"South-facing double room with an amazing balcony! Absolutely worth the price. You get a direct view of the snow-capped mountains and slopes, and sitting on the balcony in the evening feels fantastic. Slippers are provided. It's the first building next to the train station, so the location is superb and surprisingly quiet. The soundproofing is also good; the only noise was a creaking sound when the next-door neighbors opened and closed their balcony door. The stay was quite comfortable. The breakfast wasn't great; there wasn't much to eat, just two slices of toast, some eggs, and a drink. The restaurant food was also just okay, I still couldn't get used to it."

"I ended up booking a hostel bed because it was the only option left, and honestly, I was dreading it beforehand. Little did I know, my 'dream hill' would turn into a 'nightmare hill'! So, I accidentally missed my train in Switzerland (maybe couldn't find it, or got off at the wrong stop), which meant a 30-60 minute delay... and then I missed the hostel's last bus. I thought, '15-minute walk, no big deal, a little uphill is fine.' But it wasn't just a simple uphill, it was an incredibly steep climb! Dragging a 40lb suitcase left me utterly defeated. The front desk guy was busy checking in other guests (yep, only one staff member there), so he couldn't come help me halfway up the mountain until after 10 PM. Big thanks to the Trip.com customer service who kept me company on the phone during that time (it was so quiet on the hillside, not a soul around)... When I finally got to the hostel, I found out it was mixed-gender dorms. First time sharing a room with a bunch of guys, scared me to death! 🤯 The snoring was... well, hilarious haha 😂. Still, I'm grateful. That luggage was seriously heavy; I spent 7 minutes hauling it up the mountain, completely exhausted and burnt out. The next day was my birthday, and the front desk guy, with a bright smile, wished me 'Happy birthday,' as if last night's nightmare had truly just been a dream."

"We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Weisses Kreuz and would highly recommend it. The location is absolutely excellent — right in the heart of town with everything within walking distance. There are plenty of amenity shops, restaurants, and attractions just steps away, making it incredibly convenient. Parking was straightforward as well. There is nearby parking available, and payment applies from 7am onwards. We found the parking spaces to be relatively spacious, which was a plus. Cars can’t really drive into the hotel so we were a bit lost initially The receptionist was such an amazing lady — warm, welcoming, and professional. She kindly upgraded us to a corner room that was bigger than what we had originally booked, which we really appreciated. The room itself was comfortable, and we especially loved having a bathtub — it made the stay extra relaxing after a long day out. They were very thoughtful. They gave us chocolate on the bed. Thats sweet. There are lift for our heavy luggage as well. Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of choices. Considering that breakfast is included in the price, we felt it was very good value for money. The only small note is that the corridor lighting is quite dim, which can make it feel a little heavy or subdued. However, the overall atmosphere of the hotel is vibrant and lively, with what seemed like a high occupancy rate — clearly a popular choice. Overall, this is a very well-located, comfortable hotel offering great value. We would gladly stay here again."

"The location was incredibly convenient, just a one-minute walk from Grindelwald station. There was also a Coop supermarket a minute's walk away. Coffee and tea were available 24/7. The room itself was very small, but it had a spacious balcony where we could relax comfortably. There was a refrigerator, but no air conditioning. From around 2 PM to 6 PM, if the weather was good, the room got uncomfortably hot. Even with a fan, I was sweating. However, it was nice and cool at night if we left the window open. Breakfast was delicious, especially the croissants – they were so good I had two! There were also other options like yogurt, ham, and eggs. The staff were very kind."

Air conditioning is a definite plus during the warmer spring and summer months, keeping the rooms cool and comfortable. Breakfast is satisfying enough to start the day, but could have more variety. "Great Value & Perfect Base for Interlaken – Hotel Essential by DORITStayed at Hotel Essential by DORIT, it was exactly what we needed for exploring Interlaken.Location: 10/10. You’re 3 min walk from Interlaken West station and right by Lake Thun. Super easy to catch trains to Lauterbrunnen, Grindelwald, or hop on a boat cruise. Tons of restaurants, Coop, and cafés within a 5 min walk. You can’t beat it for convenience.Room: Clean, modern, and smartly designed. We had a Double Room and it made great use of space — comfortable bed, blackout curtains, and a surprisingly good shower with strong water pressure. Not huge, but perfect for travelers who are out all day. The views of the mountains from upper floors are a bonus.Cleanliness: Spotless. Housekeeping did a great job daily, and the whole property feels fresh and new. Breakfast: Simple but quality. Good coffee, fresh bread, cheese, cold cuts, yogurt, and fruit. The breakfast room is small but cozy, with big windows. For the price, it’s more than fair. Service: Check-in was smooth and staff were friendly + efficient. They gave solid tips for hikes and printed our train tickets when we asked. The self-check-in kiosk is also handy if you arrive late.Vibe: Minimalist Swiss design with a boutique feel. No pool or spa, but that’s not why you stay here — you’re here to be out in the Jungfrau region all day. The common lounge area is great for planning routes or chilling with a coffee.Minor notes: Walls are a bit thin — we could hear doors closing at night. Also no elevator, so pack light if you’re on a higher floor. Street parking is limited, but the hotel helped us sort a public lot nearby.Overall: For the location, cleanliness, and price point, Hotel Essential by DORIT is hard to beat in Interlaken. "We had low expectations with this hotel due to previous reviews. Upon arrival, we were a little disappointed that there wasn’t anyone in the reception until 3:01pm. Other than that, the room was a little dim, but clean and they do day cleaning and top up of room. There is a smart TV and water heater which were useful. Breakfast was average. We like that there is a pantry with free snacks for guests. The location was superb!"

"I went to ski trip ~ I also say hello to the friendly and lovely staff. There is a bus stop No. 102 nearby, which is also very close to interlaken ost. It's a hotel with a Swiss feel. The friendly staff is also very comfortable to travel. Small but full breakfast is happiness in the morning. 🥰🥰🥰 How to get around Please kindly tell me if you can tour. The room is clean and cold winter, but the room is also very warm. 🩷🩷 The landscape that you can see from below is in a high ground, and it's expressed in words. "Right next to Wengen station, very convenient for moving around the Jungfrau area. The village itself was beautiful and peaceful, with amazing mountain views everywhere. We had a room with mountain view as well, which made the stay feel extra nice. The room itself was quite standard, but overall still a good stay."

"The hotel is super easy to find, just a 3-5 minute walk from Interlaken West Station. From West Station, you can buy tickets to anywhere, and it's also very close to the boat pier, making the location really convenient. They offer free luggage storage too. The building itself is a bit old, so the facilities aren't super modern, but the bedding was dry and pretty clean. Room 4 gets sun from two sides and is great for ventilation when you open the windows, so it was quite comfortable. Breakfast is simple but they have boiled eggs, which are a must for refueling. There are fresh food supermarkets nearby for plenty of supplies. Oh, and the ice cream shop in town is delicious, highly recommend it!"
