"This hostel is an absolute gem! Its location is fantastic, right next to Datong Ancient City, making it super convenient to cycle there in the morning. You don't have to make your own bed, and the bedding feels really clean. The hostel facilities are incredibly comprehensive; they provide a washing machine and detergent, and the washing machine even has a dryer function. There are plenty of shower rooms, all very clean, with great water pressure for hot showers. There's even a dedicated vanity room for hair drying, skincare, and makeup. The hairdryer works really well, and get this – they even provide face masks! I was absolutely astonished when I saw that. The common area is quite spacious, with a vending machine for snacks and drinks, and lots of tables for eating. The water dispenser is also located there. It looks like there's even a projector area in the common space, and the hostel offers free rentals of DJI drones and Instax cameras, which I haven't used, but that's a definite plus! The hostel is completely separated by gender; all facilities mentioned, except for the common area, are segregated for male and female guests, which is another big thumbs up! Perhaps the only potential downside is that the hostel rooms don't have doors, so noise can be an issue. However, I visited during the off-season when there were hardly any guests, so for me, this hostel had no cons, only pros. Considering all its facilities and its extremely competitive pricing, this hostel gets a massive thumbs-up from me!"

"The room was clean and the front desk service was very warm and thoughtful. It is very close to the Datong Museum. I made a fully qualified room arrangement according to my accommodation requirements. It was too warm. I gave a small gift box when I checked in, but I had already eaten it. I forgot to take pictures. When I left, I also sent a small gift! It's this blue little pimp horse, so cute! Next time I come to Datong, I will stay at this hotel!"

"The bedroom and bathroom are clean. The owner is very friendly. The hotel is quite well located: there is a bus stop nearby, and if the weather is nice, you can easily get around by bike, as it's easy to find one in the area. Additionally, the proximity to a train station makes long-distance travel very convenient. Overall, a very good experience!"

"Pros: 1. Excellent location, directly opposite Datong Ancient City and Yangdong Gate, and near the scenic shuttle bus stop. It's very convenient for getting around to various attractions, and after a night tour of Datong Ancient City Wall, it's an easy walk back to the guesthouse. 2. There's a direct bus from Datong South Station, and it's easy to hail a ride-sharing service or taxi right outside the guesthouse. 3. Well-stocked with toiletries, and the complimentary laundry service is very practical. 4. The guesthouse staff are also very friendly. Cons: 1. A bit far from restaurants, supermarkets, and pharmacies in residential areas, so dining requires a bit of a walk. Lacks some everyday convenience. 2. The bathroom is small, water pressure is low, and the showerhead has issues, making for an uncomfortable showering experience."

"This hotel really exceeded expectations! The room was clean and the decoration was simple and new, and the living was very comfortable. The staff is kind and the service is intimate. There are a lot of food around, and you don’t have to worry about eating. The most pleasant surprise is that there is a charging pile to charge, and you don’t have to worry about driving a tram. Go to Yungang Grottoes, ancient city walls, museums are very close. highly recommended!"

"This hotel is located in the heart of the ancient city of Datong. Although there were few steps of staircase leading to the entrance of the hotel and the reception was on level 2 and our room type was only available on the 3rd level. Upon check in the hotel staff by the name of Xiao Guo was very helpful and she helped us to carry our luggages to our room at level 3.. There was a small window in our room overseeing the street. The room was spacious and very clean. All corners, fixtures and furnitures in our room were wiped very clean. All amenities were provided inside the room too. The bed mattress and pillow were soft and very comfortable. Body gel, hair shampoo, hair conditioner, hand wash and clothing detergent were all good quality. 2 water bottles, toothbrush, hair comb and slippers were provided in the room. There were space to hang our winter clothing and also washed socks and inner wears. The air-conditioner was superb as it can be adjusted to 4 types of air:normal, wet reduction, cold air and warm air, hence it made our stay more comfortable. There was also an air freshener machine in the room to refresh the air inside the room. So far this is the cleanest hotel room throughout all my China trips. The housekeeper was friendly and ensure the room being cleaned up daily. Overall, I would like to compliment the hotel staff by the name of Xiao Guo for her hospitality and kindness in helping us when we asked her for any information about Datong and places to eat. Xiao Guo always smilling and her warmness has let us felt very welcomed as a hotel guest. Another compliment was to be given to the housekeeper old lady who really did a great job to ensure the cleanliness of our hotel room and the entire hotel public areas. Highly recommended this hotel to all tourist."

"The hotel is very close to Datong's historic center, although it's in a building and, if I remember correctly, the reception is on the 12th floor, so you might get lost when you arrive, as it's not very well signposted. The room is spacious and has very good views of the old town (as you can see in the photos). Everything was very clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was good. The only drawback was that you could hear people from outside or from other rooms. They should improve the building's entrance a bit, as it gives a rather unsightly first impression."

"The new hotel is fully equipped, very new and clean, the front desk is warm, bottled water is provided free of charge, and disposable bath towels are provided. The best thing is that the hotel is very quiet in the inner courtyard. Take a taxi to Yungang Grottoes for more than 20 yuan, and walk a while from the ancient city, but there are buses nearby."

"The staff at this hotel were warm and thoughtful, and introduced the local situation in great detail! After checking in that day, the staff on duty also took the initiative to help us get a taxi to visit the ancient city without getting tired of it. Our time in Datong was short but very memorable!"

"Average facilities with a really plain staff. They do not speak English but they do not even try to communicate at least. We had to wait for check-in process with an empty reception as the receptionist was doing something on her computer not even making eye contact upon arrival. So felt really ignored. Breakfast reaaaaally poor. No coffee or tea was served, just slices of fruits, some steam buns and soup noodles. Hard bed in the room and shower leaking everywhere on the bathroom. Overall not a satisfactory stay."
