"It was a rainy day when I arrived in Porto and saw a very sad city, but it was still incredibly beautiful. Susana, the person in charge of the hostel when I arrived, was the best part of the stay, kind, smiling, she reminded me that, even on days like this, the sun is always there. I will definitely come back. Recommendation: always bring earplugs: choosing a female room to avoid snoring is a dream. We snore too😂"

"This place is so relaxing to stay in! It’s a super nice little cafe with the rooms in the back through locking doors for easy access and security. The service is mostly seen outside your room as there isn’t much to be serviced inside, either way they were very friendly and helpful with menus in different languages and all that. The facilities for our room were all you needed, our “bunks” being cubby’s in the wall with lots of space and a locking compartment below for bags or valuables. The bathroom is tight compared to what I was used to in Canada, but it has your toilet, sink, and shower. What more do you need? Lastly the food was very very good, this was our first stay on our trip from Canada so maybe it’s normal here but it is so fresh and simply tasted awesome! Highly recommend!"

"Arguably the best hostel experience ever. From the check in to the free breakfast and lockers. The bed was super comfortableand the shared bathrooms had enough privacy. I could leave my bags before check in for free. Walkable to the main attractions and close to the main shopping area. Definitely changed my mind about hostels."

"We booked this room last minute.. The manager was very accommodating and even included a complimentary breakfast in our room rate, even though it would have a 5 euro charge extra. The beds were very comfortable, the bathroom squeaky clean. The hotel is not in the city centre, but the centre is not far , easily reached by metro, 2 stops away, or a 15min downhill stroll. The decor is somewhat dated overall, but it gives the property the quaint air of a countryside pousada even though it is located in Porto city."

"The hotel is located at the intersection of six MRT lines, making it very convenient to go anywhere! The hotel currently does not have a restaurant to cooperate with the outside restaurant for breakfast, so the format is fixed and a bit monotonous! The room is relatively small, and the cleaning of the floor needs to be improved! Basically, if it is a business location, it is very convenient! "

"I stayed at Pensao França Hostel and overall had a good experience. The hostel is clean, although the room size is quite small, which is typical for backpackers. They provide both small and large towels, as well as body soap and hand soap. There was a slight urine smell when I first arrived, but it disappeared after the bathroom was used. The bathroom has a shower with both hot and cold water available. The room is also equipped with a fan. A microwave and an electric kettle are available for shared use on the second floor. The hostel has three floors and no elevator. The owner lives on the second floor and is very kind and friendly to talk to. Since the hostel is located near restaurants and bars, there can be some noise from outside. However, once the windows are closed and especially when you are tired, it is not too disturbing. The location is very convenient, as it is within walking distance of Porto city center."

"Hotel Vice-Rei is about 10 minutes away. walking distance from the Casa da Música metro station, so getting to the old center of Porto with its main attractions (and the airport) is not the slightest problem. Right behind the hotel there is a very large hall with several dozen bars (restaurants) open until 24:00. So there is no problem even with a late dinner :-) The room we occupied was large and well-equipped. The only thing missing was a cordless kettle (but that's just a detail). First of all, the room was clean and the beds were very comfortable! We also enjoyed breakfast. The selection may not have been amazing, but everything was tasty and fresh. There was something ”sweet” (traditionally for those from the south of Europe, i.e. sweet rolls, jam) and something ”salty” (traditionally for those from the north of Europe, i.e. cheese, cold cuts). As for the hotel service, it was fantastic! Both at the reception and during breakfast. And the staff cleaning the rooms, who can be seen every day and make sure that your stay is also a success! So from our experience, we recommend Hotel Vice-Rei!"

"Loves this hostel but no lift, kitchen is a underground floor, have cooking facility, breakfast is euro three but only bread with jam butter n cheese. Hot drink teh coffee and milk. No eggs no yoghurt. No fruits. Dormitory Room is big with toilet inside. Location is very good. Near to Sao Bento metro. A lot of shopping area around the hostel. Very good, will stay there again. Housekeeping is well kept. Staff is friendly and helpful. We stay four days three nights there."
