Nice hotel, in a very good central area. We stayed for 2 nights during first days of April. There was not any noise problems during night. My only negative is that the room looks bigger in the photos than reality and no optionof opening the window.. But still enough space for 2 people 2 single beds. If you can also send your luggages to next hotel even better.
Room was super spacious, which is hard to find in Japan. It was a suite with the living room added with 2 extra bed. A little kitchenette. 2 WC and a shower/bath tub. Location is close to Blue tram, Chuden-Mae stop. 10mins walk to shopping street and Atomic Peace Dome. Stayed for one night.
The Washington hotel in Hiroshima is positionally one of the best hotels that I had the pleasure of staying at as it is located directly beside a PARCO and a Don Quijote. In addition to that, directly opposite of the hotel is a Familymart convenience store and there is also a Sukiya positioned behind the hotel.
The hotel is also located roughly 15-20 minutes away from Hiroshima station ( by streetcar) and roughly 10 minutes away is a round one stadium.
The hotel’s staff were helpful and accomodating and when my friend and I encountered an error with the check in counter, one of the staff dropped what they were doing just to manually check us in. We would recommend this hotel for those who wish to have great convenience at their fingertips along with a very comfortable stay in Hiroshima
The hotel is easily accessible by foot and surprisingly a big hotel with escalators (easy for travellers with luggage) and a big hotel lobby (considering that it is a business hotel in Japan). Stayed as a family of 3 (with a child). The room was fine with 2 beds but no space for big luggage. We actually paid extra at the Front Desk for my child to stay together but was disappointed that it does not come with an extra bathroom towel nor room slippers. I asked for 1 more pillow and was rejected too. But one of the male staff at the Front Desk was extremely helpful which was a bonus. He gave a suggestion in passing me 2 blankets which I can stack them and use as a pillow. We liked the view from our room too. We are able to see the the busy train tracks with Shinkansen and cargo trains. The stay comes with breakfast and dinner too. Overall, it was a great stay. Thank you.
Hotel is very near the Peace Memorial Park and only steps away from Chuden-mae streetcar stop. It is also within walking distance of the highway bus station at Sogo department store. My room faces the streetcar stop and is just of perfect size to me. The bathroom is a tad small but hey, this is Japan after all where space is a premium. I didn’t add on breakfast. The hotel provides tea and coffee at the lobby (from 06:00 to midnight) and also offers complimentary nightwear and free rental of pillow. The furniture is a bit dated but still functional. I have no complaints at all and would highly recommend especially to solo travellers. And the hotel personnel were so kind and helpful and helped guide me on the streetcars to take to Miyajima and they also sold me the day-ticket. I was able to leave my bags at the lobby before and after checking in and out respectively. To be honest, I’d prepared myself for the worst after reading some reviews but I had a great stay. No regrets!
I stayed here when I visited Hiroshima, and it was very convenient as it's close to Hiroshima Station. There was also a convenience store nearby. The staff were very kind as well.
I visited for a baseball game.
It was my first time in Hiroshima, so I chose this hotel based on its vibe. It's within walking distance of the restaurant district known as 'Ekimae West.' It takes about 15 minutes to walk to Mazda Stadium, but it's definitely within walking distance. I also walked to Nagarekawa (or Nagarekawa?), the downtown entertainment area. I think it's a perfect location for sightseeing, no matter where you're going. There seems to be a path connected to the underground passage, but I couldn't figure it out until the end.
The staff were very polite and helpful with all my questions, which left a great impression. They even held my luggage after the baseball game, so it was a well-thought-out and convenient location. The room was, of course, clean. There was also a welcome coffee station, and the hotel itself was calm and not rushed. Including the cost-performance, I'd give it a 100/100. Thank you for a wonderful trip!
The location of this hotel is excellent. It’s right next to Peace Memorial Park, directly behind the museum, in a quiet and pleasant area. It’s about a 3–5 minute walk from the tram stop and around 5 minutes to the main shopping street. If you get this hotel at a good price and only plan a short stay focused on the Peace Park, the location is definitely a plus.
The room itself, however, was extremely small. Seating was uncomfortable — only a small stool with no back, and in my case the screws were sticking out, making it unsafe and unpleasant to use. You are basically either on the bed or out of the room.
The biggest issue was severe condensation and dampness. The room had extreme moisture problems — water running down the walls and windows, and the bed and floor becoming damp overnight. I woke up with wet feet and later realised why. This is not normal condensation; it was excessive and clearly an ongoing issue. I raised this with the front desk when checking out, but it was brushed off. After contacting Trip.com with photos and videos, the hotel refused responsibility once I had checked out. Trip.com eventually offered partial compensation, but the hotel itself showed no accountability.
Because of this, I would not stay here again. I am not overly picky with hotels, but a damp room that can make guests sick is unacceptable.
Also, I do not recommend the breakfast. You receive a very small bento box with unclear contents and a bottled tea. For the price, you are far better off going to a nearby convenience store like Lawson.
Overall: great location, but poor room conditions and lack of responsibility from the hotel. There are better options in this area.
Great value if you need to live near Hiroshima Station, since it is only a very short walk from the station.
The room is perfectly fine for one person, the toilet is a bit small but usable.
The station nearby has plenty of restaurants to eat at, though not many places for breakfast. You can eat at the hotel, but the hotel only sells one type of onigiri set for breakfast.
The biggest downside is that the hotel is very close to the Shinkansen tracks, which makes a lot of noise. You will need earplugs if you cannot stand the noise (if you want to sleep early, or if you want to wake up late).
Great location, 5 mins walk (flat surface) from Hiroshima Station, convenient store exactly next to the hotel.
Great service from front desk staffs, proactively assisting guests during check in.
Self-service luggage storage available, just simply lock it with the IC card (Transportation card). However, it’s quite full during check out time, consider to use the paid lockers (¥500-1200) at Hiroshima Station if needed (next to the station taxi stand, <5 mins walk from the hotel)
Spacious rooms, with individual air conditioning/ heater, and humidifier. The room is neat and clean, no weird smells, there’s a window as well. Amenities are provided, located next to the front desk.
Overall great experience with Sotetsu Hotel, definitely worth the price.
