"This is my second stay here, and it speaks for itself! Excellent! 1. The transportation is incredibly convenient. You can take the Toei Asakusa Line directly from Haneda Airport, and it's just a 5-minute walk from the subway exit. The Ginza Line is also at the same station. There's a shopping mall, convenience store, and Ichiran Ramen right outside. 2. It's super close to Senso-ji Temple. Our room didn't have a view of the Skytree, but from the back, you get a fantastic view of Senso-ji. 3. The room isn't large, but it's very comfortable. I really appreciate that the bathroom and toilet are separate. The soundproofing is also good. 4. We booked breakfast for a few days, and the selection was great and very clean! I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit."

"If you’re looking for a reasonably priced hotel in Asakusa, Hotel Tavinos is a solid choice. The rooms are compact but the location makes up for it. Lawson is next door, Don Quijote and ROX Mall are within walking distance, and there are lots of food options nearby. It’s also close to the Asakusa Sumo Club, so it’s convenient if you’re planning to watch a sumo show. You can easily explore Asakusa on foot, while Tokyo Station is about 30 minutes away and Shibuya is around an hour by train. The hotel has a nice lounge on the second floor where many guests hang out in the evenings. Coffee, pastries, and self-serve miso soup are available in the morning. Toiletries are picked up beside the front desk, and there’s a laundry room with a vending machine. Washing costs ¥400 and drying is ¥100 every 15 minutes, so expect to spend around ¥800 if you need a full load. The free luggage storage was also convenient before heading to the airport."

"The renovation year on Trip.com must be incorrect; it definitely doesn't look like it was renovated in 2025. It seems more like 5 years old. The location is excellent, about a 5-minute walk from the subway station, with plenty of restaurants, convenience stores, and even a drugstore nearby. On the night I stayed, the guests next door were talking very loudly in the early morning. I called the front desk, and they immediately came up to handle it. Great service!"

"I had a pleasant stay at HOTEL MYSTAYS Asakusa. The location was convenient for exploring Asakusa and other parts of Tokyo, with public transportation within walking distance. The room was compact, which is quite normal in Tokyo, but it was clean, comfortable, and had the basic amenities I needed. The area around the hotel was relatively quiet, so it was nice to come back and rest after a long day of sightseeing. The staff were polite and helpful, and the overall stay was comfortable and convenient. I also liked being able to explore the Asakusa area easily while still having good access to other places in Tokyo. Overall, it was a good choice for a reasonably priced and practical stay in Tokyo. I would consider staying here again on a future visit."

Discover all that Taito Ward has to offer during your stay at Asakusa Hanabi Mercure 1&2.

"The room is quite spacious. It's very close to Senso-ji Temple, within walking distance. If you're staying in Asakusa, it's also convenient for direct access to Narita Airport, making it a good transit point. The downsides are no refrigerator and no full-length mirror. However, it's incredibly cheap, which makes up for it. There's also a smoking area downstairs. If you want to take photos of Senso-ji Temple in the early morning or evening, you might consider staying here because it's so close. After 9 PM and in the early morning, there aren't many people around, so it's a great time for photos. I'd recommend this place for people who typically go out all day and just need a place to sleep. If you're someone who likes to get ready and put on makeup before heading out, this room might not be suitable as it doesn't have a desk for makeup like other hotels; the only mirror is in the bathroom."

Conveniences include safes and electric kettles, and housekeeping is provided daily.

"I've stayed here many times. The front desk staff are always very friendly, and English communication is no problem. It's also convenient to have a microwave at the front desk. You have to make your own bed, and the duvet cover is just a sheet, not something you can put a duvet inside. I understand this is a very thoughtful and humane approach, as changing duvet covers must be very tiring for the staff. However, I personally find it uncomfortable and I don't like this type of bedding. Also, the room has too many beds and feels very crowded. While the price isn't high, there are many other hostels in Tokyo that are cheaper and more spacious."

"Nice and clean standard sized room for business hotel. Overall is what I expected from standard Japanese hotel with one safety concern of the vending machine/washing machine room. Around 22:00, I found people partying in the room and drinking alcohols sitting on the floor, they are not loud but the room is quite small which make it uncomfortable for those who actually go there to the vending machine or to wash their clothes. I wish hotel staff would regular check the room to prevent the room's misuse and make it comfortable for other guests. Upsides is the hotel is strategic location to reach the Haneda airport as it's only 800m away to Tokyo Monorail station which provides direct train to the airport. Other stations are Tokyo Metro Daimon station and JR Hamamatsuchō station which is 300m and 600m away, respectively."

"It's about a 5 min walk from the Yaesu exit off Tokyo station. I like the location. There are lots of great restaurants around. There's a new coin laundry on the 3rd floor. The service was stellar. The price is great for the location. The room is pretty standard size for Tokyo which is extremely small. I had no space to open my check in luggage fully. But I know I have to pay more to have more room. I'd say set up your expectations. There's 24 hours baggage storage nearby called Big Echo (yes, it's a karaoke place). I used the Bounce app to reserve and drop it off because I couldn't find where the luggage service was inside Tokyo station."

First off, the location is incredibly convenient, with several subway lines within a five-minute walk, offering easy access everywhere. The room was quite small, typical Japanese style. Initially, they gave us a room facing the subway, which was very noisy. After discussing it, they kindly moved us to another side, which was much quieter. The hotel staff were quite friendly and helpful. This hotel is perfect for anime fans and offers good value for money. If you're looking to shop, Shinjuku would be a better choice.

This was my first trip to Japan — I loved the country and its people — but I was disappointed with this hotel and will not return. I hesitated before writing, but decided to share my experience because this property was first on my list and the reception staff’s behavior was very disappointing. I have worked in hospitality and am certain the situation could have been handled promptly and professionally. We traveled together (two colleagues) and stayed in room 611 from June 29 to July 3. The room is indeed small, which we knew in advance: two beds with a narrow passage between them — that’s essentially the whole room. The room had all essentials: clean bedding, good towels, a kettle, an air purifier, etc. My suitcase only fit on the bed; my colleague kept her backpack on the pouf. The hotel’s location is excellent — we reached it from the airport by metro without problems. Ueno Park and the zoo are within easy walking distance. We also really liked the breakfast — friendly staff and tasty food. Unfortunately, on July 2 my colleague discovered that dollars were missing from her backpack. We are certain the money was there on June 30, since she took part of it with her on a walk that day. We thoroughly rechecked the room (I found a surprising amount of dust under the bed, though the room appeared clean overall). My colleague, who speaks excellent English, reported the theft to reception at about 18:00. She was told the hotel has no cameras and that housekeeping had already left. We provided the exact amount missing and our dates of stay. We did not make a scene or demand compensation, but we did expect a professional response: to check who cleaned the room on the relevant dates and to contact the housekeeping team. I ask hotel management to investigate: room 611, housekeeping dates 30.06, 01.07, and 02.07, and the exact amount missing (in US dollars) are all known. Taking these simple steps would help restore the hotel’s reputation and demonstrate true guest care. We stayed in two other hotels during our trip and experienced nothing like this elsewhere. This incident has not changed our positive impression of Japan and its people, but it has changed our view of this particular hotel — we will not return. Advice to future guests: be vigilant with cash and valuables, and be aware that the reception at this hotel may not provide adequate assistance.

Super Hotel Premier Ginza

Though small, this hotel has everything you need. Its Ginza location is incredibly convenient, perfect for shopping or quickly getting to Narita Airport via the expressway. What truly impressed me is how many features are packed into such a compact space. They have a coin-operated laundry and a large public bath. The room, which I'd estimate at about 20 square meters, even managed to fit bunk beds (1.2m/1.5m), making it very family-friendly. A minor point is that since the hotel is directly above the subway, you occasionally feel vibrations as trains pass. This led to a funny moment when an actual earthquake hit at night, and I initially thought it was just another train going by!

• located at the furthest exit from the Ikebukuro train station. have to walk about 10-15 minutes to get to the Yamanote line. the surrounding is also filled with a lot of sus shops, with girls standing around at night holding papers and shouting at men. if you’re a female they won’t bother you but if you’re a guy stay safe.  • at night can hear some shouting from the street as well.  • good; have Refa hair dryer, hair wash etc. there’s also a laundry machine, microwave, etc. which was really nice. • space wise, I think that it is very spacious especially for a solo traveller with only one luggage but if you have two, there might not be enough space for you to open your luggage.

Location is located in Ameyoko market, not far away from Ueno station and Okachimachi station. Public bath is in 12F with open hours 15:00 to 10:00. There is the sauna in Public bath. Hotel offer Ice bar/cream for the guests after bathing in Comic room next to Public bath. Hotel-made ramen is available every night from 21:30 to 23:00, which I did not try because I do not use to take late meal after dinner. Breakfast is great.

This is a reasonably priced hotel in Tokyo where you can enjoy a hot spring bath. It's not simply a 'downgrade' alternative to a Dormy Inn; Super Hotel has its own unique charm. While the rooms aren't large, the space is efficiently utilized. You can slide a large suitcase under the bed, which effectively creates a lot more room. You can also choose your own pillow. The room uses a password entry system, so you don't have to worry about losing your key card. The hot bath was very comfortable too. The surrounding area is full of traditional Japanese charm, which is quite interesting. I even had a heated argument with a few elderly 'rebellious' ladies... Of course, Ikebukuro itself has plenty of places to explore. Tobu Duty-Free offers tax-free shopping without any processing fees, and there's often a long queue, likely for Montbell. Personally, I'd recommend the Montbell in Kagoshima, as they have more discounts. From Ikebukuro, you can use your JR pass to visit Kawagoe and Omiya, which are less crowded than Tokyo and also great for exploring.

Centurion Hotel Ueno was a complete disappointment, falling short of basic hospitality standards. The deception started right at check-in: the room was explicitly advertised and booked as a ”Casual Double Bed,” but what we actually received was a cramped single bed. This blatant misrepresentation immediately compromised the comfort of our stay. The lack of care extended into the bathroom, which was a major letdown. The sink and shower area were marred by very bad, visible marks that made the entire space feel neglected and unhygienic. For a hotel that positions itself in a convenient location like Ueno, the absolute disregard for accurate room descriptions and rigorous housekeeping is unacceptable.

This hotel is super convenient with a great location. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and clean. It's a shame that the front desk staff were unfriendly! That's the most annoying part, especially since it was my first stay and I just wanted to ask a simple question. The two Japanese staff members seemed particularly annoyed and impolite. They even took my suitcase without asking me first.

Very comfortable stay at a modern hostel a short walk from Shibuya Centre. I slept very well - probably because I had the best bunk bed in the dorm - tucked around the corner in front of the window. My dorm mates were mostly quiet and respectful. The toilets and showers just outside in the corridor were very clean as well. Good shower pressure. Very happy with my stay. Would recommend.
