"Stayed here 2 days before my Kobe cruise and it was good enough to rebook for another 3 days after we returned. The hotel is quiet new and located on top of the sannomiya station, giving underground access to most trains and shopping malls nearby. It's basically the center of Kobe.
Exits are 1st floor to the street and 2nd floor to station. Reception is 17th floor. Rooms are slightly bigger than most hotels in Japan. Even number room gives you the larger massage machine but room is smaller than odd numbered rooms. These have a smaller massage chair but bigger space and faces the port terminal if you have a cruise ship waiting.
They provide amenities, coffee and tea at 17th floor.
Did not try the breakfast but there is a convenient store on 2nd floor of the station, near the hotel exit - lots if
sandwiches and snacks here. There're hundreds of restaurants and malls underground and you'll get lost most of the time so look for entrance A1 and A2 to get back.
Airport bus from kansai stops 200m away and bus to the airport departs 100m from the station. Most of the highest rated restaurants are not more than 400m from the hotel.

"Compared to Kyoto, the Monterey in Kobe offers much better service. Sona is quite small, and lately, there's been too much of a Korean presence there. Although the hotel is a short walk from the station, it's still easy to find. There is indeed a red-light district nearby, making it a bit noisy and messy (though understandable). The room layout is reasonable, the TV supports screen mirroring, and the toiletries are generously provided, with the DHC lotion being particularly good. Don Quijote is just a short walk away, and it's very convenient to get to Sannomiya Station and Kitano Ijinkan (home to the famous 'Life Toast' and the 70-year-old coffee shop), all within walking distance. The breakfast selection is rich and delicious, with the bread being a pleasant surprise.
On a side note, you should definitely avoid the Monterey in Kyoto. Their unfriendliness towards Chinese guests is blatant, especially from the middle-aged Japanese female receptionist! She denied us available rooms unless we insisted and argued on the spot. She also reneged on a promised room type change, even rolling her eyes when a colleague confirmed it with her.đ"

"This hotel in Kobe was an excellent choice! The location is fantastic; you can walk to the subway, bus stops, and more. The hotel itself is very clean. We booked a leisure room, and it even had a massage chair, which was incredibly relaxing to come back to every day. There are also plenty of great restaurants around the hotel.
Kobe is truly a wonderful city, definitely worth visiting. From the hotel, we walked to the bus terminal and took a bus to Arima Onsen hot spring village, where we enjoyed a full day of soaking in the springs. We also walked from the hotel to Kitano Ijinkan and indulged in cheesecake and coffee. For our last half-day, we walked to the cable car station for the Nunobiki Herb Gardens."

"This hotel is quite good. Its prime location in the Arima Onsen resort area is a major draw. A significant highlight is the hotel's own onsen, featuring the unique 'Kinsen' (Gold Spring) and 'Ginsen' (Silver Spring) waters, which are a rare find elsewhere. Additionally, the hotel has a swimming pool, with free access for children, adding to its overall value. Perched on a hilltop, it offers fantastic panoramic views. While some facilities might be a bit dated, the overall experience was very pleasant, and it offers excellent value for money. I would happily return to this hotel given the chance. The buffet breakfast was satisfactory. A thoughtful touch is their arranged shuttle service for guests departing at 7 PM. "The hotel's location is excellent, making it super convenient to get anywhere, and there are plenty of food options nearby. Right across the street from the hotel is a Don Quijote. The hotel itself offers free tea and coffee during the day, and even ice cream in the evening. "The staff were very friendly, the room was clean, and the view was great, so I felt like I was staying at a top-class hotel.
The bath was also large, so I was able to relax and unwind.
Breakfast was also delicious. Perhaps because it was a Saturday, it wasn't very crowded, so I enjoyed my meal at my own pace while admiring the beautiful mountain view from the second floor.
The ice cream, rare cheesecake, and chocolate petit cakes were excellent, as was the dessert of yogurt, mango, strawberry, and chocolate jelly? sauce.
Next time, I'd like to try the pastry chef's sweets for lunch.
My only disappointment was that, while many hotels these days offer free coffee as a welcome drink, coffee was charged for and not available in the room."

"Good location but poor amenities and services, no water was provided in my room and there wasn't coffee available in the morning too, the bedsheets were dirty! What's the point of paying for 4star hotel when I have to do everything myself? Coffee Machine in the lounge was also off n there was no hot water at the lounge too! After check out apart from luggage deposit there is no customer service afterwards they said no when I asked for hot water, in the middle of a snowing day!"

"The room was excellent. It's rare to find hotels with sofas in Japan, and the breakfast was superb. You can even choose your own breakfast time. It's only 230 meters to the station, and there's a shopping street right outside the door. Plus, it's a pleasant 20-minute walk to the beach in the evening."

GGuest UserThis was our first stay, and we were greeted immediately upon arrival and received kind support throughout our stay, making us feel at ease. We enjoyed making marshmallow sandwiches over a campfire, riding on the swings, and watching the adorable sheep roaming freely on the grounds. Just outside the front door, we could see the sheep, and the children enjoyed feeding and petting them, giving them experiences they wouldn't normally have. The air conditioning in the guest rooms was comfortable, allowing us to relax in a warm space, enjoy the view outside, and sip wine. We would definitely like to stay again. Next time, I'd like to try the hot tub.

The room is very good, the floor-to-ceiling corner window has a beautiful view outside the window, the room facilities are very new, the room facilities are very complete, the room coffee and the refrigerator are very rich, the drinks are full, very considerate. The shampoo, conditioner and body lotion are all Bulgari, the experience is very good. They also thoughtfully prepared men's and women's skin care travel packs, which is very attentive. I would like to especially praise the staff of Hiroko-san who has been serving us since we received them during our stay. They are very enthusiastic, very attentive and very nice. The experience brought to us during our stay was very comfortable and very good. I look forward to meeting Hiroko-san again next time I stay.

GGuest UserLike the quaint yet very elaborate ryokan style of living. The onsen may not be as big and fancy as in noboribetsu but it is still comfortable. I subscribed to their dinner and breakfast which was pretty good. I definitely live the wooden bathtub in my room. They have shuttle services to and from Arima Onsen region. The only complain I have is the weak wifi.

This hotel stay completely exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I felt a deep sense of genuine hospitality â there was a dedicated shuttle service directly from the station to the hotel, saving me the hassle of dragging my luggage around.
The next day, I planned to explore the hot spring town at the foot of the mountain. The hotel proactively offered to store my luggage and deliver it to the station at the bottom of the mountain at the agreed time, completely freeing up my hands. The food was surprisingly delicious, with fresh ingredients and thoughtful pairings. The room was clean and comfortable, meticulously cleaned daily, and the common areas were also spotless.
The service throughout was attentive yet unobtrusive. From the shuttle arrangements to the luggage storage, everything was efficient and heartwarming. It's truly perfect for travelers planning a hot spring trip. I'll definitely choose this place again on my next visit.

MMM0112The view of the hotel is very beautiful and the room is large and comfortable. The decoration in the room is very design, and the electrical appliances are all up-to-date. The service was very good and the rest was very good. We chose breakfast in the room and enjoyed the sunrise and sunset here. We were very happy. There are also buffet snack bars on the 3rd floor. Don't miss ïœ If the weather is good, you must spread it around the hotel or ride a bicycle. It's too comfortable. đ I have lived in several hotels nearby. This is definitely the most cost-effective + comfortable!

They have laundry machines, a microwave, and a vending machine on the first floor, along with water dispensers on every floor. On the first floor, you can also find coffee, tea bags, toiletries, and bathrobes. This is my go-to place whenever I visit Kobe; it offers excellent value for money.

GGuest UserHotel service was good. Dinner and breakfast was provided as part of the stay. Food was good for the stay since there are not much options for food at Arima. Most shops are closed by afternoon. Though the hotel is old but itâs renovated (except for the old wooden cupboard) which made the stay more pleasant. Onsen is indoor and small so will need to go at hours with lesser people.

AAnonymous UserFrom Osaka Uehommachi, go directly to Uozaki (Google Maps says âno transferâ means you get off and change to the next bus at the same platform), then transfer to the Rokko Express (which offers a wonderful view and a unique experience). Get off at Island Center Station three stops later, and the hotel is right at the East Exit of the overpass. Bus No. 23 is located on the first floor of the hotel, reaching Kobe Mita in the city center in about 20 minutes. The stop is right in front of the Hankyu Department Store. There are also buses to Shin-Kobe, but they run less frequently. The bus to Kobe Airport is also on the first floor. Reservations can be made at the front desk, and there's a self-service ticket machine at the entrance. The earliest bus leaves at 6:23 AM, and the trip takes just over an hour.
There's a FamilyMart convenience store next to the hotel. We booked a terrace room, which had a large outdoor terrace. The hotel's Hama Onsen is open until midnight and features several large and small pools, including an outdoor area. It's a great place to soak after strolling through the streets.

GGuest UserThe hotel is fine, it just feels old. It was built in the late 80s and from the look of my room it hasn't been refurbished since. Some of the patches on the wallpaper had patches of their own. It smelt old too. On the plus side, the room was spacious, perfectly comfortable, and dark and quiet when I wanted to sleep. Wifi was slow enough to be effectively useless.
The breakfast was excellent with a varied selection, but neither of the restaurants was open while I was there so I had to fend for myself. The front desk was friendly, quick and attentive.
The hotel shares the main entrance with the Chamber of Commerce, which makes for an rather unique first impression of going into an office building.
