"Overall, it was decent. There's no actual door to the room, just an open common area and private lockers. The room is separated from the hallway by a curtain, so it can get a bit noisy with any sounds from the corridor. The heating in the room was extremely strong, almost suffocating, to the point where I couldn't sleep well and had to go downstairs for some fresh air in the middle of the night. Some of the shower facilities weren't great, and there was nowhere to put my toiletries."

"Very nice capsule hostel, location is good! It was clean and well organized. Just pitty that the owner doesnt speak english. It was hard to get the check in instructions when arriving. Because you have to call the owner for the doorcode and bed number etc. I just went to local McDonald’s and they answered the phone for me. They were luckily really helpful!"

"This is my first time writing a negative review. Everything about my trip to Datong was great, and the drivers were very friendly. My only complaint was that there were bugs on the first day at the hotel. One of them crawled onto my pillow while I was lying on the bed. I contacted Ctrip customer service and asked for compensation. I stayed for three nights, and they could have just waived the night I slept on that day, but Ctrip said the hotel refused to compensate. Also, the vendors below the hotel were constantly hawking their wares until 10 a.m. all three nights, which was very noisy."

"Excellent hotel! Great location, in the heart of the historic part of the city.. Easy to get from the southern Railway station by bus number 61. Comfortable nice room, very clean. The room has a kettle, cups, and tea bags. Girl from reception was so helpful. She has given a lot recomendation for visit attractions of Datun and has helped to find a transfer to Xuankong Si Monastery."

"My friends and I were originally planning to visit Jin Temple in Taiyuan, have some knife-cut noodles, and then head to Xi'an. Somehow, we found ourselves traveling all the way to Datong. Datong is incredibly popular this year, with the only holiday costing just 1,000 yuan a night. My dream of backpacking for a few years, which I've had for over 20 years, is starting to resurface. Since there's such a great opportunity, I decided to stay at a youth hostel. Xu Jin Huan is probably the most innovative youth hostel I've ever stayed at, and every aspect of it meets my tastes and needs. I was particularly impressed by the entrance shoe locker with disinfectant function, the laundry area with ample washing and drying equipment, the well-designed and spacious common areas, the self-service drinks cabinet, and the clean, functional, and private sleeping areas. Most importantly, the location is exceptional, just a few hundred meters from the city gate. In three days, I rediscovered this simple yet profound ancient city. The front desk attendant was quite conscientious and diligently maintained cleanliness, constantly cleaning. However, youth hostels tend to be more management-oriented, and the front desk staff was a bit brusque, but still acceptable. If I were to travel solo again, I'd definitely stay here."

"The hotel is super convenient! Right outside, there's a shuttle stop for tourist attractions, and directly across the street is the Heyangmen ancient city wall. It's only four kilometers from Datong Railway Station, and there's a bus stop right by the entrance. The heating was excellent, and there was plenty of hot water. The room was clean, and the owner was very friendly and helpful."
