"The hotel's location is great, within walking distance of Malacca's old town. When I checked in, the Malaysian lady at the front desk collected a 50 RM cash deposit from me (which another front desk staff member refunded when I checked out the next day). Additionally, she charged an extra 28 RM for some unknown fee (Ctrip showed an 8 RM world heritage fee was due). I stayed for two nights, and Ctrip deducted 475.47 RMB upon checkout.
Room 512 faces west, offering an open view of St. Paul's Hill. The room didn't have a safe or slippers, but it did have a refrigerator, toothbrush, hairdryer, wardrobe, and hangers. The air conditioning was central and could be set to a very low temperature.
Upon entering, I accidentally pressed the 'make up room' button next to the door. Later, after I had gone to bed, a staff member rang the doorbell to clean. They were very responsible; I had to get dressed and explain in person that I didn't need the service before they left."

"We just returned from a night stay at Rosa. The location although is not too perfect for a family with toddler, it is only a 10 to 15-minute walk from Jonker Night Market and river cruise. We ordered e-hailing but the road where this hotel is located is very busy especially during public holiday thus we have to wait for 20-30 minutes to get our 6 seater ride. The staff, especially the doorman and guys at the front desk, were incredibly welcoming. Our room was immaculate and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was delicious with many local options. However, the egg station was busy this time around with the trainee cook not sure how to use the stove and a group of over-friendly makciks and tauke-soh keep commenting and asking the trainee about their order. All in all, our stay is ok. However, we will definitely be back prepared!”"

"Another unpleasant experience during recent stay. Kinda upset that the hotel didn’t even bother to read my special request that I have indicated in my booking a week before the check in. Regularly staying here for my business trip, and this is not the first time they disappointed me.
Reached hotel at 5pm after long business meeting, and been told my room is facing the pool side and at lower floor. I have clearly indicated higher floor and river view which I have been staying in the same floor / same room during each of my stay. But they’re totally not aware I have indicated such request for my booking and ended up I waited for almost 40min++ for them to get another river view room ready for me. Before they do so, they actually asked me to wait until 8pm if I want a river view room which I’m totally speechless. I’ve booked for premier room not standard room, and kinda shocked when I heard that remarks from the receptionist
Location is definitely very strategic.
I hope the next trip I won’t get disappointed again."

"Great service and comfortable rooms, but with a few hiccups. The staff at reception were lovely. However, staying on the 32nd floor meant long waits for the lift during busy times. Also, the bathroom glass is quite see-through—not ideal if you're sharing the room with a friend. Overall, it was a good experience, but keep these points in mind."

"The room was a bit old-fashioned. The window was small and the bathroom sink was tiny, though the shower was decent. Breakfast was just okay and required walking to a separate building. It was also very crowded, with many tour groups. There's no sidewalk directly outside the hotel, so you need to be careful when walking out. It's not close to the main attractions, so if you're not big on walking, you might want to think twice before booking."

"1st day check-in experience:-
Very bad.
The check-in was smooth.
Once we step out of the lift on 22nd level. The whole corridor is humid and stuffy. No aircon at all.
After that, we tap in to our room. The whole room was humid and stuffy. Need to use those remote control to turn on the aircon (their aircon is those small ones installed for home type - one for e living area and one for the bedroom). After 20-30 mins, thought the room will slowly cool down.... no...
We all started to sweat in the room as the aircon is unable to cool the entire room at all.
There were 2 single beds in e living area and a queen size bed in the bedroom (Website states King size and 2 single beds).
We went to the reception to complain. Cos the small aircon is too weak for the big area. Even the small room can't cool down. Ask to change to a connecting room. They offered to change to a
deluxe room (2 super single) + Suite (1 king size + living area). That is the only option. We accepted and top up RM700. Reception claim they will ask the technician to check on the aircon at the corridor...
End up no actions done again....
We realized when the lift door opens on certain floors when guests comes in, the corridors are all humid and stuffy!
We were given the rooms on level 15, yap.... all corridors are stuffy without aircon. Even the reception area is cooler.
The only plus point is e attitude of the staff here.
The connecting room was way better with stronger aircon. Had a good rest for e 2 nights.
Very mixed feeling for this hotel as the location is good with eateries and massage places around. Pool looks good.
Very dated looking hotel with basic amenities. Slow response from housekeeping was slow, we requested for an additional pillow that never comes.
Will not be going back again."

"Stayed here with my wife for 2 nights—overall a comfortable and value-for-money stay.
Spacious, modern room with a nice semi-partition layout that gives a studio feel. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Basic amenities were neatly packed, and the kitchenette is a useful addition.
Location is slightly away from Jonker Street but still just a short drive, which helps avoid the crowd. Service was smooth and efficient throughout.
Good balance of space, comfort, and affordability. Solid choice for a short getaway.

"It’s a spontaneous trip that we booked the room before we check google reviews. Yet we are aware of the different way of check in.
Apparently it’s under awanjiwa management of the *air-bnb* style of room which is the same hotel as The pines.
First,
If there is choice i may direct book frm the pines , we tried once under the shore & the swiss garden same thing yet also unforgettable trip 😅
I would say hotel charge the prices will assure give the best services maybe .
We consider lucky that awanjiwa person in charge is nice and responsible. We got some hicups on the check in and got settle to change another room as u can see frm photos the disaster of the first room we got i told the PIC only the bed and the sink is clean others is all dusty 😵💫
We got changed to another better condition rooms also with some stain on the table n cupboard so i had to clean myself before place anything in.
Its not that bad tho, but i would say im not an airbnb guest . 😅 and its feel really weird when u stay in hotel but its like so weird u cant park in the same unit and u just dont feel u are away for a trip as the place u check in like ur neighbor home kind of feel ."

Great
GGuest UserI was a bit worried after reading some reviews, but after checking in, I found the location to be absolutely fantastic. We could walk to all the major attractions, and popular restaurants were also nearby. Getting to the central station only took about 20 minutes by car. Our room's balcony was in the middle of the building, more like a drying area, but it met our need for quiet. The staff were all very enthusiastic, and the manager could speak Chinese. The shower had great water pressure and was very comfortable. When taking a Grab, we could be dropped off at the main entrance, but for pickups, we had to set the location to the back entrance and walk through the restaurant.
What I wasn't happy about was that the towels were a bit discolored, as mentioned in other reviews, and the room only provided reusable plastic slippers. It would be great if these could be improved.
Ttheresa125I recently stayed at Viento Malacca and had a pleasant experience overall. The hotel ambience was cozy, relaxing, and beautifully designed, making it a comfortable place for a short getaway. The room was clean, spacious, and well-maintained, while the staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay.
The location is also very convenient, with easy access to Jonker Street, Stadthuys, and St. Francis Xavier Church in Malacca. I especially enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and comfortable bedding, which made the stay even more enjoyable.
There are still a few areas that could be improved, particularly the in-room lighting system. When switching off the wardrobe light button, the entire room lighting turns off as well, which was not very user-friendly. In addition, the spotlight above the wash basin was slightly too bright.
Overall, it was still a satisfying experience and worth considering for anyone visiting Malacca. I would definitely consider staying here again in the future.
SSYUKRI MORTAZAA very meaningful experience for us and the kids. The children were very satisfied. The air conditioning was cold, and the shower in the bathroom had multiple functions. The swimming pool was spacious and not too deep. The kids' pool was very comfortable.

GGuest UserThis hotel is located right in Malacca's Old Town, making it easy to walk to all the attractions. The parking lot is very spacious, which is great for those traveling by car. While the hotel's exterior and lobby are beautiful, the room itself was quite ordinary. The air conditioning was noisy, and the dim lighting made the room feel rather oppressive. The shower pressure was also very low. Throughout our entire trip, the hotel service in Malaysia was consistently indifferent, a stark contrast to the excellent service we experienced in Thailand.

AAnonymous UserThere is a coach station at this hotel, convenient for travellers. Our room was available for early check-in at 12pm, allowed us to drop-off our bags and start exploring Malacca. The room size is decent for 2, relatively clean, the bed is comfortable. Some areas with minor torn wall paper, some stains on the edges of tiles in the bath room but not too much a concern considering the room rates compared to newer hotels.
Lleo790707This hotel is perfect for tourists visiting Malacca, just a five-minute walk from Jonker Street and the Christ Church. Malacca's old town isn't very big, so you can easily walk to all the attractions from here. Even though it's located in Little India, it feels very quiet and peaceful. The locals are also very friendly.

CCaren 鎂晴Overall, my stay was quite disappointing due to multiple issues with the facilities and management, although there are a few positive aspects worth mentioning.
1. The toilet flushing system is very weak and unable to properly flush waste. There is also no exhaust fan, causing unpleasant odors to linger after use.
2. The shower area lacks proper shelving for toiletries, which is inconvenient, especially for female guests. Although the space is not small, the towel rack is installed above the toilet, which is both unhygienic and impractical.
3. The unit is advertised as a two-bedroom space that can accommodate up to five people, which reasonably creates the expectation of having two bathrooms. However, the upstairs bathroom is locked and used as a storage room. This becomes highly inconvenient, as guests have to wait excessively long to use a single bathroom.
4. The doorbell issue that was reported earlier was never resolved.
5. The air conditioner remote control was initially not working, but a replacement was only provided later at night.
6. Only two out of four elevators were functioning. During checkout time, it became extremely difficult to get an elevator. Once inside, it stopped at almost every floor due to high demand. It took my family and me nearly an hour just to get from the 22nd floor to the car park. There was also no proper ventilation or air conditioning inside the elevator, which made the situation very uncomfortable and almost suffocating.
7. There is only a mirror in the bathroom, which makes it very inconvenient for guests (especially women) to get ready or do makeup.
On a positive note, the overall room cleanliness was acceptable, although the towels could be improved.
The interior design is visually appealing at first glance. However, the layout is not practical. Watching TV from the sofa is uncomfortable as it is positioned at an awkward angle. To face the TV directly, everyone has to sit in a row on the stairs, which is quite inconvenient.
Overall, while the design may initially attract guests, the functionality and basic comfort fall short of expectations.

AAnonymous UserOverall, okay for a night stay.
Pros :
- COMFY BEDS
- Nearby shops and food.
Cons :
- There was a really weird uncomfortable smell in the lift lobby on the 8th floor and in our rooms.
- Need to go to the counter to let them know abt going out every time. (Scan touch & go card)
- Rooms were rlly dark and dim and looks like nobody stayed here for a long time.
- Shower had no doors or shower curtain so have to control when showering to prevent water getting all over the floor.
- Slippers have to be requested during check-in and we weren’t inform about it and had to go back down to ask, the staff even stood around waiting for tips.

GGuest UserThe hotel is quite clean, I think its because it is quite new. Good to stay and sleep. Go to famous place of interest is about a 15 min grab ride only. Everytime you drive out of the hotel, need to pay $5, not sure why they implement this rule, other hotels I stay do not have such rule. Also, when my family and I were visiting one the facilities in the hotel, one of the function room, there were some people cleaning inside and they shouted at us with very loud & sudden voice so we didn't go in. They were cleaning the floor and I think they were afraid that we will step inside because the floor is clean but I feel that they should not have shouted. We are the hotel guest so if they do not want us to step into the function room, they could have said it nicely instead of shouting. My family and I were startled by the sudden shout. The front reception people were very friendly and professional though.

AAnonymous UserWe arrived really late, around 1 AM, so there was only one staff member at the front desk for check-in. We asked if we could switch rooms if ours wasn't suitable, but he said they were fully booked and had no other options. The next day, we saw that the entire building had tons and tons of empty rooms 😂. Our family room was very spacious, but the furniture and facilities felt incredibly outdated, like something from 20 years ago. The windows even had several black mold spots 😂, and the towels weren't very clean and were haphazardly placed in the bathroom, which also lacked a separate shower and toilet. There were ants on the table in the room, and black and red marks on the walls. Around 11 PM, after we had already gone to bed, someone prank-called our doorbell, which gave us quite a fright. There were documents on the table and bed stating how hard the hotel worked to achieve its 4/5-star rating. However, if you wanted an extra blanket or additional tea, you had to pay separately for each, with prices clearly listed.
Pros: The hotel's location is excellent. It's right next to Heroes' Square, making it very convenient to walk to all the main attractions!
