Great value for money, and it's really close to the Sokcho Express Bus Terminal. There's a convenience store right downstairs, and plenty of places to eat nearby. The room even has a small bathtub so you can relax with a soak, haha!

The facilities were incredibly clean. The interior design and furnishings were very luxurious. I seriously wanted to take the showerhead home! It was the best~~ And above all, the ocean view from the room was superb~ I comfortably watched the sunrise from the terrace. The view from the rooftop was also great. The breakfast was neat, and every single setting showed a professional's touch. I truly highly recommend it!! I had a wonderful and relaxing stay^^

The view was so wonderful, the sea view welcomes you immediately when you enter the room. Love that it’s located with the red city bus stop right in front of it (to Songjeong beach). It’s located at Anmok beach and all the wonderful coffee cafes (& Faro Restaurant and Potato Soup Restaurant - serve solo travellers) & convenience stores were within walking distance. The cafes can be crowded during the weekends but you can just take out your coffee and enjoy the view in your room. The pension is about 10-15mins away from Gangneung KTX station by taxi. Checking in and out was a breeze, just drop the keys at the counter.

Second time staying here, so knew the location was excellent for a quiet break. It's a basic hotel, so there's not much there except the room and a 7/11 in the basement. Not exactly a friendly experience at check in, but functional. The only real issue was the huge and extremely bright emergency exit sign above the door inside the room. This thing lit the room completely. You don't need any other lights in the place. We ended up covering it with a towel, which dimmed it enough for sleep, but the room was nowhere near dark. It's enough to make me think twice about returning to what otherwise is a very good simple hotel.

We really enjoyed staying here. The room quality, and the location near the sea were great. The view of the sea was a bonus. We found a good supermarket nearby for our needs. We visited Seoraksan national park each day and this destination was easily accessed by the 7 or 7-1 bus. Thoroughly recommended

I stayed here for one night after hiking with friends. I turned up the heat in the ondol room, so I woke up feeling very dry, but refreshed! The room was reasonably clean, but the hangers were too high, making it difficult to hang my clothes. And there was something sticking out, either the door lock battery or the wire, under the door handle. I booked two rooms, but they assigned me to different floors, which was a bit inconvenient. The location and service were okay, but the limited on-site parking meant many large cars were parked in the compact car spaces. Next time I visit Mindungsan, I'll definitely stay here for the affordable price! The room itself was the same, and I woke up in the morning, pulled the curtains, and enjoyed the view.

When my friend and I arrived at the hotel, we were greeted warmly by the staff at the desk (who spoke to us in English) and we were checked-in quickly. I was expecting the hotel room to just be another average room, but honestly we were so pleased with how clean and spacious it was and the bathroom had a big bathtub! The bed was so comfortable and we slept like babies! In terms of location, it was about a 4-6 minute bus ride from the bus station which was great. And it’s close to a street filled with all sort of restaurants - so it was a very convenient location. I would definitely go there again if I went to Gangneung.

I travel to Yangyang sometimes, and this was my first time at a newly built hotel. It was clean, but there was no information on the parking lot elevator or the lobby location, so I got lost a little. The accommodation was clean and quiet, so it was very nice. It seemed like there weren't any guests, but it was quiet. It was clean, the water pressure was good, and everything was good. It was a mountain view, but it was pretty good. I come here sometimes, but there's nothing nearby except for a convenience store, and the sea is right in front, so it's nice to be able to see the waves crashing right after checking out. The hotel lobby had a nice exotic atmosphere, and I had a good night's sleep.

Because it's a newly built building, all the appliances are brand new. The room is fully equipped with an induction stove, cooking utensils, a drum washing machine, and a refrigerator (freezer). It's a resort-like experience. The location is perfect, between Yangyang and Sokcho. The convenience store is located on the first floor, and breakfast is 15,000 won per person. It's better than wasting time going out to eat. Even though Seongsu is notorious for the rip-off season in Gangwon-do, we booked here on a fixed rate basis. We had a wonderful time, from surfing to exploring. I've had many unfortunate experiences while traveling in Gangwon-do, but this accommodation was truly the best.

Location was about a 10minutes bus ride away from gangneung station and the bus terminal, but note that the hotel was a 5 minutes walk away from the bus stop. It's also about a 7 minutes walk to the market so there's plenty of food options. Room was pretty clean apart from some dust at the seating area around the curtains. As the room is filled with big windows and my room is opposite a mall, it gets pretty hot and no privacy so the curtains have to be closed most of the time so that's a pity. Service was good and they allowed me to check in early when I reached at 1230pm. Hotel feels safe and secure as the lift needed key access. Amenities was great as there was toothbrush, conditioner, lotion, scrub, bathrobe, room slippers.

TTuxannie WuanThe place is good, 7 minutes to ski and has a supermarket and eatery place nearby. Honestly the room is nice, with cooking facilities but the owner was not friendly at all. The toilet was stuck and leak they came with only the plunger and ask us settle ourself. Is winter and we came with kids, the kids built a snowman and they destroyed the snowman after we went for ski trip. We are a group of 10 and we wanted to cook our dinner. There is a small hut with table and chair and BBQ facilities, we ask to BBQ facilities (We are willing to pay, 10,000 won as stated) but she said is winter so we can’t use the BBQ pit, ended up we use the stove to cook up the meat. The husband and wife came in to the huts and told us we can’t do BBQ but we explained to her we just cook the meat and we didn’t do any BBQ. We left the place with cleaner than we came in. I have to WhatsApp her and show her the place is cleaned. The warn us that we must left the place by 1am but in fact all of us finished eh 9.30pm every day since we are tired from Ski. During the last day, they came to us and I was thinking they come and say goodbye but they just make sure we throw every single piece of rubbish outside the house. My husband wear shoe and just step to take our luggage and the owner insist us to take out the shoe before we went in to the house. Although we have explained, we just step in and take the luggage and go, he insisted us to take out the shoes. I have been travelling all around the world and we do understand every cultural is different but as the operator of tourist industry, the owner has to be service minded. If you can’t accept any international travellers then please do not list your place in any platform or put up a notice that international tourist is not permitted to stay there and we won’t book accordingly. Is such a shame to see this happened to us after our 5th trip to Korea and our 3rd trip to Pyeongchang for ski.

AAlbert0 travellerThe hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood of Gangneung, not close to the main centers of interest of many tourists. The hotel itself is quite new and modern and clean. The check-in is not open until 4pm, however you can self check-in earlier on a kiosk for an additional cost. I really appreciated the possibility to do a laundry for free, in my case it was needed. The bathroom is equipped with smart toilet which is nice. A complete Korean breakfast is offered in the morning. Around the hotel there are plenty of restaurants and cafes

IIsfp-Solo TravelerI took an Uber from the bus terminal and was dropped off at Building C because I just typed the hotel name — it happened to be the first building we passed, and I didn’t know that it wasn’t the main one. Building C has no reception, so I went up to Level 4 (if I remember correctly) for the kiosk check-in. It was a bit laggy, but I managed to complete the process and was assigned a room in Building A. I’m not sure if all rooms with the Ondol (heated-floor) type are in that building. I had to walk to Building A with my two suitcases, which took around 5-7 minutes — not too bad, but it felt a bit of a hassle after a long trip. The location, however, was really good. If you love catching the sunrise, you can simply wake up early and walk for about 2 minutes to the beach. I also booked an Uber ride to Seoraksan National Park for a 5 a.m. hike, which cost ₩17,500. The room was quite spacious, especially for a solo traveler. The only downside was that there’s no bidet or smart toilet. You might also want to bring your own large towel, as they only provide small ones, and no toothbrush kits — although there’s a vending machine on the first floor for toiletries and slippers if you need extras. The heating floor worked perfectly, and the room was very clean. It’s well-equipped with cooking and dining utensils, a built-in electric stove, a washing machine, and a large fridge — ideal for longer stays. There are also plenty of convenience stores, coffee shops, and restaurants on the first floor, and several attractions are within walking distance. Overall, it’s a great place to stay — comfortable, clean, and convenient for both short and long visits in Sokcho.

LLeia K.The Orchid Hotel was everything and more as described on their website and the reviews. I stayed in the superior room with 1 king bed which was very comfortable. The air conditioner is adjustable to your preference. The hotel was very clean, spacious, very friendly staff (24hr lobby staff)and in the perfect location. They provided robes, slippers, 2 bottled waters, clean towels daily. The bathroom has a bidet which is separate from the shower area. They also have a pot to heat water instantly and they provide coffee and camomile tea bags. There was a large desk area in this room and a large television. The location is right across the street from a large shopping mall that also has restaurants and walking distance to Musil (restaurants, cinema, shopping). They do have a pool and has pizza and beer every evening at rooftop bar. All your needs are very close to this hotel. The bus terminal is ~6 minutes walking distance and train is ~ 10 minute taxi ride. Approximately 2 miles is the outdoor market (food/shopping). Considerations: make sure to bring international chargers, translate app and if get Wow pass can top up with cash at 7/11 or CU. I did make several attempts to top up on Wow pass app with credit card and was having difficulty. The bus terminal and taxi’s accept international visa credit card. The bus terminal does not accept T card. I highly recommend this hotel. Thanks to the staff and cleanliness.

Outstanding
KKatsiaryna K.The best place I've ever stayed in! Everything was thought out to the smallest detail, comfortable and modern, very clean, cozy, and beautiful! The hostess is amazing, attentive and kind. The room is quite large and spacious, it is not stuffy, but in addition, it is possible to turn on the air conditioner or open the doors to the terrace without fear of mosquitoes flying in, because there are nets installed. Stuffiness in the room is a critical problem for me. And here it is perfectly solved. And the mattress and duvet are absolutely incredible. I don't know what kind of technology it is, but it was perfect: not too soft and not too hard, everything seemed to adapt to you, and in the morning you didn't want to get out of bed. I slept absolutely amazingly here. And what a wonderful bathroom, and the steam closet... I could go on and on listing the advantages of this place. Usually, when you come to another country, you only need to sleep in your room; you don't need much more. But here, we just wanted to be in the room! Because it's so nice and wonderful, because it's calm and peaceful. Unfortunately, our time in the city was limited; there was so much to see and do, but we returned to the hotel every evening with joy. It was an indescribable experience; we are absolutely delighted! I highly recommend it! And I would gladly come back here again. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

GGuest UserSuper nice sea view , room look exactly like the photo . Room with simple cooking equipment that u can cook ramen or little snack . Dryer , towel all those basic things are provided. But 2 things u have to take notes , this homestay type of property doest not have reception or person incharge at the area , even during check in , so make sure u contact with trip.com to get the check in information before u reach there , or else if u can speak korean or u will need to at-least have a number that can call Korean number to contact property management when u arrive and tell them u need check in , i think simple English like “check in “ they can understand. If u don’t have any number that can call or did not contact trip earlier on to get the information, u will be there and wait and u can’t check in smoothly for sure . Secondly this location is far from the city area (like ktx/ bus express terminal and anmok beach ) this location is only near to sundubu gelato by foot about 20min. My suggestion is if u wanna stay here , prepare food and drink and stay whole day just in room to enjoy the view of sea and nice room if u did not driving . Basically for the view and nice room , I will come back again .

CChamandarHotel is self check-in (no staff onsite), you’ll receive a message from the hotel on the luggage storage password (24 hrs access - no assigned locker, just a room), and your room number and password. Ignore the self checkin kiosk at the lift lobby, you can go straight to your room with the password (but early checkin results in extra $). There is a wonderful sea view cafe called Hajodae Coffee, right at the next building. The Naksansa temple is also within walking distance (dont follow Naver Map, just walk towards Naksan Beach Hotel - you can see a lot of people walking up the steep road up the hotel). Food was unfortunately meant for groups, so solo travellers might need to make do with whatever you can find (convenience stores were available everywhere). There is a coin karaoke at Level 2 of the hotel building, have fun. Just felt a bit cheated when the bed actually back faces the sea, you cant see anything from the bed 😂. On the side, the tiles in the balcony seemed really dangerous, like they were going to explode. Loved that you can take the bus 9-1 from Yangyang Passenger Terminal (if you come from Gangneung Intercity Bus Terminal). It runs surprisingly quite frequent, about 10mins.

GGuest UserWould 100% recommend. The hotel is located close to the bus terminal (2-minute walk) so it is easy to reach from Seoul. Sokcho beach is within walking distance of the hotel, and there are also plenty of good restaurants nearby. The room definitely lived up to our expectations. Check-in and check-out are done through a machine, but it’s very easy to use. The rooms are equipped with everything we needed and the view of the mountains are definitely a plus. We loved our stay here and would recommend it to anyone traveling to Sokcho.
