3-Star Hotels in Saxony, Germany

We stayed in this hotel twice during the last month. The first time we had a little suite on the top floor of the Bastei. This was fine, if a little bare. Checkin and breakfast were fine. The second time we found ourselves in the annex, the Konigstein. Check in at the Bastei was poor with 20 minute queue. The annex had a fast food stall across the front and entry is by room card. The lift was dirty when we arrived and smelled of vaping and did not work properly. The impression is of an unmanned operation. The room was on the 6th floor and was noisy during the evening, from the very busy street below. At breakfast we were instructed to sit at a table already occupied by another guest and the staff member was aggressive with us saying the nicer tables were all for groups. No sign of these by the time we left of course. Also over-zealous table clearing, go to the buffet for more and your cutlery and coffee are gone. So better check in, maybe safes in the better rooms, and some serious staff training about customer service, rather than bullying.

10 minutes walk from Dresden Hauptbanhof and 15 minutes walk to Neumarktplatz. Big shopping mall next door and PragerStrasse has all kinds of shops and restaurants. All in all a great location. Our room was an unusual layout with a large foyer and even larger bedroom but with sp**** furniture. We liked it as we had plenty of room to spread out. All the staff we met were smiling and helpful.

This hotel looks like a jewel in Dorint's crown. Nowhere else will you find such a balanced mix of nostalgic rules and contemporary professionalism. The staff and management do everything they can to make sure you enjoy your stay, and a promise made will not be taken back. It is wonderful to have breakfast in the restaurant on the 26th floor with a panoramaview of the city, and with an extensive choice of fresh items in the buffet. Bar, fitness and swimming pool give you the ultimate feeling of relaxation after the effort. With window and roomdoor open, energy-consuming air conditioning is unnecessary. Did you forget something? then it is already arranged before you expect it. The only downside is the lack of extra pillows, blankets and towels in the room, but no doubt the extremely dedicated 24x7 reception will inmediately take care of that on request. And surprise: a week after your stay you will receive a personal message from director Marcel Günther in which he asks if everything went according to plan. He invites you to please come back to his hotel if you need to be in the cultural city of Chemnitz. Chapeaux! ;)

Room: This is a budget hotel, so the rooms are a bit small, but there are plenty of creative use of space here and the room still has a desk and chair. If you've ever been to a Super 8 Motel in the USA, this place feels like a noticeable upgrade. The mattress was comfortable but the pillows caused some neck pain, would prefer firmer pillow options. There isn't a coffee machine in the room (forcing you to buy it from downstairs) but of course, Super 8 is a budget brand. Towels and soaps are included. Noise was quiet, our room faced the backside of the building. Wifi: I didn't run a test, but expect around 15-20mbps (maybe more) Zoom calls and streaming Netflix were totally fine. Service: Melanie (front desk person with glasses) was amazing, and provided a level of service I expect at an Iberostar resort or a Hilton hotel, honestly. Her English was fluent and was willing to use Google Translate to bridge some language barriers with some of the friendly Ukrainian guests. She had a kind attitude and was a delight to interact with if you had questions. For management, please promote her to a supervisor or management role. If all the other employees were like her, my review would be 5 stars. The cleaning staff were friendly enough, but knocked on our door at 8:50AM on a sunday morning to ask us whether we wanted cleaning or not which was a bit early for my taste as I was asleep. Please note, the front desk people in the night shift are not as fluent in English, so be prepared for some Google Translate and hand gestures. There was one particular gentleman (with short brown hair) that gave me and my partner some weird vibes. Asked very in-depth questions about our relationship instead of answering some questions we had about the hotel. Nothing happened, but just a very uncomfortable feeling. Location: This was very central to Chemintz Zentrum, also about 15 minutes to the Chemnitz Hbf by foot. Lots of food options around, honestly a very good location. Food: Breakfast wasn't too bad actualy for 12 euros. Automatic Expresso/Coffee machine, selection of juices, bread rolls + assortment of spreads, scrambled eggs, bacon/sausage, waffle/pancakes, and some cold meats. While there are cheaper options at some bakeries, this breakfast is worth it. NOTE: Because of construction, the parking garage is VERY tricky to get into. Basically, go in the bus/tram lane towards Biendo Hotel opposite of Stadthallen Park (if you're not from Germany, this is sketchy but it's legit). After 250m, you'll then see Vapianos on the left, turn into that area, there's a small road that hugs the building opposite of Vapianos. Then turn left into the Eins Energie building. Parking garage is on the right.

Very well located and run, Must have been built 50/60 years ago and would have been a showpiece hotel in DDR times. So, steps in odd places and a retrofitted lift. Would be a bit awkward for a wheelchair. Now fully renovated to a determinedly 3-star standard, ie only one room chair and that upright, limited toiletries, austere art/free decor. But a spacious very clean room and bathroom, good breakfast. Curiously we were asked if we needed the room cleaned every day. Rather pricey- but this is central Dresden.

Our family of 4 adults stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in the middle of July. The hotel room has two bunk beds, which worked well for us, but might be a problem for some families. The room was big and had a central air conditioning, which - after some adjustments - worked for us. The cleaning prior to our arrival was good. The bathroom and the water flow were excellent. It would be great to be able to connect your own USB-memory to watch some of our own movies on TV together, but this was not possible. Our major disappointment was with the breakfast. We found the choice of foods rather limited and some of them uneatable. In our view, a larger choice of fresh fruits, berries, and pastries would help. The parking lot was next to the hotel in a separate building (bus station parking) and there were always plenty of places. The daily price is reasonable, when taking into account the central location, and the hotel provides an additional small discount. The hotel is located in the city center, which is good to reach restaurants and downtown attractions.

Hotel just outside the city centre, which is conveniently reached in 15 minutes' tram (the stop is just in front). The hotel was very comfortable and very comfortable. Good variety for breakfast, there is even a special kids corner with kids plates and cups, juices, candies etc. Free underground hotel parking.

Beautiful youthful environment. Our room was very spacious and clean, as was the bathroom. We slept well in incredible silence, despite being right in the center. The room was hot, but we were able to turn down the radiator, which is not entirely easy if you go to a hotel (I have just had to endure the heat and not be able to do anything in another hotel). An important thing is that it is very close to the historic center and, nearby there are many places and at the end of the road, a place where we had a good Luka's breakfast. It will drip for anyone coming to Leipzig I highly recommend it.

The staff were tremendous and very helpful and polite, particularly the young lady at reception. We arrived for the MotoGP and one of the nice things to do when you get back from the race is to re- watch with the commentary however the wifi in the room was non existent or kept cutting in and out and to say the least was frustrating. Phone signal was also dreadful in the room. Great WiFi in the reception area but not what you need. Our friends watching the football said the reception area telly signal kept cutting in and out so not ideal eh ! Breakfast was great, good value and the person running it was really friendly and efficient. No on site restaurant which was a shame but Burger King very nearby. Train station 5 mins walk away to get into Chemnitz central and access to all the amenities

I had a great stay at this hotel and would definitely consider again. The rooms were clean, modern, decent view and delicious breakfast!! I was so happy with my stay, and the staff members were excellent!However if there’s just 1 thing I can recommend, please add a kettle for the room. Hope to be back soon.

Communication with reception workers as a English speaking person not quite good. There is need to have an English speaking reception worker. No shower caps in the shower, little interaction with guests..... Rude reception lady (short one) when spoken to in English- her respone was like - ”i cant undestand what you are saying” in a rude manner. The tall lady and gentleman were very polite and hospitable. when i was finally leaving, just past five minutes after check out time, some worker at the door checking on me yet i was just about to get out, already packed. He told me the same reception lady had sent him. That was rude... Give a guest like 15min to leave as you have the whole afternoon before the room is occupied again. on saying bye to the reception lady she didn't respond. could be racism as i am from Africa i guess. Poor lady receptionist..... I was just a traveller not a resident and nothing to lose from her attitude.... I would not recommend the hotel again knowing she's still there. need for extra training i guess or ouright racism. no dinnner made even for purchase outside booking terms, quite low in that.... not good for traveller with kids due to that..... The room was good though, clean and serene, breakfast excellent, excellent service at breakfast time by staff in the kitchen

From the time we walked in until we left, the 4 nights 5 days were the BEST. Staff greeted us with a smile, we requested our room away from the lift and he went out of his way to find us a perfect room. Any time we came to reception every staff working at the Hotel could not do enough and always smiling What a lovely atmosphere, we loved it and cannot praise enough for the staff. The only disappointment was not the the staff maybe the hotel management policy where you don't get your room cleaned. But PLEASE at least empty the bins in the room. Not hygienic leaving rubbish in the room for so long. And phone in the room would be better for emergency please. If we slipped how do we get help. Again I know the staff would do anything to help but need to be able to contact

It is a great hotel, the service is top. The Hotel Crew is friendly. Breakfast buffet is rich and fresh. The rooms are large and friendly furnished. The location is so that you can also reach the city walking distance and about 10 minutes. We could park our car in the deep garage for 12 nights , I think on the street with a parking ticket we would have come more expensive and it would not have been so safe. We are satisfied and will come back in any case . Thanks to the hotel team !!!!!

In the centre. Park in one of the many underground parkings and go out to the square with the Frauenkirche in front. The parking is expensive (EUR 25 per day), but to have a two-step car in the centre of a city can be stayed. We book by signaling that we will arrive between 19 and 20, we receive confirmation mail without the indication that the reception closes at 19.... We arrive, there is a telephone number on the door and the indication to go to the reception some doors further: It is not easy to call a German number when the German is not known. After a few minutes, a girl will come up and tell us to go to the Suitess Hotel at a few hundred meters and the key will be given there: a few hundred meters is true, but if you have the baggage and if it isn't the best rain. A poster in front of the door or a response mail with the info would be appropriate. Mini-apartment large, clean, with bathroom and cooking angle, nothing to say, perfect and comfortable.

All staff were very friendly and premature but not put friendly ☺️ We spent two nights at the Holiday Inn Dresden City South and everything was very clean and also the famous hair on the bed or in the shower was NOT here to see. Although we were only staying for two nights, we have always got a fresh made bed and fresh towels without which you had to take care of any way. I myself, as my friend says, are very pinging, but for the booked price of just €75 the night including breakfast we were fully satisfied. We were the second time in the shortest time guests in this comfortable and modern hotel because we liked it so well and we felt well around. Here the guest really doesn't miss anything! What we liked very well: every day all staff* from all departments such as kitchen, reception, service, etc. are together to talk to each other for a short breakfast break. Because of my round birthday, we received a room upgrade to a great suite at our second visit. This was notably larger, had a box, bathroom and toilet room are separated here. Very pleasant, especially when you are too second. At this point again my sincere thanks for this wonderful gift!!! (Just good that nobody saw how we were gratified and how children jumped around). We will certainly come back, I'm looking forward to it 😘

This is my second Motel One and I did not think it was possible to have a room more spartan or smaller than in Berlin Mitte..but I was wrong. As a single I have 1 towel, 1 set of pillows, 1 duvet, no washcloth (none in Berlin either). There are no nightstand, just a shelf that you would use for stacking clothes if you unpack. 3 hangers. When you book, they ask if you are single or double. This is why. My companion is with her husband and paid more for a double. Higher floor and 2 of each. On the flip side, it is in a great location. I had to close the window because of the church bells and street noises. You have a lively bar and breakfast while very expensive at $13.50 is great. You could skip it and walk up the block to several bakeries. Avoid a car if possible. The lot is extremely tight. $15 per day. So while cheap and clean, the other costs add up. You have the bare minimum but with great common areas. If you do have a car, turn left into an open lot…before you get to the street that is the motel one parking garage. Same price, but easier to manage.

We booked for a family of 5 (3 of them kids). We got a family double room with 4 beds. For the little one not bed was there, but he had to sleep in the middle of a king size bed with the bigger ones. As all rooms were full, they could not offer an alternative room. At least we got an additional blanket and pillow. The beds were clean, but the rest of the rooms were badly cleaned. The ground was sticky and we found coffee spots at the door. The bathroom was smelling badly. We had booked a parking lot, but the entrance was only 1,90m tall, so our van could not pass it and we had to park on the street. At least canceling the lot was no problem. The price was fair, but we will not stay there again, because of the bad rooms.

Although the hotel is on a very deserted street, it is very close to the city's most famous Gewandhaus Concert Hall. Across the square in front of the concert hall is the old town. The walking range is not large, so it is not a bad place. convenient. The facilities in the room are very basic, the bed is also very simple and low, and the bedding is also very basic. When I came, Leipzig was busy with the Gaut Music Festival, so the hotel may be more expensive during this period.

This property is in a great location in central Leipzig. An easy 10 minute walk from the central train station. Apartment was massive, modern, secure and very clean. No air conditioning though and we stayed in middle of summer - the room was very hot even with the plug in fan provided we were a little too warm. Also getting the access to the room is a little complicated but once we managed to get the information about how to check in (is all online), it was good. I would recommend staying here and I would stay again.

The room I stayed at came right from the 70s and was seemingly never renovated. Awful taste but also pretty run down. Mattress was okay and shower hot, so it got two stars. Also staff were friendly. Paid this unbelievably high price for this old hotel. Price included breakfast but there was simply no space for me to sit down or even get to the buffet, so I ended up stopping at a bakery instead. Certainly never again

The hotel was chosen for the second time and it was the right. It is clean, the staff is very friendly and stands for one there. Breakfast is sufficient for everyone in it The rooms are well furnished and very clean. All of this hotel is accessible by foot. And the parking house is shortly well to drive with us.We come back

The hotel/boardinghouse is located walking to the station in a residential area. The entrance and the rooms are open through an app, so check-in is timely flexible. The telephone registration was fast and uncomplicated. The rooms are very beautiful, good bed, balcony, beautiful, even small bathroom. Water, coffee and tea is available in the room for free. Breakfast was fantastic. Unfortunately, we were there on the days when the restaurant had closed, but it was warmly recommended by travelers who were there once. I too: recommendation for stay.
