"Staying at Northern Sky Lodge was an incredible experience and the perfect spot for aurora viewing. I stayed for two nights and saw the Northern Lights both nights! The atmosphere is so warm and cozy, with a great living area and a fully equipped kitchen. Having breakfast with hot coffee and cocoa in the snow was just magical. You do need to rent a car and drive about 30 minutes from the city, but it's worth it because getting away from the city lights is essential for the clearest aurora views. Whether you want to spend the days fishing or be close to shopping, our Soldotna hotel has a great location for guests to enjoy everything the region has to offer. Close to the hospital so guests can visit loved ones, this Soldotna hotel has always put the comfort of guests first. Were centrally located with a great fitness center so guests can keep up their workout regimen. However, our Soldotna hotel really stands out because of our spacious parking facilities. Welcoming big rigs, campers, and RVS, theres plenty of room to park recreational vehicles and trucks of all sizes. Fishing, hunting, and hockey are the big sports in this area. At this Soldotna hotel, were happy to welcome outdoor enthusiasts from around the country. We also understand that a successful day in the outdoors is contingent upon a good nights sleep and a great breakfast. Our famous, free breakfast includes a waffle station, plenty of fresh fruits, sweet pastries, a variety of cold and hot cereals, favorite yogurts, and 100% Arabica coffee along with chilled juices. Our Soldotna hotel is also a favorite for business travelers. Some of our regular guests are here on business with the FAA, local oil fields, hospitals, and Kroger. However, no matter why youre in the region, depend on us to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Were proud to offer the best customer service in the region. Along with our quiet, well-appointed rooms and spacious parking, its easy to see why our Soldotna hotel is a guest favorite. We offer the best in service and amenities to make your stay special. "We used it for one night. The free shuttle from the airport came in about 5 minutes when I called from the airport. Check in late at night, sightseeing in the city the next day and going to China Onsen from the evening, so I regret that my hotel stay was short. If you are lucky, you can see the aurora from the room, and I woke up several times in the middle of the night and checked the sky from the veranda, but unfortunately I couldn't see it. In addition, there are many stuffed animals in the lobby and corridors? There are paintings, and there are small but fitness rooms and saunas, so I wanted to stay more and enjoy it."

This hotel has seen better days in its multi-decade existence. It has gone through some renovations and name changes, but still seems to be in transition as we walked through the third floor paint fumes (half of the floor was being painted while still having guests on the floor) to our room at the end of an extremely long corridor. It seems understaffed and whatever staff they do have are wearing multiple hats and running around or in training. We encountered a spectrum of personalities from sweet to terse to neutral in their customer service/reception area. Their booking system is also a bit unclear. I got emails for ”pre check-in” and ”set checkout” which seemed fine, but I had selected a cocktail pack at the pre check-in and input my credit card information but was not charged for it. If my CC isn't going to be charged at that point, why should I have to enter my CC information at all? It should be noted that these are ”requests” the front desk can choose to fulfill for the guest or not. They still asked for a CC to be put on file for incidentals too, during in-person check-in, so online ”pre check-in” just seems pointless. We had booked our multi night stay on the Trip app and it did have us prepay but also said there would be a $89 charge at the hotel for four nights. We later learned it was a ~22 bucks ”resort fee” for our stay per night. I guess the resort fee includes the amenities of free water and free shuttle service? Breakfast wasn't included for our booking. The person checking us in even charged a $$$$ deposit amount larger than the cost of our 4 nights there, so I hope they are more careful on other security deposit charges, in the future. On another note, the 24/7 airport shuttle was great and the downtown shuttle service was excellent. Their free shuttle service is definitely a highlight. Kind drivers also -- lovely service from all the drivers we met and always helped us with our bags and directions. Big appreciation for the shuttle vans and drivers! Free water (2 bottles per guest per day) included at the front desk, which you have to make sure to grab yourself, as there was no ”deliver to room” option during our stay. The outdated facilities are somewhat maintained, as we had slow drainage in our shower tub and slow drainage in our toilet that nearly led to a clog. Luckily, the maintenance team was able to remedy that after our first night. We stayed 4 nights in total, but that first night was rough. Going forward, I would recommend this place for someone seeking adventure in a property that is next to a beautiful lake with cool seaplanes and a nice lobby full of taxidermy and doesn't mind the potentially tumultuous reception or dated bathroom.

The hotel environment is very good and very clean! There are specimens of brown bears and wolves in the lobby, which is spectacular, and there is a free self-service coffee machine and hot water, which is too important for me to come back from minus 40 degrees outside! ! ! But! ! ! The hotel has no service at all. I never cleaned up the room for five days. I don’t know if it’s the same in American hotels.

The view from my room faces the ocean but the location at the end of Homer Spit isn’t exactly the best place to be because it takes 15mins walk to get to the centre where eateries, shops and ferries are located especially if you’re like me having to carry camera equipment. Taxi services tend to be slow at peak hours. Housekeeping is not efficient and needs to be reminded despite hanging the card out. Cups are not washed and bed is not made unless the card in the room(no card was placed in my room)is completed which was the excuse they gave. This happened for 5x out of my 9 nights where the other 4, I opted for no disturbance . Breakfast is buffet style but limited selection. My stay was over 9 nights. I have to return for another 3 nights on organised tour group. I informed receptionist upon checkout to put me in the same room. The answer is NO. The level of service at front desk and housekeeping needs improvement except for a special lady, Lena who is exceptionally friendly and helpful. All in all, there is no value for money.

The location is good, very close to the National Park and visitor centre. It has a restaurant and coffee shop and a shuttle buses. The hotel is very aged, needs a full upgrade. The fan is very old and noisy. When the next door room using shower/toliet you can hear clearly. All the towels/sheets should be for many years without change, small, hard and in dirty colour. The back door has no lock, using a wooden stick instead. The cleaners and front desk are untrained, they gave us a wrong instruction to our tour and ended up we missed it. When we asked for a room service to a cleaner, 2 managers came in and asked why we needed a room service(we only need to have a new towels and get rubbish removed). We were charged $44 for a luggage transfer fees when we check out( we’re not told when we checked in).Compared with other hotels at this area, the price is much higher. Princess lodge cross road is a much better choice but it was full when we booked it

The location is also close to the airport. There is a free airport transfer and you need to call the hotel yourself. Breakfast is relatively simple, American breakfast, eggs, oats, muffins, milk, juice and yogurt. The facilities are old, but still clean, the room is large, the bed is large, suitable for multiple families, there are Wendy burgers and McDonald's nearby. There is a 65 bus at the door, you can go to the city center, about 15 minutes drive, the fare is 2 knives, if you take a taxi, you have to 18 knives.

Although the hotel is still pretty new, there's a frightening amount of wear and tear already present on all furniture, doors and walls. While the cleanliness is as expected, sound insulation is non-existant, which is why it was hard to sleep when you could hear every vehicle outside as loud as if you were standing next to it (and our room was on the highest floor). Neither the check-in lady at the front desk nor the kitchen staff were very friendly. The breakfast was probably the worst we ever had. It's advertised from 6:30-9:30am but when we arrived at 7am, most must-have items like bagels were already gone and weren't refilled. Also, the pancake machine was broken. All in all, it was a very disappointing stay.

The hotel is very close to the airport, a 10-minute drive. It was relatively quiet at night. We stayed there for 5 days and didn't feel disturbed. There are great Korean and Japanese restaurants near the hotel. They are delicious and the food in the restaurants is good value for money. The hotel room is not very big but it is adequate for living. The facilities are relatively old and there is no exhaust fan in the bathroom. The quality of breakfast is good but the variety is monotonous, the food is the same every day. Eating for 5 days in a row is boring. Korean tour groups check in every day. The hotel's value for money is generally okay. If there is a better choice, I will not stay here again next time.

Stay at ramada was a 4/5 with early check in and nice and supportive staff. Location was near and walkable from downtown. Every excursion pickup point is literally 5-10min walkable from hotel. Only reasons for not giving 5/5 are 1. Room Phone was not working 2. Temperature control of Shower if our room was not working though they did provide alternate room just for shower purpose I would recommend this hotel for nearness to downtown and especially friendly staff
