"The hotel is about a 15-minute drive from JR Otaru Station. You can pre-book a shuttle service, which runs from 3 PM to 7 PM in the afternoon, and there are also morning shuttles available. We stayed for two days and used the shuttle bus daily, finding it very convenient.
It's also conveniently located close to Otaru Aquarium, Shuku-tsu Observation Deck, and the Blue Cave.
Perched on a hill overlooking the sea, the hotel boasts wonderful views, perfect for catching both sunrise and sunset. Guests staying at the hotel also receive a discount for Mount Tengu Ropeway.
While the hotel's facilities are a bit dated, they are very well-maintained. Each room features a private hot spring tub with continuously flowing, clean water, which is a great convenience.
We pre-booked dinner at the hotel, which offered a fusion of French and Japanese cuisine. There were two set menus to choose from, or à la carte options. The servers were dressed in suits, creating a formal dining atmosphere. We were told their dinner won second place in the 2024 Otaru Hotel Dining Competition, but honestly, I personally didn't feel it quite lived up to that acclaim. Still, it was decent overall."
