local chrysanthemum tea, take it home and try it.' Holding that packet of tea, my heart felt warm. Staying here truly felt like returning to an old friend's home in Huizhou, thoughtful and considerate in every way. 'Yike Homestay' truly lives up to its name – making one feel 'at ease' (逸) and so content that guests (客) forget to leave. Next time I'm in Hongcun, I'll definitely stay here again."

"I absolutely love this hotel! It's right on the edge of Hongcun village, just a few minutes' walk away. I'm especially fond of the hotel's decor – it's elegant and stylish. The hotel boasts a very spacious lounge area, perfect for enjoying tea and conversation. It's incredibly comfortable for relaxing, and they even offer complimentary tea, snacks, and sweet potatoes. There are also two adorable cats roaming around! Breakfast is served on the hotel's top floor, which offers breathtaking views, including the morning mist over the mountains. All the staff are very friendly and polite. I originally booked for just one night, but I loved it so much that I immediately extended my stay for another night. Highly recommend!"

"It's quite close to Hongcun, and there's a small path through the village. The guesthouse has beautiful rose bushes planted behind it. The room was clean and odor-free, and there's an elevator. The only downside is that there was only one mahjong table room and we couldn't reserve it. Parking is available right outside the guesthouse."

"After a super tiring day hiking Huangshan, I specifically looked for a hotel with a private hot spring to relax. The hotel itself has a great design, and the front desk, knowing I was traveling with my parents, very thoughtfully upgraded us to a suite. They were so happy and kept taking photos. In the morning, while waiting for our taxi, they even kindly brought us tea. The service was excellent, and the taxi driver also mentioned this is the best hotel around. If you stay here, you can have breakfast and then take some great photos in the morning; there are many picturesque spots."

"Very good location in Hongcun. Practically behind the Moon pond. The room is modern & clean. Floor heating works well. It takes a bit of time to fill up the massive bath tub (due to electric heating), but it's a heaven sent feature to soak after a long day of walking, especially in winter. The host is friendly & responsive. For price, quality, & comfort, we think it's perfect"

"After looking at many guesthouses in Xidi, I finally chose this hidden gem that embodies tea culture. The owners added us on WeChat beforehand and picked us up at the village entrance – so thoughtful and considerate! The owners, a kind couple, have adopted four adorable cats and a dog. The guesthouse is a century-old Hui-style building, with rooms modified to suit modern living habits, offering both traditional charm and a comfortable experience. The owners love and understand tea; even though we returned late from a Xidi night tour, we were still treated to delicious tea – thank you! They have a tea garden, and we bought three kinds of locally grown tea to take home and enjoy slowly; the Dafang tea was truly wonderful! The guesthouse is beautiful; even in early March, there were still many beautiful flowers, showcasing the tranquility and beauty of rural life. A good night's sleep, grateful for the encounter! 👍🫶"

"Stepping into the room, I was greeted by a stunning view of traditional Huizhou-style architecture, which was beyond my expectations. The hotel is conveniently located right next to the West Gate of Hongcun, making it just a few steps to enter the village. There are plenty of dining options nearby, and parking is a breeze. I feel like this is one of the more upscale hotels in the vicinity, haha! 😄 The only minor issue was the unstable hot water temperature during showers; hopefully, that can be improved."

"Highly recommended B&B! The location is wonderfully secluded, and the rooms are cozy and tastefully decorated in a Japanese style. The courtyard is very thoughtfully designed; every photo you take turns out beautifully. Most of the staff are *******, and they are incredibly warm and welcoming. Having just returned from a trip to Tibet this year, I felt an instant connection 🥰. I especially have to mention the B&B's dinner. We originally planned to eat in Hongcun but couldn't find a restaurant we liked, so we decided to head back to the B&B (they even offer shuttle service to Hongcun!). We pre-ordered our meal with the manager, so it was ready when we got back. We ordered stinky mandarin fish, free-range chicken soup, and stir-fried eggs with stone ear fungus. Every dish was made with super fresh ingredients and tasted absolutely amazing, especially the chicken soup. It was definitely made with free-range chicken, something you just can't find in Shanghai – so delicious! The portions were generous too; we couldn't finish it all. The manager even suggested saving the rest for chicken noodle soup the next morning. Wow, such thoughtful service! They also gave us a parting gift when we left. I love the atmosphere here and every single staff member. If you're coming to Tachuan, choose to stay here – you definitely won't regret it!"

"Overnight in Hongcun, half mountain and half water ✔ I booked this hotel while visiting Hongcun. I arrived at the scenic area at 6 PM. The hostess came with a cart to pick up my luggage. The entrance to the B&B is decorated in the Huizhou style. We booked a duplex on a last-minute basis; my friend prefers older buildings. We made do with it for one night. The highlight of this place is the terrace. From the top, you can enjoy the entire Hongcun nightscape. For the price, this hotel is quite good, and I'll also review it on the reviews page."

"The room is very clean, and it smells fresh as soon as you enter the room. The courtyard is simple and elegant, very beautiful, and you can take blockbuster movies in the B&B. Many young ladies borrowed the door to take pictures. The boss is very enthusiastic, and the tea is also very delicious. I was very lucky to participate in the boss's barbecue party, drink with some like-minded people, sit with the person you love, and blow the wind of the ancient city. It is really a great blessing in the world. The people and the scenery are beautiful, and a good accommodation will really bring infinite surprises to the journey. The stinky mandarin fish here is super delicious, the people here are very enthusiastic, and the sunset is even more beautiful. You can choose here for team building, barbecue and relax by yourself, breathe fresh air, and feel the artistic atmosphere of the quaint Hui-style architecture. This B&B is really a surprise.
