Shinagawa Prince Hotel
8.7 (4,820 reviews)

Shinagawa Prince Hotel ★★★★

📍 4 Chome-10-30 Takanawa, Minato, Tokyo

"The location is fantastic, right outside the west exit of Shinagawa Station, making it incredibly convenient to get anywhere. I stayed on the 27th floor of the main tower, and the view was absolutely amazing, with all the surrounding buildings being quite low. The downside, however, is that the room facilities are very old. I haven't seen an air conditioning controller that ancient in a long time. The pros and cons are very clear, and the value for money is still decent."

Koko Hotel Premier Nihonbashi Hamacho
9.0 (1,166 reviews)

Koko Hotel Premier Nihonbashi Hamacho ★★★★

📍 2 Chome-30-4 Nihonbashihamacho, Chuo, Tokyo

"It's great that there's a convenience store and many dining options nearby. The closest subway station is only 160m away and has an elevator. This place has the most comprehensive range of toiletries and daily necessities I've ever seen. Check-in was simple and communication was smooth. I could even see the tip of the Tokyo Tower from the room's window! However, the 16 sq meter room I booked was still too small; there was only enough space to open one carry-on bag and one 28-inch suitcase, and then it was full. Also, booking early didn't give me any price advantage. A room over 30 sq meters would offer better value for money. And for some reason, the room was very dusty, likely due to the carpet."

Hotel Villa Fontaine Grand Haneda Airport - Directly connected to Haneda Airport Terminal 3
9.3 (7,725 reviews)

Hotel Villa Fontaine Grand Haneda Airport - Directly connected to Haneda Airport Terminal 3 ★★★★

📍 2 Chome-7-1 Hanedakuko, Ota, Tokyo

Connected by a covered walkway to Terminal 3 at Haneda Airport. A 24-hour onsen and spacious rooms make this the perfect choice for transit and early flights.

Imperial Hotel, Tokyo
9.5 (2,438 reviews)

Imperial Hotel, Tokyo ★★★★★

📍 1 Chome-1-1, Chiyoda, Tokyo

"The iconic Imperial Hotel, a landmark in Japan for over 130 years, is also the birthplace of the Japanese buffet, introduced in 1958. Its location is excellent, just a 10-minute walk from Ginza and only 3 kilometers from Tokyo Station, with the Imperial Palace also within walking distance. The breakfast selection is extensive, offering options from the 17th-floor buffet to Japanese breakfast in the basement, French cuisine, and other gourmet choices. The service is truly top-notch. While the hotel shows its age, it is incredibly well-maintained. I revisited for afternoon tea after more than a decade, and it was just as wonderful and unchanged as I remembered."

New Otani Inn Yokohama Premium
9.0 (461 reviews)

New Otani Inn Yokohama Premium ★★★★

📍 Sakuragicho, 1 Chome−1−7 ヒューリック, Naka-ku, Yokohama

"The location is excellent, right above a large shopping mall next to JR Sakuragicho Station. There are direct express passages on both the second and third floors to the mall, and a 7/11 convenience store right by the second-floor exit, which is incredibly convenient. All major landmarks in Yokohama Station and Minatomirai are within walking distance. Inside the mall, there's a Garden House Italian restaurant that's delicious; we had brunch there for two days. Plus, there's a large supermarket on B1, making it easy to stock up on supplies. One end of the cable car station is right next to Sakuragicho Station, so taking the cable car to World Porters, the Ferris wheel, the Red Brick Warehouse, and the Cup Noodles Museum is also a great option. The room itself is spacious for a Japanese hotel, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offering views of Yokohama's nightscape are absolutely stunning. Toiletries can be picked up in the lobby, and the bathroom features large, wall-mounted POLA dispensers, which is a nice touch."

ART HOTEL Nippori Lungwood
9.0 (916 reviews)

ART HOTEL Nippori Lungwood ★★★★

📍 5‑50‑5 Higashi‑Nippori, Arakawa, Tokyo

"Great value for money, the only downside was that one of the beds was directly facing the AC vent, which made my head uncomfortable. However, for this price in Tokyo, it's a very good deal for three people. The room was also very clean."

Koko Hotel Premier Nihonbashi Hamacho ★★★★
"The room size is pretty standard for Japan. The aisle is a bit cramped, but I could still open my 26-inch suitcase. The mattress was very soft, and the duvet was incredibly warm – I think it might have been down? It's a comfort I've never experienced in a hotel before. The bathroom was very spacious, and the bathtub was big enough to lie down in comfortably. There's a Lawson and a 7-Eleven nearby, and it's also very close to the subway station. Unfortunately, there are only three washing machines, so you have to set an alarm to go down and queue for them."

Hotel Musse Ginza Meitetsu ★★★★
"Given its Ginza, Tokyo location, the room size is pretty standard, even if a bit small. The transportation is incredibly convenient; it's right in the Ginza shopping district with multiple subway lines just a few hundred meters' walk away. This makes it super easy to get to major attractions, Tokyo Station, and the airport. The breakfast is quite distinctive, with lots of small dishes that look great for photos. However, after staying for over a week, the menu barely changed – it was pretty much the same every day. While there was a decent variety, it wasn't enough to get completely bored. Plus, there's a convenience store right outside, which is really handy for getting cash and other essentials."

There are a lot of restaurants nearby, though not many are truly exceptional. The room itself is a bit on the smaller side, but overall, it's a good fit for a short stay."
