Find 2-Star Hotels in Matsuyama

"The hotel was conveniently located with easy access from the station. There was a direct tram to Dogo Onsen departing at 6:10 AM from the tram station near the hotel, which was perfect for a morning bath. The room was a bit compact for two people, but spacious enough for just sleeping. Also, amenities (shampoo, hangers, etc.) were available for loan in the lobby on the first floor, which was very convenient and helpful."

"I booked a 3-person (4-person) room with a mattress, and it was nice that the room was spacious enough and had a separate space to organize my suitcases. There was an induction stove and kettle, so I was able to make tea or simply eat cup ramen. The room was very clean and the blanket was thick. If you are traveling as a family of three, I would definitely recommend this room. There is a large supermarket a 3-minute walk away, so it is easy to shop and there are many convenience foods. It's an 8-minute walk from downtown Dogo Onsen, but it's closer than it looks on the map. It is a distance that you can easily walk to the hot springs late at night. If your goal is a hot spring, I highly recommend it. I traveled all on foot, and it takes about 20 minutes to walk to Matsuyama Castle Cable and about 30 minutes to Okaido. The downside was that there were no staff fluent in English, but it wasn't a big problem. He was kind and made an effort to explain the room well in a mix of English, Japanese, and Korean. thanked! I want to visit again next time^^"

"Location is great! Less than 5 minutes walk to Matsuyama JR station. There was no staff at the counter in the morning. Although you can contact them with phone call, it's inconvenience for foreigners. I arrived in the morning and needed luggage check-in. Ended up leaving my luggage by myself in the corner of the lobby where several other luggages were left. Good thing there is 24hr video surveillance pointing at the luggage area and one can chain-lock the luggage to the rail shelf. Suggest to bring a chain-lock if you need to leave luggage there. Check-in was easy and staff was friendly. Room is accessed via physical key, not RFID card like commonly seen today in hotels. I booked single room. There is no tea kettle, tea bags, coffee, or drinking water inside the room. All those ammenities are at the lobby. Hot/cold water is only available from a portable water dispenser. I was really surprised that it is not allowed to refill the water with your own bottle (or any resuable bottle). The staff told me it is for hygenie concerns. One can only use the provided tiny paper cup (50~70ml in volume) to get water or make coffee/tea. And it is not allowed to eat/drink in the lobby area. So you have to hold the tiny cup and go back to your room to consume it. Very inconvenient to me. They offer 2 kinds of set menu for breakfast: chicken congee and sea bream rice soup (Tai-chazuke). I had the later and it was delicious. Overall, the stay met my expectations with price I paid except for the inconvenience in getting hot water for making tea or coffee myself. If I ever travel to Matsuyama bymyself again, I'll definitely consider staying in this place again. But I won't recommend it for couple or family stay though."

"It is located right in front of the Dogo Onsen Main Building. It is a quiet, old building, but it is well-maintained. I don't think there is a better place to stay in Matsuyama for a solo traveler. It is a dormitory, but I couldn't sleep well because there was someone who kept coughing. I think a private room might be better for those who are very sick."

"It was great! If there is a match in Matsuyama next year, I will stay! The hot springs were the best and the hot springs in the room were the best! I was really saved because I brought meals to my room. I would definitely like to stay again!"

"Very good Japanese breakfast, salad, grilled fish, pickles, egg rolls, miso soup. 2 kilometers from the airport, the taxi only costs about 1,000 yen"

"The hotel itself feels more like a business hotel, but it's perfect for anyone just looking for a place to sleep, especially since it includes a free ticket to the Dogo Onsen main building and is very reasonably priced compared to other hotels in the area. They also have dispensers for tea and coffee, and the location near the station was very convenient."

"Really nice and quiet place. The owner is also a very kind person. Right next to the dogo onsen. The guests are mostly japanese onsen visitors and some buddhist pilgrims so the place is rather quiet in the evenings, good for those who will relax a little."

"少し不気味なホテルでしたが、何事もなく無事に宿泊する事ができました。立地も良かったですが、近くの駐車場は高かったので、少し遠くに停めて歩いた方が良いかもしれません。"

"If you aren’t a smoker. This place isn’t for you. Everything smells strong of cigarettes but that’s to be expected for a business hotel. The room was clean and the amenities were great. Staff were helpful and parking was easy."
