"The service at this hotel was excellent. Due to an unexpected change in our travel plans, we had to modify our original two-day stay, changing both the dates and duration. The hotel staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly, and kindly waived any change or cancellation fees. For parking, you need to get a discount code from the front desk, which brings the cost down to £17.5. Otherwise, it's £50 for 24 hours. PS: A few days after we checked out, an unpleasant incident happened. We had definitely paid for parking when we left, but a few days later, the hotel emailed us, claiming we hadn't paid and threatening a £35 fine. My advice to anyone renting a car in the UK is to always keep your receipts for parking fees and any other similar expenses."

"This hotel is in an excellent location, right next to the thermal baths, and it is very easy to get around from here. I particularly liked the layout of the building — having a café and bar with drinks and small desserts on the ground floor is extremely convenient and creates a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. The room was very clean. While it is fairly compact, it is well designed and fully equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. It was ideal for travelling alone. I would also like to commend the receptionist who assisted me during my stay. He was clearly enthusiastic about his work, attentive, and considerate, and took genuine care to ensure guests were comfortable. Unfortunately, I did not catch his name, but his professionalism made a very positive impression."

"We booked this hotel last minute and we were delighted by the quality, location and service. The breakfast was cooked to order with high quality ingredients. It was wonderful to stay in such a beautiful Geirgian townhouse so close to the Abbey. We would definitely recommend this hotel."

"The hygiene was acceptable, but the view wasn't great, even though I booked a room with a view. The staff was very good; one even helped me with my luggage to the room because the elevator doesn't go to the third floor, so there's one flight of stairs to climb. We had a bit of a language barrier – I couldn't understand him, and I'm sure he had trouble understanding me. Plus, the fire alarm went off during check-in, which caused a long delay before I could get to my room."

"An absolutely wonderful stay! The hotel is set right by the river and old mill, which makes for stunning views from morning to evening. Waking up to the sound of the flowing water and looking out at the scenery was such a peaceful experience. The service was excellent – staff were attentive, friendly, and went out of their way to make everything comfortable. The combination of beautiful surroundings and warm hospitality made this one of the most memorable stays I’ve had. Highly recommended!"

"Attended on Tuesday 27th Feb. Paid a little extra for room with a bath as like the couple ****** we are, we wanted a bath in Bath. My wife's first time ever visiting here. The hotel is a lovely setting, there is history here and all the staff have been wonderful. Close to the station, literally in front of it, and close to everything. Had the great pleasure of having many encounters with Tim, one of the reception staff and I believe concierges. Super pleasant and always helpful. We had breakfast included and after having that this morning can honestly say it's bang for your buck, with hot food to order including steak and eggs, (best steak my wife has had in the UK), a breakfast grill and a selection of others plus a typical selection of baked goods and fruits. The bar is pleasant and we enjoyed drinks last night before heading up to our room. Strawberry daiquiri we have had many times but the Amaretto sour was an interesting twist with a strong lemon zest. The only downside to the visit would be the bath/shower experience. Lukewarm bath and cold shower when we attempted it last night. This morning we got hot water for a total of ten mins to share before it went cold again. Not the worst thing all in all but a downside considering the extra pricing for a bathtub room. I was however assured that had I brought it to the desks attention I would have been assisted and I had just done the British thing of not wanting to fuss. One last perk that made an impact to me; free luggage storage. We checked out early so we could make the best of our time exploring Bath before we ride home. We were offered free luggage storage for even after we checked out so we could come back in quick before our train at 3pm and grab our bags and go, no extra charge. Fantastically useful as the Abbey tour does not allow luggage inside and we wanted to go. Anyway, thank you to Tim and all the staff at The Royal for making us feel welcomed and our time there special, we will definitely be coming back someday soon and will stay again. - Liam and Jenny Stephenson, Room 109. "Central location helps to overcome the cramped feeling staying in the annexe. The car was parked at the other end of town and drop off was difficult to say the least but it is what it is. I had no reason whatsoever to check out the main building reception, breakfast area perhaps a bar and lounge area too because nothing pointed me there! So generally, it was a room in a loft space built to an ”average” measure. I never like shower cubicles where I tend to bang elbows and worry about breaking something when I drop the soap. Breakfast price was horrendous so no inclination to walk in on the hop to check it out for the 2 nights stayed. I felt detached, cramped and in a bed-sit like accommodation. It is what it is."
