"Great budget room - there was a drip in the bathroom but no other issues. Owners/staff went above and beyond. Helped me to rent a scooter from a business when the apps would not work. Park a short walk away that lights up and has music / dancing on a night. Coffee shop owner outside the hotel was lovely too. If I come back to the area I would stay here for sure."

"The location is super easy to find, and the room is clean and tidy – a really comfortable stay. The owner is incredibly welcoming and honest, and it's excellent value for money. I'll definitely stay here again next time! Highly recommended! What an unexpected surprise on my trip! The facilities are new, and the service is warm. The soundproof windows are particularly impressive; even though it's near the airport, I couldn't hear any noise with the windows closed, and I slept incredibly well. "The family-friendly rooms at this hotel are particularly lovely and clean. I actually viewed the rooms in advance. We booked several rooms for a family banquet, and they offer incredible value for money. The duvets are soft and warm, and the hot water pressure is excellent. It's only about 1km from Guilin North Station, and I live in the apartment complex across the street. Whenever we have guests, they always stay here – it's truly wonderful. There's also a large parking lot right outside, which is a huge plus. I highly recommend it to my friends!"

"I chose Qiyue Audio-Visual Hotel during my business trip to Guilin and it was a great choice! The hotel is a 3-5 minute walk from Guilin Railway Station, which greatly saves commuting time, making it perfect for business travelers. The hotel facilities are new and well-maintained; the appliances and furniture in the room were in perfect condition and easy to use. The cleanliness was excellent; the room was spotless, and the bedding and toiletries were all brand new and disposable. The staff were professional and attentive, providing an excellent experience from check-in to check-out, and any needs were promptly addressed. The audio-visual projector is the biggest highlight—the picture quality is high-definition and detailed, and the sound effects are also good. It even comes with a Migu membership, allowing you to watch a vast amount of content without having to pay extra. "We were very happy with our spacious and nicely appointed rooms. A thoughtful touch was having the sink separate from the bathroom, which added convenience. We also greatly appreciated the kind gesture of the complimentary coffee voucher.
It's worth noting that the air conditioner in one of the two rooms wasn't working at full capacity. However, aside from this single issue, our stay was excellent and we would certainly consider returning."

PPacomundoI really can't recommend Chuxin enough! Before coming, I was worried about the location – whether it was close to restaurants and attractions. But then I saw their dog, Laicai, and decided to book it! And it turned out to be surprisingly good!
**Location:** You can easily get here from the distribution center by taxi or ride-sharing.
1: There are restaurants right across and next door to the hotel, so eating is not an issue at all.
2: You get a beautiful mountain view as soon as you open the door, the air is fantastic, and the surroundings are very quiet.
3: It's close to all the attractions and piers; you can even walk to the Jima Pier. Right next to the hotel is an electric scooter rental place, so it's super convenient to rent in the morning and return at night!
**Service:** The owners are incredibly friendly and even gave us some seasonal sugar oranges, which were delicious! The dog is super cute and not afraid of people at all. I wish the owners good fortune (Lai Cai means 'bring wealth' in Chinese)!

GGuest UserThis guest house left me with mixed feelings. Let's start with the good things. The location is super convenient: right in the old town and yet in a relatively quiet area. It's close to the river so you can take a refreshing night stroll, and close to a delicious bakery/café you'll never forget. The atmosphere of the guest house is rustic and cozy, with a laundry room that, despite its very limited space, serves the purpose. There are also cats and a dog you can freely play with. The bed was comfortable for us (a bit on the harder side). The owners speak English so you can easily communicate with them. They are very kind and helpful.
However, a few things about this stay got me extremely disappointed, particularly taking into consideration the positive reviews I had read (which honestly I don't understand where they came from). The room was far from clean. There was a very visible layer of dust. The cushion seats had huge stains and looked dirty overall. The shower room did not get cleaned very regularly, as you can see from the picture. In general everything in the property looked outdated and cheap (wobbly sink taps, doors with huge gaps, that give way to all sorts of bugs and giant spiders..). The fact that the toilet is next to the shower room leaves no room for privacy and makes the toilet floor wet most of the time (this could be solved with a proper shower door instead of a curtain). In conclusion, I was more than happy to leave the property because it did not meet my standards for comfort and hygiene. However, if you don't particularly care about a certain degree of dirt and dust here and there, and are cool with bugs, then you should definitely go for it as you might really like the retro atmosphere of the place.

GGuest UserOne of the best home stays I’ve stayed in for a while! The owners are so welcoming and the wife went out of her way to make me lovely food, drive me down to the ferry crossing and offer me advice for local hikes.
This is perfect for people who want to get away from the busy and touristy old town. It’s tucked away on the side of a mountain with gorgeous views of the Li river.
There is also an incredible hike up Damian mountain, built by the owners themselves! The owners will give you really easy instructions to reach the steps that take you up to the platform at the top. It’s also on the correct side of the river for the much busier Xianggong sightseeing platform.
Here are a few things to note:
- This is not close to anything else and will require you to get a ferry from Xingping old town for 5 yuan and pay someone to drive you up the mountain to the home stay
- Alternatively you can walk up in about 40 mins which is a very peaceful.
- They have some really friendly pets, a cat and 2 dogs. But just be aware if you’re not an animal person, but the dog will lead you up part of the path for the hike up Damian mountain!

Bed is only a small 'double' and has one useable powerpoint near bed right side + light controls. Aircon works well (only small room so to be expected). Overall, OK for 100 RMB per night, but does have a few issues.
Booked the 'special promotion' room. Trip.com indicates a room size of 12m square metres, which is incorrect. I measured it at 9.5 square, including the bathroom. If including the small balcony (2.5 sq m), the total room area is 12m best case. Only large enough for single occupancy, with small amount of luggage. Two people would need to climb over eachother to move around. No where near enough space for two - luggage would need to be kept outside on the balcony!
Hot water works but is not properly calibrated. Either boiling hot or freezing cold. Extremely difficult to find the right temperature to shower with any comfort. I put full hot, and waited. Water got super hot after 40 seconds. Adjusted to reduce by setting at middle between hot/cold, but water temperature remained super hot. Then pushed to full cold. Water temperature transitioned to cold 29 seconds later. Then put back to middle position but water remained dead cold. Tested this both ways for at least 4 minutes each and remained either scolding hot or freezing cold!!
Hotel provides signs to indicate desire to 'please clean room' and I hang this on outer door handle for two days, but to no avail So can only assume the owners don't provide this service. This establishment is only rated as a 2 star hotel, and given the low price point, you really can't complain - on the condition that the tariff is low. Acceptable for 100 -120 RMB per night. Unacceptable for much more than this though.

GGuest UserAll in all an extremely pleasant stay! The location is absolutely stunning. Sure, it might be a little bit off the beaten track, but the views are all the more rewarding and the hiking path from Dazhai is also highly recommended.
The hotel lobby also functions as a big living room and a little restaurant run by the owners. The food is excellent and well priced (definitely try their rice wine!). Because we were there in winter and it was cold, the owners even put a small radiator under our table to make it comfortable.
Generally, the owners were super nice and friendly and adding their absolutely adorable puppy, we almost couldn't bring ourselves to leave.
The rooms were very clean, have a small separate bathroom and we had a small balcony with view over the rice terraces. For a more budget option there is also rooms without AC or view, in that case you can still enjoy quite a bit of the scenery from the living room downstairs or just by exploring the surroundings on foot. (The picture is shot from our balcony, but sadly some of the view was obscured by the winter mist.)
We will definitely try to come again sometime in summer and are already excited thinking about staying in this hotel again.

Downstairs is the Shizijie Pedestrian Street, where you can easily buy snacks and fruits. The owner occasionally organizes various city tours to less-known destinations, away from typical tour groups, so you might consider joining a group activity. Chara usually appears between 1 PM and 3 PM; it's not a guest, so encountering it requires a bit of luck 🤗

YYanyongqianI arrived in Guilin from Kunming late after 12 am and there is no tourist information counter staff at the airport to tell me where to wait for the hotel's airport transfer driver. Fortunately an airline check-in counter officer helped me call the hotel to find out where to wait for the driver. Please note wait for the driver next to the police kiosk after leaving Gate 6 of the domestic arrival terminal and crossing the lane. It took me 15 minutes to identify the driver because the driver did not show the placard showing the hotel name Shanshuiyunshang Hotel. The driver was impatiently waiting for a foreign tourist. So I identified myself as a Singaporean looking for the transfer driver of the hotel. He replied that I can follow him, who did not declare the hotel's name. Thank God he brought a group of tourists and me to Shanshuiyunshang Hotel to check-in. I also thank God that the driver escorts me to the Airport Flower Field, which is 569 metres away from the hotel, for plane-spotting, and I walk back to the hotel within 10 minutes to check-out of the hotel for my outgoing trip from Guilin after completing my plane-spotting mission. Other than the hotel airport transfer driver, there is the odour of smoke in the room but I have to bear with it until I leave and I cannot access the hotel wifi by scanning the QR code. The hotel restaurant is very small but dragonfruit is served and the breakfast amount is sufficient to fill my hunger. Shanshuiyunshang Hotel is one of several hotels along the road of Liangjiang Town that has accommodation for tourists but this hotel is the only one in Liangjiang Town to be listed on Trip.com. I will stay here again for the purpose of plane-spotting in Liangjiang Town, the famous airport town of Guangxi.

AAnastasiaCh.Super nice place to stay. The lady at the reception who we also think was the owner, was super friendly and professional. She was also speaking in English, which was super nice, as we did not have to use any translation apps like in other hotels. The room was clean and nice, with a balcony. We loved the balcony, as we were sitting during the night and enjoying the sound of nature. The hotel also offers food at the restaurant at the rooftop with a nice view. The location is amazing with people selling things under your balcony, close to the shops and restaurants from one side, whilst also close to the river and all the attractions on the other. Also, this is the exact location where you can go up to Laozhai mountain for the breathtaking view, the hiking route literally starts less than a minute away from the hotel. (P.S. please make sure you understand that the way up the mountain is very steep, with no build steps/stair, we literally climb up rocks - do not go when its dark). Thank you to the hotel for the amazing stay.

Maybe the location is a bit far from the center, but there's buses near by taking you to the old center in about 20 mins. GGuest UserThe view from the ”Premium Double Room” is fake - the hotel admitted to adding the karst mountains during ”post-production”. Do not book the room if you want dual aspect views onto the famous karst mountains (one side of the room faces some mountains (good view), but the other side faces some buildings).
When we raised their falsification on the advertisement with the reception they admitted to faking the views, and we were able to negotiate electric bike rental as compensation.
However, overall the hotel is good. 20 minute walk into city centre, clean, friendly staff, and a decent view (even if not as advertised) from some rooms. Good for the price!
I wouldn't normally comment on this, but given the other issues we faced it seems that this hotel manager is as opportunistic as possible to exploit and sort change guests. When we arrived, we were given a downgraded room (i.e. facing a concrete wall). When we raised it was the downgraded one we asked for the room we had booked (double aspect windows with the view of the mountains). She was able to give us that room, but as I already explained the photograph of the room advertised contains fake imagery to deceive guests. I hope they change this in the future so that other guests are not deceived like us.
Regarding the compensation for staying in the hotel despite the false advertising, we had negotiated free electric bike rental for one and a half days, and a ¥20 discount to be collected at the end. (They only accepted after I threatened to write an honest review and complain to Trip.com). Unfortunately, on the last day they didn't let us use the e-bike because it was drizzling (only in the morning, it was a bright sunny day for the rest of the day), and then they refused to refund the ¥20 as agreed on the basis that we'd used the e-bikes for half a day (the previous afternoon).
(I have written evidence (via my translation app history) of all of this should the hotel respond and say that I'm not telling the truth).
I am sharing a REAL photo of the room so future guests are aware of the view. I recommend that the hotel improves the honesty of their advertising.
