"Overall was good. I just experienced dirty toilet sponge. After my Mongolian friend called reception and requested to replace with a brand new sponge it wasn’t done. So I just bought a bleach in Emart store. All good after using a bleach.👍"

"The hotel facilities are very dated. The toilet in our room was leaking. The issue couldn't be fixed and they issued us another room. Sound on the TV was not working in both the rooms. We frequently called reception for these issues. The toilets are also dated with bathtub and shower curtain. There were some stains and wear and tear. The hey days of this hotel are about 15 years past. Sockets are also the 2 pin instead the the newer multi-plug sockets. On a good note, the beds were comfortable, towels clean and the room spacious enough. The hotel is also next to a huge e-mart to buy groceries and food."

"I had a pleasant stay at the Ramada Hotel overall. The service was excellent—staff were friendly, helpful, and made the experience smooth from check-in to check-out. The location is a major highlight for me, as it’s very convenient. I had to pick up my husband early in the morning from the airport, and it only took about 45 minutes, which worked out perfectly. There is also a lounge on the top floor, which is a nice feature, although it felt a bit old-fashioned. In fact, the hotel overall has an older style and could benefit from some modernization. The room itself was on the smaller side but still comfortable enough for a short stay. One issue I noticed was with the bathroom ventilation. Even though I was on a non-smoking floor, when I turned on the ventilator, cigarette smoke seemed to come through. Once I turned it off, the smell disappeared. Additionally, we stayed two nights, and housekeeping did not come to make up the room, which was a bit disappointing. This is an area the hotel could improve. Overall, despite a few inconveniences, I would still recommend this hotel for its great service and excellent location."

"I loved this hotel because the staff were so universally friendly and helpful, and the restaurant was just lovely. I had two great meals there. Good value for money too. My one big complaint is the room was way too hot. It was 33°C. The air conditioning didn't work. The only advice I could be given was open the window. The 3 inches it opened. Nothing worked and it did make sleep difficult. Such a shame as it puts me off rebooking for October when I go again. There is an excellent ”Walking Street” opposite the hotel with restaurants and bars, so I'll be sad to change to a different hotel. Fix the room temperature, please!"

"I usually hold off before posting these things but I'm hot and irritable so here it is and you can sort through it if you want to know details. The air conditioner was broken in my room and he seemed to be saying that in all the rooms they were broken in some way. Either blowing air but it wasn't cold or cold but hardly blowing and besides he couldn't change my room. So while I'm doing the review, you can't get hot water in the shower. It gets briefly almost there and then cools. So no way to take a long shower or a hot bath. There is a lamp but it's unplugged. Because there is only two outlets next to each other in one place. When I unplugged The TV etc and plugged in the cute lamp it turned out the lamp flashes briefly and then doesn't work. The bulb? Oh, and then Wi-Fi stopped working and said it was start again when network quality improved. And someone had made noodles in the hot pot and it was partially scrubbed but not completely so my tea (not provided) tasted faintly of chicken soup. Other than Wi-Fi, hot water (drinking and bath) and air conditioning it was quaint and nice. Bathrobes and monogram towels. A down duvet in down pillows. In the mattress you can kind of feel the springs but they seem to have the same mattress everywhere from the hotels down to hostels so I don't know that good ones are available. And everything was clean including the carpet but did smell a little of smoke. So it's kind of like a four-star hotel and in some ways the same as a cheap guest house. And inexpensive by American standards. So even though it costs double or more then the guest houses it still cost less than a Motel 6. The best thing is you can walk to the Palace of the Dohg Khan, restaurants, grocery stores, etc and it is a place where, as my cab driver ”people in Ulaabatar live, not a tourist place”. And easy to get to because you don't have to fully enter city traffic. And I had a lively view of the real life going on from my seventh story window."

"The hotel's location is super central, right next to Genghis Khan Square and very close to the airport shuttle stop. While the rooms aren't luxurious, they're practical, and the bed is large and comfortable. The breakfast quality is also good."

"I would highly recommend this hotel, it is well located near the city centre and its staff are very friendly and helpful. They arranged a car to pick us up from the airport when we arrived and helped us check the time and location of the show we wanted to see. When we arrived they upgraded our room, which was beautiful, spacious and very clean."

"Before coming here, I was a little nervous after reading the reviews, worried that there would be various problems, but now I can say with confidence that this is a hotel that you can stay in with confidence. The price is not high in Ulaanbaatar, and the location is relatively superior. There is a shopping mall under construction across the street, and it is a 20-minute walk from the central city. The hotel also has its own cafe on the first floor, where you can rest for a while. It is more conspicuous from a distance, but it is a bit winding when walking, and it is not so easy to find. There is a sign of a Korean restaurant on the first floor, which is confusing. There are other high-rise buildings near the hotel, but they do not block the view seriously. It is 4km away from the train station, about 40 minutes walk. When we arrived at around 10:30, the hotel was very considerate and checked in in advance. The room is large and refreshing, the bed is soft, there is 24h hot water (not necessarily available in Mongolian hotels), a large bathtub, comfortable towels, and the quality of the shower gel provided is also good. The problem is that there are too few sockets. There are two in the whole room, and one is in the bathroom...not very convenient. One is that there is no room service. Because I only stayed for two nights and communication was inconvenient, I did not ask for cleaning. But overall, it is a good choice for staying in Ulaanbaatar."

"Aurora Hotel is a relatively new hotel in Ulaanbaatar, located along Peace Avenue in the western part of UB City. It is about 15mins walk to an Emart and it is also pretty easy to book a taxi/cab using UBcab mobile app to get around as visitors. I highly recommend Aurora Hotel for short visits to Ulaanbaatar, despite it's non-central location. The rooms are large, comfortable and clean. Breakfast had a decent variety and quality. Khulan Restaurant on the 2nd floor also serves good Mongolian cuisine. The front desk and restaurant staff were very friendly and welcoming. We were served breakfast in our room during the Tsagaan Sar festival and it was a generous portion. Unfortunately during our visit, the gym and sauna were closed and we weren't able to use them."
