"Pet-friendly, which was great! Just a heads-up for the next guest reading this: the navigation can be a bit off. When you're getting close, give the hotel a call. I got led into a dead-end this time with no room to turn around, and had to back out (cars parked on both sides of the alley). After a 10-hour drive, I was pretty beat and had to ask the staff for help."

"When driving to Kashgar Old City, I usually park at Kunlun Tower. The hotel is conveniently located directly across the street from the parking lot, making it easy to find. The front desk service was excellent. I left a piece of clothing on the first day, and it was still there when I returned on the third day. Very impressive!"
"I ended up staying three nights. It's a very nice hostel. The staff is kind and helpful. The facilities get cleaned every day. It's located not too far from the old town and in a very quiet neighborhood. There are still restaurants and many shops close by. The wifi is slow and not always working but you can do laundry for free. I was glad to be in the dorm room on the third floor to get some fresh air in the room:)"

"I don't recommend staying in a capsule room. There are usually more men in mixed-gender rooms, and smoking and drinking are the norm. Most Uyghur **zang smoke. If there are any issues, the Han Chinese owner will just tell them off, but won't change rooms. He'll just make excuses, saying there aren't enough women staying in capsule rooms, and I can't leave the room empty. If you don't care about female customers, why mix genders? 😂 What does it have to do with me whether you have a room available or not? My stay was terrible. I couldn't get a room with more women, no smoke, and a quieter room. The beautiful Uyghur front desk clerk said I checked in at noon and couldn't change. It was hilarious. There weren't any Uyghur guys drinking, smoking, or singing shirtless at noon. 😂 If you want good service, don't consider this place."
"It's quite close to the old town, and there are plenty of restaurants near the hostel (you can find local cuisine, barbecue, Sichuan food, etc.). Ordering takeout is also very convenient. You can also stroll around the nearby alleys and chat with the locals. What I like most is that the hostel is separated by gender; men are on the first floor, and women are on the second. The slippers are sterilized in a disinfection cabinet, and there are washing machines and dryers. I can see the cleaning lady cleaning every day, which is great."

"This hotel boasts an excellent location, almost directly opposite the century-old teahouse, placing it right in the heart of the ancient city. Male dorms are on the second floor, female dorms on the third, and the rooftop is on the fourth. The hotel is home to several adorable cats, including British Shorthairs and a 'Big Orange' (ginger cat). The price is incredibly reasonable; a few tens of yuan in Kashgar is a fantastic deal, in my opinion. I personally saw the quilts, pillowcases, and sheets being changed for new ones! They even smelled like they'd been sun-dried. The room was very quiet at night, with no noise allowed inside. I'm very satisfied! Highly recommend!"

"The room is relatively simple. I have traveled to many places alone. The room of this B&B is relatively large. The shower, toilet and washing area in the bathroom are all separated. The spiral staircase is very distinctive. You can feel the different characteristics of the Western Region Inn as soon as you enter the door. The receptionist enthusiastically helped me carry my luggage. I will stay here again if I have the chance to come to Kashgar next time. It is worth recommending!"

"I'd like to highlight the pros of this hotel from several aspects:
1. **Great Value:** The price is affordable, offering excellent value for money.
2. **Prime Location:** It's very close to attractions, just 50 meters from the west entrance of Kashgar Old City and a mere 150 meters to the famous Century-Old Teahouse – incredibly convenient.
3. **Excellent Transportation:** Getting around is easy. A ride-share from the airport costs only 15 yuan. If taking public transport from the airport, you can catch bus No. 2 to Sizhong Bus Station, then transfer to bus No. 6 or No. 20 and get off at China Telecom Station. From there, turn left and walk back about 100 meters to reach the hotel at Kumudaiwazha Road No. 76. If coming from the train station, take bus No. 20 to China Telecom Station, cross the pedestrian bridge, and you'll find the hotel at Kumudaiwazha Road No. 76.
4. **Dining & Amenities:** There are many local ethnic restaurants surrounding the inn; you just need to walk downstairs. A notable perk is the abundance of fruit vendors below the inn, selling fresh and inexpensive fruit.
5. **Facilities & Environment:** The hotel is well-equipped, clean, and tidy, with a pleasant environment. The staff's service is particularly outstanding. If I ever visit Kashgar again, I will definitely stay here! And I'll certainly recommend it to any friends visiting Kashgar!"

TTravis and ElishaWow! What an amazing place to stay and how lucky we were to find it. By far the best place we stayed in China. Mrs. Li (the owner) was so genuinely nice and caring, and we felt like part of the family staying there. One of my favorite things in Kashgar was hanging out with her and her family in the evenings. She always invited us at night to hangout in the common area where she would make us tea and share her fresh and dried fruits with us. She was really good at using a translator app, so we were able to have a good conversation with her through that.
She has a great little family. Her son speaks good English and was also very nice. She had a young daughter who also speaks English, but is more shy with it (though she will sing you a Taylor Swift song..she has a great voice). They have 3 cats and the youngest one, little tiger, is just the sweetest and the friendliest cat I have ever met.
It was such a good and warm feeling to stay there. We definitely wish we could visit again. A home away from home. And we were treated so generously in more ways than we can write here.
Mrs. Li asked us right away if there was anything she could help us with, without us having to ask, which we really appreciated, and she took the time to sit down with us to go over our plans. She let us store our luggage for 3 days and walked us out to help us get a taxi when we departed.
While it was the family that made it simply amazing, some might also be interested in the following information.
The location is great. On a quiet street. Close to the big mosque which is a good landmark to use to find the area. And of course close to the old city. It's also really close to the biggest supermarket we have found thus far in China (we have to admit it was nice to get a few ”luxuries” from home like cereal and hot chocolate).
The guesthouse is cute and has a Central Asian feel. The shower works great and is hot. We were there in the winter, and the room has heat if you needed it. Mrs. Li was able to arrange a driver for us to go to Tashkorgun and the Karakorum Highway, which was super helpful. The place was nice and clean.
Thank you so much Mrs. Li! You will be a highlight of our visit to China and will be remembered in our hearts forever.

PS: when we get home I'm going to try to write up a bit about our trip on Tripadvisor because I couldn't find anything about Kashgar on trip advisor since covid, and some things have changed, so I thought it might be helpful for fellow travelers, so look for that.

GGuest UserCame to Kashgar with friends on motorcycles and stayed at 'Guren Gui' – best decision ever! The landlady is an amazing cook, and you can join in for shared meals. Parking is super easy right outside the courtyard. Plus, there are mulberries and figs you can pick freely.
There were also a lot of foreigners here, and chatting with them was really fun. The hostel common area is huge and super comfy on the first floor, not hot at all, and you can even sing and dance together.
GGuest UserIt was a very satisfying living experience. The boss was easygoing and friendly. I also liked the style of the room. There was no peculiar smell, it was very clean, and it was very comfortable to live in. Frankly speaking, this was the most comfortable place I stayed in during my two-week trip to Xinjiang. It had the cleanliness and tidiness of a hotel, but with some human touch, like visiting a friend's home. The most important thing was that I met a little puppy who liked me and I liked him very much too. Next time I come to Xinjiang, I will stay at his house again and visit my little friend.
AaimeswongPoet Song is an amazing place!
Location: Very convenient. Short 10 minute Didi taxi ride (10rmb) to the ancient city. Or can take bus (2 RMB) 15mins. From Airport Didi 15 mins (20 RMB).
Room: The room is clean, with fast wifi, very cool aircon, smart lights and curtains. Has all the amenities you need: kettle, great hairdryer and each day will have basic room cleaning and you get new toiletries and bottled water.
Besides the comfort of the room, what makes this place really great are the staff. From the moment you arrive, they come out to greet you, take you into their cozy reception room and check you in while enjoying fruits and/or Xinjiang nut snacks. Not all staff spoke English but any translation app will do and they all are so willing to help. They gave very valuable advice of places to visit so ask them any questions! The owner can speak English and I'm sure you will get to meet him as he is very hands on and around everyday to make sure all his guests are taken care of and enjoying their stay. He is a great guy and I believe is the real reason what makes this hotel so good!
When I come back to Kashi/Kashgar, no hesitation I will definitely stay at this hotel. Highly recommend!!!
Oh there are also three adorable cats!
AAnonymous UserThe location of the homestay is particularly good. It takes a few steps to enter the ancient city. It is also close to a very classic punching point. The architectural style outside is superb! The homestay has a large rooftop and public space. You can drink tea and snacks when you are free. In short, it is very casual and comfortable! The young lady at the homestay is also super nice! It's been a great help!

GGuest UserVery good. This is the most affordable and best B&B I have stayed in during this trip to Xinjiang. The hygiene is very good, the bed is very comfortable, quiet and comfortable. Also equipped with hand sanitizer and soap. Regular shampoo, shower gel and conditioner make it very comfortable to wash your hair and take a shower. It’s only 10 minutes away from the ancient city of Kashgar by shared electric bike.
GGuest UserA store that will not step on thunder at all, everyone can rest assured, there is basically no difference from the description, the decoration is very ethnic! The homestay is in the ancient city, very close to the Kunlun Tower, and you can see the entire Kunlun Tower next to the homestay! In the evening, the performance of the heart of Kashgar is right next to it, a very good performance. I went to see the opening ceremony and it was very beautiful. The ancient city of Kashgar is really a very good place. It is worth mentioning that the boss was very enthusiastic and invited us to dinner, and the hotel was cleaned very cleanly. Guli at the front desk came to the parking lot to pick us up and took the initiative to send us when we left. It feels like my own family!

EemdethuongI wanted some place inside the Old City that accepts foreigners. This one does accept foreigners, for all foreign travellers out there. The homestay I booked was closed unnoticed. I showed up at the place completely getting confused. But after some body languages later I finally found some help on the street to talk to the owner through phone. He came to pick me and took me to another homestay of his sister which is also in the Old City complex. The room was smaller than the one I booked but I agreed to stay anyway. Trip Customer Service contacted later to apologize for the inconvenience amd compensate me with Trip coins which I was fine with. The home owner (Han people) was warm and welcoming so I will leave the unlucky event off my mind. All convos between me and the owner are via translation app since no one speaks English and it is all going well. Helpful people.
The first photo was the Jingyi homestay which was closed for the season. The rest of the photos were the other homestay within the Old City complex that I was taken to, not far from Jingyi.

Jjack20eLong Ruiyun Hotel is well-located, directly opposite the old city and next to the mosque, with convenient shopping and dining nearby. The rooms are compact, with simple yet practical furniture, bright lighting, and strong shower pressure. However, the hotel lobby is on a mezzanine level, requiring guests to use stairs, which can be inconvenient for those with large luggage. The room's internet was not working, and despite reporting it, it wasn't fixed during our two-day stay. Additionally, there were oversights in room cleaning and facility maintenance checks.
