"Great location, with plenty of dining options nearby. Plus, there's a Lulu exchange shop right across the street, which is super convenient for changing money and has good rates. I had an unpleasant experience, though it wasn't entirely the hotel's fault. I arrived close to 2 AM. I had booked a twin room, but the hotel said the order they received from Trip.com's agent was for a king-size bed. They wanted to charge me 10 OMR per night to add an extra bed. Trip.com eventually covered this cost, but it still meant I wasn't settled until almost 3 AM… The breakfast was quite varied. The water pressure in the shower was a bit low, and the bedding didn't feel as crisp and dry as I'd have liked…"

"I recently stayed at the Golden Tulip Hotel Muscat, and overall, it was a very pleasant experience. The location is excellent—central, safe, and close to shops, restaurants, and the beach. It made getting around Muscat really convenient. The room was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with a comfortable bed and modern amenities. Staff were friendly and professional. Check-in and check-out were smooth and quick. The breakfast buffet was decent, with a mix of local and international options—though I would’ve loved to see a bit more variety day to day."

"Seriously, DO NOT take a taxi from the hotel! You'll get ripped off! A taxi hailed outside costs 2 local currency (around 40 RMB), but the hotel charges 10 local currency (around 200 RMB) for the same ride. Always confirm the price before getting in! I got scammed, and it completely ruined my otherwise great impression of Oman. The hotel taxi service at the end just spoiled everything!"

"A pleasant, cozy hotel in a convenient area. It's a 10-minute walk to the Ruwi bus station. A bit dated, but still comfortable. Good price, and hearty, varied breakfasts. In our room, the TV tuner wasn't working, and the refrigerator and TV outlets were swapped (the fridge would turn off during the day when I left the room, I only noticed in the evening that it hadn't been working all day). There was a very unpleasant incident at breakfast on December 15th with a staff member wearing glasses. I arrived a bit earlier than my friend for breakfast, gave room number 415, and mentioned that my friend would join me in 5 minutes. When my friend arrived, the staff member asked for his room number. My friend couldn't remember it and was trying to check his card when the staff member's phone rang. He answered the phone, completely ignoring my friend. My friend stood waiting for several minutes while the staff member talked on the phone. Another staff member eventually invited him to breakfast. Later, the same staff member approached our table and announced that breakfast ended at 10:30, then started taking my friend's plate while he was still eating. Only after I told him we would be done within five minutes did he leave our table. I've never experienced such disrespect for guests. Usually, at other hotels, when breakfast ends, they close the buffet but guests are calmly allowed to finish what they've already taken; no one is rushed out. However, there were no such incidents on the following days, and we finished breakfast before 10:40. All other staff members were very polite; I don't know what caused that specific behavior."

"I booked one twin room and one king room, requesting quiet rooms close to each other. When checking in, the female receptionist gave me a twin room on the sixth floor and a king room on the third floor. The twin room had a lot of equipment noise. After complaining, they moved me to the room across the hall, but when I walked in, it was a king room... They clearly had twin and king rooms close together, so I don't know why they didn't give them to me initially. 🙄 The third-floor room was quiet at first, but then at 6 AM the next morning, the construction site across the street started up. The hotel didn't even seem full, so I don't know why all the rooms they assigned were facing the construction. 😤 I saw a laundry room listed in the amenities, and after searching for a while, I found two washing machines on the fifth floor. They looked dirty, so I didn't dare use them. The breakfast selection was quite limited, comparable to a budget hotel in China, and leaned towards Indian flavors. Other staff members were friendly though. The room had a large water dispenser, but we didn't want to drink from it, and the staff promptly provided several bottles of drinking water, which was great. The room also had a microwave and some tableware. Overall, it was just an alright stay for one night, and the bedding was comfortable."
