"Overall, it was decent. There's no actual door to the room, just an open common area and private lockers. The room is separated from the hallway by a curtain, so it can get a bit noisy with any sounds from the corridor. The heating in the room was extremely strong, almost suffocating, to the point where I couldn't sleep well and had to go downstairs for some fresh air in the middle of the night. Some of the shower facilities weren't great, and there was nowhere to put my toiletries."

"Absolutely loved this hotel! The minimalist design of the room was exactly my style. It was very spacious, making it easy to move around. The service was excellent. Every day, I received WeChat reminders for things like room cleaning and breakfast reservations for the next day. When checking out, they helped me with my luggage to the taxi, and I was pleasantly surprised with a welcome gift upon arrival. It seems to be a pet-friendly hotel; besides the resident cats and dogs, guests also brought their own pets, which created a really lovely atmosphere."

"I usually never leave a review, but I wanted to share that the people whom work here are very kind! I arrived in the middle of the night and they suggested to pick me up from the trainstation. Upon arrival I received several free items (toothbrush, flipflops, sleeping mask etc). There are clean towels that you can use, soap/shampoo is also present. The room was very clean and the public area is very big. I was travelling alone but I saw that there were many games and options to watch tv etc. When asking for help for which bus to take, they offered to being me to the nearest busstation by car. Overall, a very good experience. Thank you for the kindness and all the help!"

"This place lives up to its name. ψ (｀∇´)ψ is a studio apartment-style room with convenient access to scenic spots and easy takeout! Maybe it's new? It's quite clean. It has all the amenities you could imagine, and even disposable towels, bath towels, toiletries, and toilet seats are all included! The bathroom has a washing machine, and the closet has hangers, so even a quick wash is enough. There's a knife-cut noodle shop right next to the door, and you can order takeout right from your room. The door has a code, and takeout can go in the elevator. The only thing is a 100 yuan deposit, but it's refunded quickly."

"Datong Taihe Hotel is super convenient, close to Fangte and smooth travel. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was comfortable, the hot water was stable, the front desk was warm and intimate, the price was very high, and I will stay here next time I come to Datong!"

"I found this B&B on the second day after arriving in Shanxi. It completely subverted my understanding of B&Bs. The decoration is simple and elegant, and there are no sanitary blind spots. The house is spacious and bright, with a good view. Well-equipped, convenient transportation, a lot of delicious food downstairs, and stalls with a sense of life. The front desk service is friendly and the parking is free. I love it. I think this is the best experience I've ever had at any hotel. If I have the chance to go to Datong again, I will stay there. "This hotel is located in the heart of the ancient city of Datong. Although there were few steps of staircase leading to the entrance of the hotel and the reception was on level 2 and our room type was only available on the 3rd level. Upon check in the hotel staff by the name of Xiao Guo was very helpful and she helped us to carry our luggages to our room at level 3.. There was a small window in our room overseeing the street. The room was spacious and very clean. All corners, fixtures and furnitures in our room were wiped very clean. All amenities were provided inside the room too. The bed mattress and pillow were soft and very comfortable. Body gel, hair shampoo, hair conditioner, hand wash and clothing detergent were all good quality. 2 water bottles, toothbrush, hair comb and slippers were provided in the room. There were space to hang our winter clothing and also washed socks and inner wears. The air-conditioner was superb as it can be adjusted to 4 types of air:normal, wet reduction, cold air and warm air, hence it made our stay more comfortable. There was also an air freshener machine in the room to refresh the air inside the room. So far this is the cleanest hotel room throughout all my China trips. The housekeeper was friendly and ensure the room being cleaned up daily. Overall, I would like to compliment the hotel staff by the name of Xiao Guo for her hospitality and kindness in helping us when we asked her for any information about Datong and places to eat. Xiao Guo always smilling and her warmness has let us felt very welcomed as a hotel guest. Another compliment was to be given to the housekeeper old lady who really did a great job to ensure the cleanliness of our hotel room and the entire hotel public areas. Highly recommended this hotel to all tourist."

"Traveling alone, I chose a cheap hotel at random, and the result was excellent value for money. The hotel is newly opened, but there is no smell of formaldehyde, and the whole house is smart. Secondly, the room hygiene is particularly in place. The whole house is cleaned thoroughly and there is no dust in the corner. I am very satisfied with this. I used to stay in other hotels. I have to lay my own sheets and quilts. The bathroom is dry and stain-free, the mirror and the sink are shiny, the towels are clean and tidy, and the living is particularly at ease. The front desk service was also very intimate, and the attitude of sending water was super good very late. Although the hotel is not in the ancient city, it is super close. What is the price?"
