"Stayed here 2 days before my Kobe cruise and it was good enough to rebook for another 3 days after we returned. The hotel is quiet new and located on top of the sannomiya station, giving underground access to most trains and shopping malls nearby. It's basically the center of Kobe.
Exits are 1st floor to the street and 2nd floor to station. Reception is 17th floor. Rooms are slightly bigger than most hotels in Japan. Even number room gives you the larger massage machine but room is smaller than odd numbered rooms. These have a smaller massage chair but bigger space and faces the port terminal if you have a cruise ship waiting.
They provide amenities, coffee and tea at 17th floor.
Did not try the breakfast but there is a convenient store on 2nd floor of the station, near the hotel exit - lots if
sandwiches and snacks here. There're hundreds of restaurants and malls underground and you'll get lost most of the time so look for entrance A1 and A2 to get back.
Airport bus from kansai stops 200m away and bus to the airport departs 100m from the station. Most of the highest rated restaurants are not more than 400m from the hotel.
I'll definitely stay here again."

"This hotel is located halfway between Osaka and Kobe, a spot most guests wouldn't typically choose as it's inconvenient for both cities. It primarily caters to tour groups from Hong Kong and Taiwan, offering bus transfers to and from Osaka, which makes travel easier for them. It's like visiting Shanghai but having your travel agency book your accommodation in Kunshan to save money.
The hotel is conveniently located, just a five-minute walk from both Koshien Stadium and the JR station. Right downstairs, there's a shopping mall with a large Aeon supermarket on B2, which offers tax-free services and dedicated counters for medicine and gifts. It's super convenient for shopping, closing at 10 PM.
On the 7th floor, there are vending machines, a microwave for heating food, and an ice machine.
The lobby restaurant can get quite crowded during breakfast, so I'd recommend going during off-peak hours. It can be quite overwhelming when a large tour group all comes down at once."

"Compared to Kyoto, the Monterey in Kobe offers much better service. Sona is quite small, and lately, there's been too much of a Korean presence there. Although the hotel is a short walk from the station, it's still easy to find. There is indeed a red-light district nearby, making it a bit noisy and messy (though understandable). The room layout is reasonable, the TV supports screen mirroring, and the toiletries are generously provided, with the DHC lotion being particularly good. Don Quijote is just a short walk away, and it's very convenient to get to Sannomiya Station and Kitano Ijinkan (home to the famous 'Life Toast' and the 70-year-old coffee shop), all within walking distance. The breakfast selection is rich and delicious, with the bread being a pleasant surprise.
On a side note, you should definitely avoid the Monterey in Kyoto. Their unfriendliness towards Chinese guests is blatant, especially from the middle-aged Japanese female receptionist! She denied us available rooms unless we insisted and argued on the spot. She also reneged on a promised room type change, even rolling her eyes when a colleague confirmed it with her.🙄"

"I found the rooms surprisingly spacious and comfortable for Japan, easily accommodating my needs with great lighting and bedding. I was impressed by the excellent cleanliness and appreciated the professional, English-speaking staff who helped me with local tips and luggage. "This hotel in Kobe was an excellent choice! The location is fantastic; you can walk to the subway, bus stops, and more. The hotel itself is very clean. We booked a leisure room, and it even had a massage chair, which was incredibly relaxing to come back to every day. There are also plenty of great restaurants around the hotel.
Kobe is truly a wonderful city, definitely worth visiting. From the hotel, we walked to the bus terminal and took a bus to Arima Onsen hot spring village, where we enjoyed a full day of soaking in the springs. We also walked from the hotel to Kitano Ijinkan and indulged in cheesecake and coffee. For our last half-day, we walked to the cable car station for the Nunobiki Herb Gardens."

"This hotel is quite good. Its prime location in the Arima Onsen resort area is a major draw. A significant highlight is the hotel's own onsen, featuring the unique 'Kinsen' (Gold Spring) and 'Ginsen' (Silver Spring) waters, which are a rare find elsewhere. Additionally, the hotel has a swimming pool, with free access for children, adding to its overall value. Perched on a hilltop, it offers fantastic panoramic views. While some facilities might be a bit dated, the overall experience was very pleasant, and it offers excellent value for money. I would happily return to this hotel given the chance. The buffet breakfast was satisfactory. A thoughtful touch is their arranged shuttle service for guests departing at 7 PM. Finally, the Japanese staff at the front desk were incredibly friendly and enthusiastic, which is definitely worth commending."

"This is my second time staying at this hotel, and I truly feel its location is incredibly convenient. There are Family Mart, 7-Eleven, and Lawson stores all along the street, so you can pop down anytime to grab supplies. Directly opposite is a 24-hour Don Quijote, which is great for buying things and bringing them back easily. It's also a short walk to Sannomiya subway station and the Sannomiya shopping street. This time, I even discovered that you can reach the shopping street in just a few minutes by taking the small road to the right of the hotel. There are various restaurants right on the street in front of the hotel, and the famous Kobe beef restaurants are just at a nearby intersection. The hotel rooms are a decent size, meeting the basic needs of a tourist. I'll probably stay here again next time.
The complimentary coffee and tea after 6 PM, and ice cream before 8 PM, provide a nice relaxed space for guests to chat, which is a very thoughtful arrangement.
On a later day, I had an early morning flight, so I needed to switch to a hotel near Kansai Airport. I checked out around 10 AM and left my luggage at the hotel. The hotel staff were very accommodating; I went out to do some last-minute shopping and had lunch, then came back to collect my luggage, which didn't disrupt my plans at all."

"I like this hotel very much. Although it is a bit far from Mita Station and Shin-Mita, there are trams and buses from both stations to the hotel. It is a 3-kilometer walk to Shin-Mita Station. There are large shopping malls around. The hotel provides a wide variety of bath and toiletries, including lotions and styling creams. The room is a beautiful lake view room with good lighting and log style. Basically, there are ice machines on every floor, which is convenient for guests who like cold drinks. It is suitable for vacation and I will come again next time."

"Good location but poor amenities and services, no water was provided in my room and there wasn't coffee available in the morning too, the bedsheets were dirty! What's the point of paying for 4star hotel when I have to do everything myself? Coffee Machine in the lounge was also off n there was no hot water at the lounge too! After check out apart from luggage deposit there is no customer service afterwards they said no when I asked for hot water, in the middle of a snowing day!"

"I've stayed at Candeo Hotels several times across Japan before.
Candeo Hotels always have excellent locations.
The Candeo Kobe this time was also in a great spot, making it convenient to get anywhere in Kobe.
What I love most about Candeo Hotels is that they all have rooftop onsens for bathing.
Basically, you can do all your showering and bathing upstairs, so the bathroom in the room is largely unnecessary.
The room wasn't huge, but it was already above the average size for Japan.
I highly recommend this one in Kobe."

GGuest UserThis was our first stay, and we were greeted immediately upon arrival and received kind support throughout our stay, making us feel at ease. We enjoyed making marshmallow sandwiches over a campfire, riding on the swings, and watching the adorable sheep roaming freely on the grounds. Just outside the front door, we could see the sheep, and the children enjoyed feeding and petting them, giving them experiences they wouldn't normally have. The air conditioning in the guest rooms was comfortable, allowing us to relax in a warm space, enjoy the view outside, and sip wine. We would definitely like to stay again. Next time, I'd like to try the hot tub.

This hotel stay completely exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I felt a deep sense of genuine hospitality – there was a dedicated shuttle service directly from the station to the hotel, saving me the hassle of dragging my luggage around.
The next day, I planned to explore the hot spring town at the foot of the mountain. The hotel proactively offered to store my luggage and deliver it to the station at the bottom of the mountain at the agreed time, completely freeing up my hands. The food was surprisingly delicious, with fresh ingredients and thoughtful pairings. The room was clean and comfortable, meticulously cleaned daily, and the common areas were also spotless.
The service throughout was attentive yet unobtrusive. From the shuttle arrangements to the luggage storage, everything was efficient and heartwarming. It's truly perfect for travelers planning a hot spring trip. I'll definitely choose this place again on my next visit.

GGuest UserLike the quaint yet very elaborate ryokan style of living. The onsen may not be as big and fancy as in noboribetsu but it is still comfortable. I subscribed to their dinner and breakfast which was pretty good. I definitely live the wooden bathtub in my room. They have shuttle services to and from Arima Onsen region. The only complain I have is the weak wifi.

The view of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge right in front of us was spectacular! We spent a relaxing time watching the ever-changing scenery.

DdcmcszAbout 15 mins’ walk from Shin Kobe JR. 10 mins’ walk to Sanomiya. Location was ok. The room was not too small. Clean environment, coffee machine and amenities available at lobby.
Had problems with room WiFi the first night. Front desk didn’t have solution upon my phone inquiry. After reporting to CTrip, hours later, a Chinese speaking staff came to my door to help me. And problem solved. The next day, hotel sent a note asking for my feedback on the issue. Which was a professional and nice gesture.
Breakfast was a chain fast food connected to the lobby. Front desk staff can communicate in English. Overall, good experience with this price.

首晚，下午发现房间Wi-Fi用不了；电话前台只会Sorry；跟携程说了后，晚上有中国员工上门，解决了问题；第二天，酒店还询问反馈；这点还是服务不错，毕竟是喜来登旗下，还是更专业；不像京都的Tokyu Stay Sanjo Karasuma三条乌丸，酒店设施有问题，装没事的。
设施一般，该有的都有；一楼有洗浴用品，调味包大小的一次性牙膏很方便；早晨就是大堂旁边的松屋，要另外买；
前台员工英语可以交流；第一天接待我的眼镜大叔，动作有一点慢，慢慢跟他说还是可以的。整体体验还不错，毕竟价格不贵。

GGuest UserHotel service was good. Dinner and breakfast was provided as part of the stay. Food was good for the stay since there are not much options for food at Arima. Most shops are closed by afternoon. Though the hotel is old but it’s renovated (except for the old wooden cupboard) which made the stay more pleasant. Onsen is indoor and small so will need to go at hours with lesser people.

AAnonymous UserFrom Osaka Uehommachi, go directly to Uozaki (Google Maps says ”no transfer” means you get off and change to the next bus at the same platform), then transfer to the Rokko Express (which offers a wonderful view and a unique experience). Get off at Island Center Station three stops later, and the hotel is right at the East Exit of the overpass. Bus No. 23 is located on the first floor of the hotel, reaching Kobe Mita in the city center in about 20 minutes. The stop is right in front of the Hankyu Department Store. There are also buses to Shin-Kobe, but they run less frequently. The bus to Kobe Airport is also on the first floor. Reservations can be made at the front desk, and there's a self-service ticket machine at the entrance. The earliest bus leaves at 6:23 AM, and the trip takes just over an hour.
There's a FamilyMart convenience store next to the hotel. We booked a terrace room, which had a large outdoor terrace. The hotel's Hama Onsen is open until midnight and features several large and small pools, including an outdoor area. It's a great place to soak after strolling through the streets.

GGuest UserFirst off, this location is a bit out of the way, if you intend to stay close to the downtown...you have to take the ”Portliner” a few stops.
No issue for me, but did not realize this when I booked.
I chose it because of the onsen / sauna, and I was very satisfied: this was the best sauna / cold tub I had in Japan (so far).
Was hotter (and colder) than anything else. The actual hot-tub was good too, but I focus on sauna ＞ cold tub cycles more than anything.
Rooms are new and look good, if not a bit small. As expected.
Stay for a night if you are on the fence...use the onsen...have a coffee-milk afterwards. You'll feel great.
Rooftoop bar / restaurant was nice as well and very friendly staff!

GGuest UserThe hotel is fine, it just feels old. It was built in the late 80s and from the look of my room it hasn't been refurbished since. Some of the patches on the wallpaper had patches of their own. It smelt old too. On the plus side, the room was spacious, perfectly comfortable, and dark and quiet when I wanted to sleep. Wifi was slow enough to be effectively useless.
The breakfast was excellent with a varied selection, but neither of the restaurants was open while I was there so I had to fend for myself. The front desk was friendly, quick and attentive.
The hotel shares the main entrance with the Chamber of Commerce, which makes for an rather unique first impression of going into an office building.
