Wat Worachettharam means "Beloved Brother".

#VisitAyutthaya Wat Worachettharam The name of this centuries-old royal temple translates to “Beloved Brother”. Therefore, it is assumed from the evidence that this temple was built by King Ekathotsarot in 2136 B.E. at the site of the royal cremation of King Naresuan the Great, his elder brother. The main pagoda was also built to enshrine the remains of the former king. The main pagoda is made of brick and mortar in the shape of an inverted bell in the Sukhothai style, and is very large. The pediment is decorated with pottery patterns similar to the art at the arch of Wat Mahathat. There are patterns of garlands, thrones, and pillars around the umbrella that are still intact, as well as stucco Buddha images in the Mara-Vijaya attitude.
