There are several restaurants nearby, including a great ramen shop and a sushi restaurant called Minato sushi by the harbor that I highly recommend. One unexpected highlight was discovering the manga in the room. The title was Kore Kaite Shine, which is set on Izu Oshima. I learned that the author often stays at KON, and the protagonist’s home was reportedly modeled after the guesthouse itself. What started as an unexpected change of plans turned into a fantastic stay. The warm hospitality, comfortable accommodations, and unique local charm made this a memorable experience. I would gladly stay at KON again on my next visit to Izu Oshima."
