It is just a short walk from the Skybus airport transfer point and Southern Cross Train Station. "My stay at YEHS Hotel Melbourne was excellent. The location is very convenient, with easy access to public transport, restaurants, shops, and popular attractions. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making it a great place to relax after a day of exploring the city. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help with any questions. Check-in and check-out were smooth and hassle-free. I also appreciated the hotel’s quiet atmosphere and comfortable bed, which made for a good night’s sleep. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at YEHS Hotel Melbourne and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, affordable, and conveniently located place to stay. "Stayed at DoubleTree by Hilton Melbourne – Flinders Street for a short city break. The location is excellent, directly opposite Flinders Street Station and within easy walking distance of Federation Square, the Yarra River, restaurants and Melbourne's laneways. The hotel itself is functional rather than impressive. It appears to be a converted office building, which means the layout is a little different from purpose-built hotels and there are no particularly memorable views despite the prime location. The room was comfortable enough, but the finishes and fixtures lacked the polished feel I've experienced at other DoubleTree properties. Business travellers looking for a more premium or contemporary fit-out may find it falls short of expectations. During our stay there was an issue with our baggage, however the staff handled the situation professionally, resolved the problem and provided complimentary drink vouchers as a goodwill gesture, which was appreciated. One disappointment was that the gym was closed during our stay, as this is a facility I normally like to use when travelling. Overall, the hotel's strongest selling point is its outstanding location. It works well as a tourist base for exploring Melbourne, but business travellers who prioritise hotel facilities, room finishes and a more modern feel may prefer some of the newer hotels in the CBD."

"The first 3 times, everything was great. This time, on my 4th stay, everything had changed. On the first night of check-in, the room wasn't prepared as requested (I asked for 2 beds) and wasn't arranged. I had to sleep and then they arranged the 2 beds the next day. I requested a room on the 8th floor or higher, or the 5th floor, but was given a premium room on the 3rd floor. They informed me that currently, all 2-bed rooms are only available from the 3rd floor downwards (I used to stay in 2-bed rooms on the fourth floor and above). The car horns were very loud. The bathroom fan wasn't working. The room floor wasn't vacuumed. The bedside table, telephone, and lamp were all dusty, even though I had informed them that I am allergic to dust and asked for it to be cleaned before check-in. My throat started itching as soon as I entered. Honestly, if they had cleaned the dust before I checked in as requested, the room would have been fine. Now there's no complimentary water in the room (guests have to buy a hotel bottle and fill it themselves at the water dispenser). There weren't enough towels for two people in the bathroom. I called to request them, and the staff gave me a free water bottle because I refused to buy one. The bottle quality was poor, the water still leaked even with the cap closed, so I couldn't take it with me outside. I checked out on 7/7 and checked in again for 7-15/7 since I had already booked, staying in the same room. I reported the issues, but they were indifferent, so I told the housekeeper myself to vacuum the room, and she did. The good part is: in summary, for a room costing over 4,000 baht a night, guests have to buy a bottle to fill water themselves (other guests, I got a free bottle because I refused to buy. If it was a Starbucks bottle, it might have been interesting). *If the room price is this high, and the premium room is considered the largest, then the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors are noisy and shouldn't be offered. It's a waste of money if you can't get a full night's rest, especially on Friday-Sunday weekends when there are many tourists, car horns, and revving engines are very loud (3-6/7 I slept on and off). *The good parts are: the breakfast the hotel provides is plentiful and constantly refilled, it's close to Paramount, only a 10-minute walk for dinner, and the hotel front isn't crowded, making convenient for pick-up and drop-off. I recommend that guests staying on weekends request high floors."

"The Docklands area is a bit far from the city center. However, being right above the Route 86 tram terminus means you don't have to worry about directions. The room had two queen-sized beds, which is rare to find in Melbourne. The cleanliness wasn't great though, especially the dirty carpet. They don't provide toothbrushes, combs, or slippers, so remember to bring your own. Also, the shower doesn't have a glass door, so you need to be careful when showering. The upside of this area is how quiet it is."

Located at 492 La Trobe Street, Mercure Melbourne La Trobe Street offers a sophisticated urban escape in the heart of the city. Enjoy curated amenities, excellent service, and a food and beverage offering showcasing local ingredients. With Flagstaff Gardens, Queen Victoria Market, Marvel Stadium, and Docklands nearby, it is the perfect base for both business and leisure travellers.

"The hotel is great, and the breakfast is what you'd expect for the price. What's really lovely is that you can see Flagpole Park directly from the restaurant in the morning. The only downside is that the hotel doesn't have its own laundry room; you either have to take your clothes to an external laundromat or pay the hotel for a laundry service. PS: The hotel deposit is a bit high. If you want to get your deposit back quickly, I recommend paying with a foreign bank card like Visa or Mastercard."

This is a very nice resort. The interior is very clean and large. Bed is comfortable and toilet is good with jacuzzi. You will see kangaroos and cockatoos outside the cottage in the morning and evening. My kids enjoy the stay very much. However you need to either cook your own meals or drive out to eat. The drive is about 15 mins.

The Novotel and Holiday Inn share a lobby, and it's less than a 10-minute walk to the terminal. Check-in was quick, and the room was quite spacious, even coming with a coffee machine. For a coffee lover like me, that's a huge plus, especially since many 5-star hotels in China don't offer them in rooms, though I didn't end up using it since breakfast was included. You can even watch planes take off and land from the room. In contrast, the breakfast was pretty standard with limited options. However, for anyone used to a Western-style breakfast of bread, coffee, juice, eggs, and sausage, it's perfectly adequate.

This hotel is located in the landmark Sky One apartment building in Box Hill, offering an excellent location. Downstairs, you'll find the Box Hill shopping center, which is an integrated complex with a supermarket, restaurants, cafes, a train station, and a bus hub – super convenient! The room was spacious, bright, clean, and tidy, with a full set of kitchenware, tableware, a refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and washing machine… absolutely everything you need. The bedding was also very comfortable. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and provided great service.

Need to check in on the 2nd floor. Location: It's on a very narrow street with a small sign, but it's close to Chinatown which is quite convenient. Downstairs, there's a Chinese noodle restaurant that accepts WeChat Pay, and also a cafe. Cleanliness: Overall, it's quite new. There are no toothbrushes or slippers, and the room isn't big, but it's fine for one person. It's cleaned daily. The sink, toilet, and shower are all separate. There's a kettle, but no bottled water; you need to go to the 2nd floor to get water. I stayed on the 24th floor, the elevator is fast, and the night view from the window is nice.

We booked a King Standard hotel for this trip as we have the special rate from Trip.com. Before we arrived we received an email from Trip urging us to write an email to ask for early check in as we also booked an airline ticket thru Trip. When arrived in hotel ard 9.45 am we were offered a room ( with immediate availability ) but with a payment of AUD 50. When I asked for a twin bed room as usually King and Twin Bed will have same rate, but not this hotel. If we were to change the bed style we have to pay AUD 30/night for 5 nights 😅😅another AUD 150. Enough for all the morning communications so we just ignore the bed details and went straight to our room after the payment. On the day we checked out we came to know that the front officer recharged our hotel fee even when Trip.com confirmed that everything was fully paid. What a money maker hotel!! Front officer told us they will refund us the amount though. However the room is small and nice and everything was up to international 4 standard but Crown Casino Tower has a much more beautiful and bigger room. Though both have stunning nice view of the Yarra River as in attached.

It would have been good except for the large western facing windows left without blinds down and an electrical setup that turns the air conditioning off when no one is in the room. So we arrived to stifling heat, and an air conditioner that doesn't really cool the bedrooms, and no fans or windows in the main bedroom. Most other things were good, but having a comfortable room is fundamental and the apartment just isn't set up for that. We enjoyed the location and the pool. We can't really speak to service levels cos we didn't ask for, expect or get any. It was a bit frustrating that the hotel only had a booking for 4 adults when we made a booking for 2A+3C on trip.com but who knows who was responsible for that.

Great base to explore the Melbourne CBD - everything was within walking distance or a few tram stops away. Well connected, especially with Tram number 96 infront of the hotel. Our Studio Deluxe was decent, and included a microwave, dishwasher and kitchenette. Housekeeping made up our room 3 times during our 5 nights stay, which was sufficient for us. The restaurant below also serves great Thai fare with very reasonable pricing. All in all, a value for money accomodation and we had a very comfortable and seamless stay. We would come back again

This was my 9th visit to Naarm in the course of over twenty years. Came from Singapore for a Pierce the Veil gig, tattoos, and to skateboard. I was stoked to see that Lyf is now on Elizabeth St. It’s another great area! So close to Queen Vic too! Having read the other reviews before my stay, I can say those reviews did not do the place justice at all. So here’s my take! - Someone mentioned that the room was small. It is not! I have been to many hotels/hostels abroad and this room was huge for its standard/star rating, and price. The bathroom is fairly big too. Whoever thinks this hotel has small rooms, have got to have their eyes checked. - Another review said rooms were not clean. And that the fridge was dirty. I found it good. Sheets and pillows were clean. Towels and bathroom mat was good too. Carpeting was alright. Bathroom sink, mirror and shower did not have marks, or mold. Glasses was clean. Wardrobe too. Fridge was pretty spotless! Could put my dips, cheeses and olives there. Perhaps my only “complaint” was that the AC unit was a bit dusty. And it took me awhile to figure out how to lower it to 18 degrees. - Someone say that there was not enough space to put toiletries in the bathroom. I am not sure if this person has an entire suitcase of toiletries but that was ample space at the sink, and even more space in the shower. You could line ten face wash in there if you wanted to. In addition, the shampoo, shower gel and conditioner smelled good too. And they provided separate ones instead of a 3-in-1. - Someone mentioned that the hotel did not have a kettle or cups in their rooms. And that water (hot or cold) needed to be collected from Level 1. I came prepared and brought a cup and spoon for my instant soups. It was not inconvenient at all, and the lounge area was nice! - One of the reviews mentioned that there were some flies at the sink area of the lounge. I blame this on lazy guests who expected others to clean up after them. Other than the sink, the lounge area was great with ample cutlery, and homeware provided. Size of the area was pretty decent too! - Security. I absolutely love the security of the hotel, that requires a guest to tap their card, even before they enter the building. They also have a card system that works on an app on your phone. Very cool! - Lyf staff were absolutely lovely! - Someone mentioned that they didn’t like how there was no daily housekeeping. As a guest with minimal litter and requiring minimal to no cleaning, I found this absolutely fine. In fact, I was prepared not to have housekeeping at all; I was fine make my own bed, and empty my own trash, if it got too much. So I was surprised to find that my room had been cleaned on the morning of my 6th night there. They even placed my plushie back nicely on the bed. How lovely! To reciprocate, I left the room almost spotless when I checked out. Even folded the loo roll into a triangle. - A review mentioned that the hotel was noisy and that their room didn’t have a good view, as there was construction going on. Having asked for a quiet room, I received one away from the lift. I heard absolutely no construction work going on at all throughout my 7-night stay. The view of my room overlooked the courtyard of the hotel. It was non-claustrophobic and there was ample sunlight, should you wish to draw the curtains. Windows were high and wide. Clearly not small and dark the way others have described. - A couple of reviews mentioned that the rooms were dark and gloomy. Because of them, I was anticipating a very dimmed and dark room, so was pleasantly surprised to find out that I could see! Conclusion: As someone who used to recce hotels for performing artists as part of tour management/logistics, Lyf at Elizabeth St ticks all the boxes of a great stay – accommodating with good facilities, cleanliness, and fun and happy staff. Was such a great stay and my only regret was not doing a two-week trip this time round. Will definitely be back!

The hotel carpet smells, the building is old and needs a total replacement of carpet. When we entered our room. It smells like bleach everywhere. We have to open the window to make it go away. The room is decent size and the toilet and bath are separated where there are no hand basin to use after using the toilet if someone is using the shower or bath tub. The view from our balcony is magnificent, the Melbourne tall buildings skyline. I also love the location because it is near public transport, free tram and shops, even universities. The kitchen are complete with cooking utensils and pans. They got free coffee, tea and milk. The toiletries were given 1 set of tiny bottles but we are 4 people booked in.

I’ve stayed at numerous at the Punt Hill apartments over the past decade, though it had been a while since I last stayed in one. Our one bedroom apartment was spacious, however the hotel is quite run down now. Walls in the bathroom weren’t very clean, neither were mugs and cutlery (I always make a habit of cleaning things before I use them!). I ended up staying mostly in the hotel as I was sick with the flu so I noticed the wifi was very glitchy and intermittent too so it made streaming shows quite difficult to watch that I ended up just using my phone. The beds were comfortable though! The location is actually fantastic too, right in the heart of China town and easily walkable to places.
