The overall style is an elegant modern Chinese courtyard, offering a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. While the ancient streets and alleys outside are lively, the courtyard is peaceful and serene. After visiting Huayan Temple and the Prince Dai's Mansion, you can relax in the courtyard, enjoying the breeze and taking beautiful photos. The owner's thoughtfulness is a major plus. They provide free pick-up service from the high-speed rail station. With my elderly relatives carrying a lot of luggage, they were waiting on time and helped with the luggage the whole time. They even proactively recommended gentler routes suitable for seniors, saving us the trouble of planning the trip ourselves. The rooms were very clean and tidy, with meticulous attention to hygiene. The breakfast was also excellent – ​​clean, delicious, and our elders were very satisfied, significantly enhancing our travel experience! The guesthouse has a fantastic location, very close to Huayan Temple, Foxiaoban Cultural and Creative Park, and the Prince Dai's Mansion. After watching the iron flower performance in the evening, a walk back to the guesthouse was not tiring at all. The service was meticulous and thoughtful throughout, without any commercial gimmicks. This is the top choice for visiting Datong Ancient City, and I would definitely stay here again next time. I sincerely recommend it to friends traveling with children and the elderly!

We had such a lovely stay in Datong! The hospitality here truly exceeded our expectations. The host was incredibly friendly, caring, and always ready to help with anything we needed. They even offered to do our laundry while we were out sightseeing, and folded everything neatly after it dried — such thoughtful service. They also helped us order food and gave great recommendations, which made our trip so much easier. The room itself was surprisingly high tech, with a fun sound control system that made the stay even more enjoyable. Although the room is on Level 2 with no lift, the host kindly carried our luggage up during check in and brought it down again when we checked out. Their helpfulness really made a difference. Breakfast was lovely — nutritious, tasty, and just the right kind of start before heading out to explore. Overall, we felt very welcomed and well taken care of. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Datong.

As a solo traveler, I was a little apprehensive before my trip, secretly hoping there wouldn't be any unpleasant surprises, but it turns out I worried too much. This place boasts an excellent location in Wulong Alley, with beautiful surroundings that are safe and comfortable, and fully equipped facilities. Because it's not right next to the busiest snack streets, it's very quiet at night, allowing for a truly restful sleep – huge thumbs up! It's close to the North City Wall and convenient for visiting attractions like Huayan Temple, Daiwangfu, and the Nine Dragon Screen in the ancient city. It was also easy to reach all the eateries on my must-try list, such as Longjuxiang, Zini 369, Heshengcai, and Xijindao Snacks, and I managed to check them all off! I passed by Kuixing Tower and its wishing doll countless times; perhaps it was fate, haha 😄. For those who are too lazy to even walk a kilometer, there are shared bikes available. The owner is incredibly welcoming; they contacted me half a day in advance, added me on WeChat, and waited for me at the entrance. They went over all the important details and even asked about my breakfast preferences for the next day. The breakfast itself was perfectly portioned, exquisite, and nutritious. This place exceeded my expectations, another big thumbs up! Choosing this accommodation has made me even more excited for future solo travels. I hope the owner's business thrives, and I look forward to returning with my child and family sometime in the future for another visit.

After arriving in Datong, we went to Yingxian, and then returned to Datong to continue our trip… We ate at other places because we were exhausted and our luggage was heavy. We thought about contacting the owner to ask if they could pick us up, since it required advance booking. To our surprise, the owner agreed immediately – we were so happy! Facilities: Everything was relatively new, with smart appliances… The pillows were incredibly comfortable; after our previous stay, we slept like a log, it was so comfortable! Cleanliness: Comparable to a five-star hotel! There wasn't a single water stain, and they thoughtfully provided disposable toilet seat covers, which were very practical! Those who know, know. Environment: There was one room of each type, and I liked them all. The standard room had tatami mats and a window sill. The owner upgraded me to a double bed. The floor-to-ceiling window opened onto the balcony, where there were two cute little snowmen. The owner thoughtfully placed some snacks and fruit in the room. As a southerner, I wasn't used to the heating, and it was so hot! Thank goodness for the fruit – so refreshing! In the south, I only dare to eat fruit in air-conditioned rooms 😂 Finally, I asked the owner to help me mail some postcards. I was so envious that the post office here has such a long lunch break! The owner treated us tourists like family and friends. It's truly a joy to have friends coming from afar! Thank you so much! It made my last day in Datong incredibly happy!

This guesthouse boasts a wonderfully elegant ambiance and a truly superb location. Stepping out, you're right on Gulou East Street, perfect for exploring, and Southeast Yi is just a few minutes' walk away. Despite its bustling street location, the guesthouse's courtyard offers surprising tranquility. We slept soundly through the night and woke up naturally, completely undisturbed. The owner and the housekeeper were incredibly thoughtful and attentive. They were always ready to answer any questions, from before our arrival until our departure, and their responses were always very detailed. Every day, the housekeeper would kindly ask us what time we'd like breakfast the next morning, and at the agreed time, she'd even come to our room door to let us know it was ready. I absolutely adored it!!! If I ever visit again, I would definitely choose Yishui Street.

I've been to several provinces and cities, but my trip to Datong, Shanxi this time was truly exceptional. It was during the Dragon Boat Festival, and the hotel gave us a complimentary souvenir. They even offered late-night snacks. The gym, however, was inaccessible even with the room card; I'm not sure what was going on there. The front desk had fruit and candies, and the service was genuinely great. If any friends are coming to Datong, Shanxi, I highly recommend staying at the Ailai Hotel. Even the name is well-chosen – it truly makes you 'love to come' (ài lái)!

This place is really close to attractions like Huayan Temple and Daiwangfu, and all the famous restaurants are just a short walk away. You step out, and you're right at Sipaifang and the Grand Mosque. The owner is super friendly, the underfloor heating in the room kept it toasty warm, and the cleaning lady did an excellent job.

The hotel has very spacious and comfortable rooms. The breakfast is only Chinese, but rich and plentiful. We can't comment on the location because we always took taxis to the attractions around Datong (the wooden pagoda, hanging monasteries, and the Yungang Grottoes), but right next to the hotel are plenty of restaurants and places to grab a quick bite. The staff seemed helpful, but no one spoke English, so we had to use a translation app, which wasn't always accurate, and communication was somewhat hampered.

The location of the hotel is perfect. It is the right place to stay when visiting the Hanging Temple and Jin Temple. The room and bed are large, especially suitable for bringing children. It is no problem for a family of three to stay in a big bed. The bathroom is separated into dry and wet areas. The breakfast is also very good. Overall, it is very cost-effective.
