"Excellent stay in Dengfeng, best price to value ratio. The room was clvery cosy, and the location is pretty good being close to Zhongyue temple and a short taxi ride away to trails into Mt. Song. One small remark was that the room had smokey air, likely from the previous guest(s). Hence I had to air it out but the air quality still didn't fully get optimal. Other than that; a perfect stay!"

"The owners are incredibly nice. The room was clean and well-maintained. Although the road leading to the guesthouse is a bit steep, the owner offers free shuttle service to and from the Shaolin Temple entrance, which totally solves the road issue! 👍🏻 They even upgraded our room for free, which was much appreciated. There's a TV and Wi-Fi available. The service was excellent. It's about a 10-minute walk to Shaolin Temple. The guesthouse has three floors and an elevator. It's a great choice if you're looking for accommodation near Shaolin Temple."

"I'm a clean freak, so I stayed at the Hanting Hotel. Haha, Hanting's hygiene is definitely top-notch; it was spotless inside and out. The front desk staff were very welcoming, and in addition to the two bottles of drinking water in the room, they also gave me two complimentary bottles of hot water every day. Very convenient, it's a six-minute walk from the bus station, and taxis to several attractions are quick. Highly recommended! Unfortunately, I was too tired from hiking and forgot to take pictures when I got back. Oh, and the breakfast was very plentiful! Spicy soup, porridge, eggs, milk, cold dishes, hot dishes, fried eggs—lots of choices."

"This is a very thoughtful hotel. You don't need a card to turn on the electricity in the room, and the water was already boiling when I came back from dinner. The air conditioning was set to 27 degrees Celsius to keep it warm when I went out, and I felt instantly cool as soon as I entered the room after hiking, drenched in sweat. I forgot to return my room card the day before, and the front desk mailed it back to me through the courier station after closing time. It's only a 7-minute drive to Zhongyue Temple, and very convenient to Songyue Temple Pagoda, Fawang Temple, and Shaolin Temple."

"We had a great experience staying at Heyuan Hotel in Dengfeng. The receptionist was extremely helpful and helped us book taxis to the various tourist attractions and a bus to the high speed train station at the end of our stay. We also got these cards and a note to show the taxi driver so they would know how to find the hotel. Worked perfectly!"

"I stayed for three days and was very happy with my choice – it's close, but very quiet. Easy to find on the map. The landmark is already there – the first photo of the house is in front of the exercise machines. I got a room with two beds. The room quickly warmed up to the right temperature, and the shower has a water heater. The hostess is very friendly and welcoming. If you're lucky, you'll catch a local folk group performing drums outside. For non-foreigners, you can purchase an annual Shaolin Temple pass. I attended the Shaolin monk performance on different days – different teachers, different groups, different experiences. When leaving the gym, don't miss the massage parlor (100 yuan). Then there's the monastery; there's a cable car. If you arrive early, you'll have time to climb up to the Dama Cave (under the golden dome). One day we hiked in the mountains above the hostel – it was so quiet. There's only one road, you can't get lost. I'm very grateful to the owner, I highly recommend her.
