JohnDeer62Best Western Walworth Castle Hotel looks like you’re about to stay in a medieval fortress, but the experience is closer to a slightly ******* Premier Inn with turrets.
The castle exterior is genuinely impressive. The inside feels like it was last renovated during the English Civil War. Creaky floors, questionable décor, piggy smell breakfasts and recepcionist smile thicker than the castle walls.
That said, it’s strangely charming in the same way old pubs and abandoned stately homes are charming. Not luxurious, not modern, but definitely memorable.

cynthia goThe room was spacious and comfy beds. It comes with free breakfast, which is good. Breakfast was alright, the same food every morning. The only thing that lets us down is one of the staff in the restaurant. We sat there for ages waiting to be served. Because he won't be serving us not until 8pm. So we've waited patiently, because we have just arrived that night and was very hungry. This man was serving other people, but not us. So my husband and I were wondering what's going on. So my husband went to the till and queued up. But when it's my husband's turn, he asked, ”Who's next?? Obviously, my husband was in front of him. Then, when my husband asked if we could order now, he looked at him and me and saying ”Oh, just wait to your table, and I will get your order from there. . Maybe because I am the only Asian there. I feel like there's a bit of ****** to be honest. We went back to our table and waited to be served again. But he didn't turn up and served the next table beside and served some other customer who came after us. I was so mad and upset. But I don't want cause a scene. So we we just went out and looked for another restaurant outside the hotel. We're so disappointed, and we didn't expect to be treated like that. The receptionist was very nice and helpful. I just forgot his name. But the one at the restaurant is not nice at all. He ruined our family holiday. We won't be coming back anymore there.

Absolutely spotless and finished to a high standard. Decor is modern and appealing throughout. Staff are helpful. Lovely restaurant and fantastic coffee served there. The only slight issue I would say, is that you can hear guests in the next room very easily and this isn’t desirable for obvious reasons. We sadly ended up with very noisy guests in the room next to us the first night we stayed and this caused considerable disruption to our sleep pretty much all night. Saying this, we didn’t notify the staff though (so they may have been able to help) as there was no phone in the room. The next night was fine and completely silent so this would be dependent on who you have staying near you.

The accommodation was close to the theatre and centre of town. The room was very small, but it was clean and okay for the one night we booked.

Liane GanThe self check in was quite simple, and they had our room ready before the original check-in time. The room was very clean, staff are not always present but they are friendly and helpful. Really close to a bus station that has direct bus to Beamish Museum, and walking distance to Aldi, Asda, and some fast food/takeaway nearby. Really good for non-driving people visiting Beamish Museum. The walls may be thin and could occassionally hear sounds from other room, but it's an overall good experience.

V0idMy stay at this Premier Inn was excellent! The service was friendly and attentive, making me feel welcomed throughout. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, with a comfortable room. Conveniently located near the train station and just a short distance from multiple bus stops with many routes. It is located right next to Millennium Square, which features a variety of restaurants!
Highly recommend this hotel for an enjoyable stay!

A Really nice hotel, cheap parking , we upgraded to a double with sofa , the staff were lovely, nothing was too much trouble , breakfast was great a good choice although when it’s busy there’s not much room to stand and wait , I always seemed to be in someone’s way , and things where running out , although the staff were always on the go it didn’t seem to be anticipated but on the whole brilliant value for money

They had a simple answer ‘No’ for everything.
Can I check in 30 mins early? No. Pay £15 extra. Paid!
Laundry service available? No
Microwave available to heat food in the restaurant? No
It’s a very basic hotel. Not recommended for families. Asked to clean the room; they forgot to inform the cleaner. Even when they cleaned the room the next day, they just changed the linen. Everything else was as is. Poor experience overall

Hotel was very clean and the staff are very helpful and attentive, however, their kitchen appears to be understaffed. The breakfast served by a waiter/waitress but on the first day,(Saturday), after ordering our breakfast we waited one hour before it came, on the second day we waited 45 mins before it arrived. By this time the toast and tea were cold.
