"I decided to come to Chengde to play temporarily with my family. The weather in Chengde was a bit cold in March, but after I came to the hotel, I felt that the lobby was very warm. I quickly checked in for us. I have never lived in a hotel similar to a movie projector before. I want to experience it once. The result feels really good, the most important thing is that the children also like it very much. We went to the Mountain Resort and Chengde Museum today. The hotel is not very far from the scenic spot. It is very convenient to eat. The waiter also very enthusiastically recommended some food in Chengde. I tried it. It's pretty good, it's still very comfortable to come out and play."

"We had a perfect stay at the Tuke Light hotel. The hotel was conveniently close to the railway station, as well as to several bus stops, which we could use to get around town. The room was comfy, clean, modern, and everything worked just as expected. We used the complimentary laundry facility, and also there everything was new and clean. The hotel staff was the perfect addition to this already good hotel: they were kind, helpful, and went out of their way to help us have a pleasant stay and enjoy as much time as we could in Chengde. Really recommended!!"

"Very friendly youth hostel in the center of Chengde. The location is excellent and you can do almost anything by feet. The bar is a nice touch as they have good beers and I was able to play dice with other guests. The atmosphere was nice and evrybody left before I went to bed at midnight. The staff is great and helpful as they allowed me to change room in order to flee a very rude guest that would listen to videos on his phone without earphones very loudly. I also was able to do my laundry for a cheap price but they could invest in more hangers."

"The room was newly renovated, and the amenities were basic but perfectly functional. The staff provided warm and friendly service. My only minor gripes were a slight lingering smell from the renovation and that I was disturbed twice by street noise, around 1 AM and 3 AM, as my room was street-facing. Nevertheless, it was a decent stay overall."

The mountain surroundings were absolutely breathtaking, with fresh crisp air that immediately washed away all our city stress. The room was cozy and well-designed, featuring traditional Chinese elements blended with modern amenities. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and accommodating, always ready to help with any requests. The location was perfect for exploring the Wuling Mountain area, and we loved waking up to the sound of birds and seeing the misty mountain views every morning. The hiking trails nearby were well-maintained and offered stunning views of the landscape. Although it was a bit remote, that was exactly what we were looking for - a true escape from urban life. The local breakfast was delicious and featured fresh, organic ingredients from the area. We particularly enjoyed the evening stargazing, as the night sky was crystal clear away from city lights. This place is absolutely perfect for couples seeking a romantic getaway or anyone looking to reconnect with nature. GGuest UserWe hiked the Great Wall of China from Gubeikou to Jinshanling and chose this hotel to rest after the day. The accommodation is ideally located, right next to the entrance gate to the Wall. The host was very welcoming, and the room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. All the beautiful photos you see of his establishment were taken by the host himself! Since we were there during the off-season and most shops were closed, the host offered to cook dinner and breakfast for us. He is a delicious cook. He also offers taxi services and was able to take us to Gubeikou train station the next morning for our return trip to Beijing. We are extremely grateful for this wonderful stay in Jinshanling and would gladly return!

GGuest UserLove their home cooked dishes! We rather go back to hotel for meal after Gubei water town. The couple bosses were so sweet to let us indicate spiciness and accommodate our minor diet restriction. They dun have noodles but they used alternative ingredients to make some gourd dish that tasted close to noodles.
The rooms were big, in SG standard, one bed was queen size and the other was super single. Their bathroom was newly renovated and love their heater installed at shower cubicle, making it more comfortable to shower in cold weather.
The couple bosses provided great tips on local transport to help us get to/fro Jinshanling for sunset and sunrise opportunities. They are situated around 5min drive from Jinshanling ticketing.
Love the room doorstep views overlooking the geese and house dog. We will choose this hotel next time!

GGuest UserOur stay was absolutely fantastic and a wonderful surprise! The auntie (hostess) was incredibly warm and friendly, and even gave us a complimentary room upgrade, which was so thoughtful. Her home-cooked meals were delicious and authentic – we really enjoyed them. The room itself was newly decorated and spotless, with excellent facilities, and all the disposable amenities were well-stocked. The view from the window was lovely. Overall, our experience was perfect, and we'll definitely choose this place again next time!

GGuest UserWe were scared of large crowds at the wall, and followimg many online recommendation we found the Jinshanling section.
This hotel is at the great location a short walk from the mid enterance to the wall section, the Gubeikou train station is also very reachable from the Beijingbei (North) train station. It is also quite affordable to reach the place by Didi (550 yuan from the Beijing airport).
The place is clean, and the food really stands out as quite amazing, the prices are also very low, for room and food. Just tell the owner you would want a breakfast and you will be served one first thing in the morning. The ladies are also super nice and very hospitable to the foreign turists.

The room is small but okay. The bed is comfortable like most chinese beds. The bathroom is super tiny and had some plumbing problems also the grey water from the shower runs across the floor to the sink, bear in bind when you put dowm a towel for your feet.
The light in all rooms is very dark and everything in the room was laying under a urine smell caused by the aircon. That's the reason we would not stay here again.
The breakfast is great but the room is too small to fit all guests, so it gets super busy.
Plus point: you can tale your bicycle to the rooms.

GGuest UserThe room is in line with the price, some simple but very clean. The boss and the waiter are very warm and the service is in place. The dishes are also delicious and the children like it very much. The only thing that makes people uncomfortable is that they didn't say that they would charge when they helped send the ticket gate. I heard the proprietress say that after breakfast, I helped send the ticket gate of the Great Wall. After climbing the Great Wall, I asked me to call again. They came to pick it up. If they didn't mention how much money, they defaulted to the free service. As a result, at checkout, each person was 10 yuan a way, and we received 80 yuan for a big and three small back and forth. If you tell us in advance that this is a fee service will be better, we can have our own choice whether to accept this service. I should also ask if it is free first.

KKeith OHalloranAmazing guesthouse and could not ask for better location to the Jinshanling Great Wall (1 minute walk away from the entrance gates). Very kind accommodating owner and staff, great dinners as well, comfortable room, and even pick up and drop off from train station. Perfect place to stay to see the wall, and the Jinshanling wall was absolutely amazing, and fairly quiet with less people. Highly recommend this place.
