"This ryokan is the furthest from Main Street. But I love the hospitality from the owner and the authenticity of this place. There is a private onsen available in the ryokan, just need to pre register. They provide access to shibu onsen as well. Recommended to book your dinner with them. Restaurants in shibu onsen either close very early or not open regularly. We missed our dinner, but the owner is kind enough to prepare a simple oyakudon for us. Though this place is at the beginning of forest trail to snow monkey park. But it is close during winter. Just take note."

"Unexpected Treasure Family Hotel . Because I arrived at the hotel early, there was no one at the front desk, and there was an old grandfather who came out to receive the bell at the front desk. Because the time was early and I couldn't check in, I stored my luggage. The owner's grandmother drove me to the Snow Monkey Park. It's not very far from the snow monkey to the store on the return trip. If you don't want to go, you can take the bus down the mountain. The day of check-in was New Year's Eve, and the stores in the hot spring town were almost resting. There are two supermarkets that bought fruit and beer to prepare to nest in the hotel. When you arrive at the hotel, you need to carry your luggage into the room. Because the elderly's legs and feet are not very convenient. The Japanese dinner of the day was very rich. Too much to eat. I ordered two bottles of wine for more than 100 yuan. Tangtianzhong is very cost-effective. Have the opportunity to come again."

"Located just within 3min from Yudanaka station, Raki Onsenryokan is run by a Chinese family. As a quiet town on its own, no one was tending to the reception when I arrived, after ringing the bell, a lady came down to help with the check in - very straightforward. I believe the family stays in the same building as they said if we ever needed anything, we could just ring the bell at the reception. Obviously I had booked a room too big for a solo traveller as this was the only room left as ”non-smoking”. Toilet and sink are at two different parts of the room which was a little inconvenient. Ryokan offers free drive (15min) TO snow monkey park, but not return, so please cater at least 35min to walk from park exit to the bus stop. Ryokan also provided a hearty breakfast, overall for the price paid it was a decent stay!"

"The host was wonderful. He explained everything and provided free transfers to the monkeys and the train station. The room was also fine. The only thing was the figurines and other things on the shelves were very dusty. Everything else was very clean: the linens were clean, the futons were comfortable, and the blankets were warm. Overall, I recommend it."

"The hosts — an elderly couple — were incredibly warm and welcoming. From the moment we arrived, they treated us like family, always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. The property is a bit dated, but that only adds to its charm. It has a cozy, homey feel that you rarely find in modern accommodations. "The hostess of this store is very young and beautiful, with a smile! The temperament is very good 👌👍! I visited this ”Hot Spring Street” and it was indeed the price of this ”Ape” Youth Hostel! "I stayed for two nights. The bathwater was too hot; even though it's a hot spring, it wasn't relaxing. I knew it would be hot beforehand, but it was much hotter than I imagined. I suppose that's the selling point of Shibu Onsen's free-flowing hot spring, but still... Also, the shower pressure was practically zero, making it unusable for washing hair. Since you can't wash yourself in the public baths, I wish the shower in the inn was in usable condition. The futon in the room was literally a 'senbei futon' (thin as a cracker). It was so thin it felt like it was for a prison. My body ached from sleeping on it, and I woke up many times throughout the night; a good night's sleep was far from achieved. I was tired from visiting the public baths, so I managed to sleep eventually, but... Regarding the meals, I knew in advance that the content wouldn't vary much between the two days, but the similar ingredients and cooking methods were a bit disappointing. While the portions were ample, I wouldn't say it was delicious. The proprietress's service was polite and left a good impression. The tiled communal sinks and toilets inside the building had a retro charm and felt cozy. However, I think the facilities should be updated for a more comfortable stay. Overall, I found the ambiance of the entire Shibu Onsen area wonderful, which was a plus. But all in all, I don't think I'll be repeating my stay at Shiroganeya."

"The hotel itself was very clean and had been repainted from an old inn, which was nice. However, at check-in, there was no one at the reception desk, and it took several attempts using the intercom before someone finally appeared. At check-out, although payment was specified as ”payment on arrival,” I couldn't meet with anyone at the reception desk, and couldn't reach them by phone, resulting in a double payment (although I did receive a refund...). There were a series of problems, including misunderstandings between me and the hotel. The payment instructions from the travel website and the hotel were different (the former instructed ”payment on arrival,” while the hotel instructed ”direct debit”), leaving me with nothing but a negative experience."

"Since it was cheaper than other ryokans in the area, I didn’t expect much. But to my surprise, it offered full service—just like the more expensive ryokans I’ve stayed at before! They even provided a pickup service from the train station, which I forgot to book. Luckily, a Western couple sitting next to me on the train had reserved it. When I saw the “Hotel Housei” sign on the van outside the station, I hopped in! The hotel is a bit far from the station and involves walking up and down hills, so carrying luggage all the way would have been quite tough. I was really fortunate to catch that ride! Cherry blossoms were in full bloom along the river, just a few steps from the hotel—such a beautiful sight. The room wasn’t large, but it had enough space and was very comfortable. The elderly gentleman at the front desk seemed to speak multiple languages—he even knew some Thai! He was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The onsen was wonderful. The indoor bath was a bit too hot for me, but the outdoor bath was cooler and more relaxing. Breakfast was a buffet, which was decent. In conclusion, this place was absolutely worth it. Next time, if I go skiing in Shiga Kogen or bring someone to see the snow monkeys, I’ll definitely remember to book the pick-up and drop-off service in advance!"

The hotel is at the intersection of the first cable car and the second cable car in the new horizontal hand ski resort, about 1800 meters above sea level. So the view is wide and the scenery is very good. The hotel can also rent ski gear and ask ski instructors, but make an appointment in advance. There are full of young people everywhere. Of course there are people from all over the world who come to enjoy the powder snow here. The boss drove his snow motorcycle to pick us up and it was very windy. I hope to provide a paid motorcycle sightseeing project.

Stayed at this homestay for a few days during the Spring Festival and it feels really great. The proprietress is very very friendly. The rice is also delicious. The hot spring in the hotel is also great and very convenient. The location here is about an hour’s drive from the ski resort, and there is a shuttle bus every day, which is quite convenient. The room is clean, warm and comfortable. Although it is a public restroom, I did not feel any inconvenience. My favorite is to go back to the hot springs for bathing after skiing every day.

地點: 溫泉鄉裡, 來這裡的都是在這附近住, 最多差5-10min走路, 沒差別 整潔度: 床舖應該是有洗過但洗衣機估計不太乾淨, 床舖有很多頭髮和碎毛線, 其他整體還可以 服務: 正常態度, 大堂長期有人在 設施: 有個室內溫泉, 但溫度挺高的, 不是浸習慣了溫泉的不太受得了, 我浸了五分鐘就得起來了 整體: 除了床舖很多毛髮外其他都可以接受, 畢竟價格放在這, 但希望洗衣機能定期清潔或換台能去毛髮的.

Shiga no yu is all about attentive, good hearted, genuine good service. We loved the 70s vibe of the place. It is charming 70s style all the way. The meals provided were wonderful! Great portions, taste and variety! Each meal was different! The onsen was perfect at the end of each muscle weary day from skiing. Dont expect top of the range ski rentals so if that’s important to you, bring your own. But if not, just enjoy the intimate style of the place and the many ski hills to explore starting with the chair lift right outside the hotel’s door!

It’s the photos taken by mobile phones inside and outside the store. The small hotel run by the old couple is not far from the Yudanaka tram terminal. In the town of hot springs, it’s good to have a 24-hour hot spring bathhouse. The owner is very good. Gentle was able to personally drive us to the foot of the mountain in the Wild Monkey Park to see the monkeys washing in the hot springs. It is a lot more convenient for us. Shared toilets are the place I am least used to, but overall I am satisfied.

Great location close to all the small public baths. A bit far from the main station but still walkable or reachable by bus. The room is clean and cozy with very old Ryokan vibes. The hotel itself has a private bath and public bath with shower. Not very clean but ok. I guess depends on what time you use it. The breakfast is nice and simple, really enjoyed it. You can walk to the monkey park from here.

They do not have air conditioning or a heater in the room. This is the first time I’ve encountered this in Nagano or in accommodation around a ski area (I ski every week). The floor heating is insufficient and does not warm the room at all. It was freezing at night. On top of that, the mattress is uncomfortably hard and the blanket is very heavy. Even after a long day of skiing, I barely managed to sleep. And the next morning, my whole body was sore. Aside from the sleep issues, everything else was acceptable.
