"Round-trip shuttle service (Pingyao Ancient City Station, bus station, Pingyao Station): We came from a friend's house in Taiyuan, and they offer a high-speed rail station shuttle service. Since it was raining that day, they even brought each of us an umbrella, which was incredibly thoughtful. The driver was polite and very enthusiastic. The car that picked us up was a modified MPV, with luxurious interiors, comfortable seats, and was clean and hygienic. The hotel itself is very well-designed, blending classical elegance with a modern touch. The rooms are spacious, impeccably clean, and the beds are very comfortable. The front desk staff were all very welcoming. We stayed for two nights and were completely satisfied with everything. The most, most, most highly recommended aspect is their breakfast. Although it's a set menu, it will completely change your definition of a 'set menu breakfast' for this price point. It was truly perfect, and I will definitely choose this hotel again next time I visit Pingyao."

"I did not want to leave. That is the most honest thing I can say about Xihe Academy. ”Guest house” is a label that does not prepare you for what this place actually is. If you are American and hearing that term for the first time, forget whatever image just came to mind. This is not a MIL suite tucked behind someone's garage. This is a fully realized, deeply considered experience wrapped inside one of the most stunning environments I have ever walked into. The courtyard alone stopped me mid-step. The surrounding area looks like an active film set -- you keep half-expecting to hear ”action” called from somewhere just off camera. And then you step inside and somehow it gets even better. I genuinely lost my words. The room is the kind of space where you realize someone has actually thought of everything. Included minibar. Fresh fruit and snacks. Loose-leaf tea so you can brew a proper cup. Bathrooms fully stocked down to the shower shoes. You can arrive with nothing but your clothes and be completely at ease. They have handled the rest. The staff made all of it feel personal. When a language barrier created a small miscommunication, they were patient and gracious without a flicker of frustration. When I joked that I had gone a little crazy shopping and could not close my suitcase, they immediately offered suggestions to help. That warmth is not a policy -- it lives in the people. They coordinate meals as well, and mine was delivered to my room and genuinely delicious. One thing I will say without hesitation: use their driver. This is a private, gated area and you cannot simply grab a random car or rideshare. Arrange your pickup from the train station or airport in advance -- it is seamless, affordable, and completely worth it. Do not skip this step. This was my first guesthouse experience, and Xihe Academy has set a bar I was not expecting to clear so soon. If you stay here, you will not regret it. Five stars is not enough."

And due to an unforeseen issue on the first night, they upgraded our room again, showing their excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Upon check-in, they immediately offered food recommendations and a travel guide. 3. Every afternoon, we received a delightful delivery of fresh fruit, selected snacks, and a heartwarming sweet soup. It was a lovely touch that made us feel very cared for. Plus, breakfast could be delivered to our room to enjoy at our leisure. Overall, this was an absolutely amazing stay!"

"Dude, I'm gonna strongly recommend Yunjincheng Mansion! It's got an awesome location, right in the heart of Pingyao Ancient City. You can just take a stroll to major attractions like Rishengchang Draft Bank. It's super convenient to get around. The century - old courtyard has that classic and elegant charm, so peaceful and refined. You can totally immerse yourself in the style of the Shanxi merchant compound. The guest rooms are clean, tidy, and comfy. The toiletries are really good, and the stay was great. They even gave us a foot - soaking bucket. How sweet is that! The breakfast has a wide variety. There are freshly - made hand - cut noodles, pure Shanxi aged vinegar brewed on the spot, and freshly - ground coffee that smells amazing and tastes so rich. The staff are friendly and polite, and their service is so detailed. The turn - down service at night really shows they care. I felt so comfortable throughout the stay. I'll definitely choose this place next time I come!"

The owner was incredibly thoughtful, contacting us a day in advance to provide parking information and even turning on the air conditioning in our room beforehand – more considerate than I expected. Because we got carried away sightseeing, it was already dark when we arrived in Pingyao. Luckily, the owner had sent someone to wait for us along the parking lot route, otherwise we might have missed our stop. The hotel's location is very convenient, easily accessible from West Street and South Street. The breakfast was also excellent and definitely worth trying. Oh, and the owner even upgraded us to a cave dwelling room and gave us a discount coupon – thank you! I felt that the businesses I encountered in Pingyao were all very friendly and had excellent service. Highly recommended!"

"A very nice hotel with very friendly staff and nice rooms. We recommend the VIP building. The breakfast was chinese and western. The hotel is placed outside the city wall and can be reached easily with taxi or DiDi, but only a few steps to enter the ancient city area. The only field to improve is some basic English for foreign guests, but at the end we managed to communicate :-). See you again!"
