"Luxurious hotel with modern rooms, full TV channels, and cold AC. Complete amenities and a clean toilet. The breakfast selection was extensive and impressive! 👍 Unfortunately, the carpet wasn't very clean; it felt gritty underfoot when I wasn't wearing shoes. We also received a complimentary photoshoot, but only got one hard copy and frame. If you wanted the soft copies, you had to pay, and the price was quite steep, though there was no pressure to buy. The photos turned out great, making it hard to say no, haha. The location was a downside; it's far from the city center and right next to a highway leading out of town. This meant frequent traffic jams, and large trucks and buses constantly passed by. There was a minor incident during checkout, but it was well handled by the on-duty deputy manager, so no hard feelings."

"Our stay was pleasant in this colonial property. Howsoever, our room was on the ground floor with window that facing the internal corridor and the room entrance right facing the staircase.
It was a low season during our stay, so the noise from human traffics was very much manageable. The one thing that disturbed me most was a choice of music from the 2nd floor cafe/pub- they run the music from 6am - midnight.
Will i stay here again? Probably not. At that price Malang can offer you a lot more. That said, i didnt regret my choice for The Shalimar hotel."

"Stayed for 2 nights and had a lovely time. Overall, the place was clean and looked new. Room was clean and relatively spacious.
There were only a few, small issues that prevented this from being an all 5 star review.
Firstly, sound proofing was bad. I could hear what my neighbours were watching on TV at night, and as we were facing the pool, we could also hear when people were running around there.
Secondly, the lifts were really slow and narrow for a seemingly new hotel. The first day I arrived, 2 out of 3 lifts were not working. And the lifts themselves were very narrow and uncomfortable to be in when there were more than 5 persons in the lift.
Lastly, the kettle provided in the room was faulty, it didn't stop boiling unless you pressed it manually, making it a bit dangerous for guests who are unaware.
But like I said, these just irked me, and other guests may not feel the same way. Overall still a very pleasant stay and good amenities all around."

"The service was good. The room was small, and there was a safe inside, but only two large bath towels were provided. There aren't any proper restaurants nearby, but there's a convenience store right next to the hotel. The breakfast looked like it had a good variety, but there were very few substantial dishes, not even boiled or fried eggs."

"We experienced a delay during check-in because the housekeeping wasn't finished yet. Eventually, we got a room (they said it was an upgraded type) but it had twin beds, even though we originally booked a queen bed. The facilities are good, just missing a laundry bag :( Oh, and the swimming pool is actually great because it's spacious and long, but the chlorine is too strong, which makes it uncomfortable for the eyes and mouth, even though the water in Malang should be fresh 😬 The location is very strategic, though it's a bit confusing to find the entrance as it's behind Transmart."

"The facility set up with swimming pools, nice garden, gym, restaurants, meeting venues and overall environment is relaxing. When selecting your rooms, try to stay away from the car park and motorbike parking lot as around 4+am you will hear the prayers from the amplifiers and after that the motorbike sounds. The first 2 nights in Sky room I was not able to sleep until I changed to standard room on 3rd night then everything ok. The staffs are polite and helpful."

Guest UserBest in my Indonasia so far! The room was so spacious with the spectacular city view. Staff was super friendly and welcoming. I got a dedicated ambassador and everything was quick. The location is excellent. Highly recommended for your stay in Malang.
The only improvement is bedding. The comforter was not very comfy and had stains. Sheets seemed fairly old.

Santika Malang
From the moment I arrived Santika Malang set the tone for an exceptional stay The staff greeted me with genuine smiles and immediately offered a complimentary traditional Javanese herbal drink a thoughtful local touch that was both refreshing and welcoming They were also quick to assist with my luggage and guide me to my room without me even having to ask
Throughout my stay I found myself spending quite a bit of time at the hotel café The bartender was friendly and attentive and the relaxed atmosphere made it the perfect spot for a late night coffee and some light bites something I genuinely looked forward to each evening
One of the highlights The hotel offers free bicycle loans which is a fantastic perk I explored the city on two wheels and it made the whole experience so much more personal and fun
The location is also incredibly convenient Right next door you will find a 24 hour Indomaret and Alfamart for any daily essentials and the surrounding area is full of great local eateries I highly recommend the Sop Soto Betawi at the stall just in front of the hotel authentic delicious and very affordable
Overall Santika Malang delivers on every front warm hospitality great facilities and a prime location I will absolutely be returning Highly recommended

Guest UserThe location is actually top notch, located close to the city Centre and easy to reach all the most famous destination.
The cleanliness is the best by far, I was ordering 2 times to get new towels and they prepared it well. On top of that, I was asking to change the cover of the bed and they did it at their best.
The only minor in my opinion, but to me is bothering my last stay at the hotel. On the last day, I was getting breakfast as usual, ordering 2 sunny side up (half cook). I knew it was on Saturday morning and more busy compare the normal days. The cook was quite new I believe, he looked overwhelm with all the orders and suddenly he said that he ran out of the gas. Boom…all the cooking was off, all the staffs looked busy to get a new gas tube. It was around 15 minutes I guess until I came to the egg station again and asked to the same order. The cook was saying okay I will prepare it first then I would be sending to your table. No I said, I will be waiting here because the last time I ordered it he just said yes while other guests was also ordering the same thing. He was even not typing at all then how could he be remembering whose ordering the eggs.
All and all, it was still a great experience and ambience to stay at this hotel. I would definitely be staying back in the next visit.

This hotel is strategically located along the main road. There are a lot of restaurants, cafe and convenient stores nearby.
In terms of rooms, we are happy to book a room. We get 2 big beds and in one room, four adults can sleep comfortably.
Toilet is divided into shower cubicle, sink and vanity mirror and toilet bowl. My comment is that shower cubicle is only half closed and it's missing proper glass door. Therefore, shower water spills into the sink and mirror section. When it's wet, the tile is quite slippery. So, walk carefully.
Two breakfast coupons worth IDR50,000.00 each are given for each room. You can have your breakfast delivered to your room or you can dine at the restaurant. The restaurant is located in the building next to the hotel. We were informed that the restaurant is under the same management as the hotel. The food is good. We ordered bubur ayam a few times as it is good. Nasi goreng Jawa is very delicious. There are chicken slices and cabbage slices. It's well cooked and the portion is generous.
What is interesting about this hotel? It has a rooftop restaurant and you can take pictures of Malang city from up there.

Anonymous UserThe hotel is located next to the main road in the city center, which is very convenient to find. It is about one kilometer away from the train station. There are many restaurants on the road above the train station.
The hotel room is standard and big enough with a bathtub, but it's too old and poorly maintained. It looks a bit dirty and needs to be renovated.
