The hotel is exactly what you would expect - a Hampton Inn in the middle of a large city. Parts of the neighborhood around it are not that great but it is almost adjacent to the convention center and I always felt safe. The hotel staff/security are very visible at all times. What makes this an excellent rating for me is the staff. The staff at this hotel are TOP NOTCH! Every single employee was kind, caring, and engaging. A shout out to Kevin who helped me get receipts together for submitting for business expenses. They even mailed a sweater to me that I left behind. Just can't say enough about the wonderful customer service at this hotel.

One of the bedsheets is very dirty, full of black stuff and hairs, obviously not cleaned or changed after the previous guest. Good thing is there are fridge and microwave in the room. Lobby is at second level.

It is relatively close to the airport and has scheduled airport pick-up and drop-off services.

The sound insulation was bad, can heard the water pipe, the people in the hallway, and the outside cars. If you are a quite sleeper, don't choice here. Overall the value of the cost is okay. The parking charge is not that reasonable.

The hotel is located in the airport area, and the corridor on the second floor can directly lead to the departure hall of the terminal building, which is a good choice for early and late passengers. The passenger flow at Philadelphia Airport is very large. The waiting line for the security check at 4:00 a.m. was so long that I was stunned. Even if it takes more than 5 minutes to go through the hotel corridor to the departure hall, we still need to reserve enough time for check-in and security check. of. I had dinner at the hotel restaurant during my stay, and the dessert tasted good.

Opposite the hotel is a century-old market with food from all over the world. It is very lively. The hotel room is large (family room), with pots and pans/tableware/microwave oven/toaster/coffee machine/refrigerator/dishwasher, etc. However, the hotel includes a buffet breakfast, so these cooking utensils are not used. . . Chinatown is on 9th Street, within walking distance, and the food is quite authentic. . . But most shopping malls in Philadelphia close at 19:00, so you must return to the hotel before dark, and try not to stay outside! !

This hotel was the best price-to-hotel experience value I have ever experienced in a hotel room. I found a shockingly low rate through a travel site. The reviews here were generally positive, so I booked it, even though I almost always book directly through the hotel. I was afraid the deal was too good to be true. It was not. Staying in the Residence Inn was a great experience. First, the location is ideal. The hotel is across the street from City Hall and within a block of subway stations for both lines. It's a 5-minute walk to JFK Plaza (the Love sculpture), a 5-minute walk to the Reading Terminal Market, a less than 5-minute walk to the restaurants and bars on 13th Street south of Market, and a 10-minute walk to the Independence Hall/Liberty Bell area. There is also a Phlash bus stop two blocks away, and from there you are a quick bus ride to the Old City section east and the museums north/west. It was about 15 minutes on the subway to the sports stadiums in the south part of the city. The hotel is really ideally placed in the city for visitors. The service was really good. The front desk agents were super nice and super helpful. The workers in the breakfast area were also very nice and helpful. The hotel itself is very nice. It felt like an old building that had been recently renovated. It's not luxurious, but it's clean, attractive and nicely maintained. The room itself was a true suite, with a bedroom with a door and a room (where you walk in) that had a living area, a full kitchen (full-size fridge, stove, microwave, etc.), and a table with chairs. There are TVs in both rooms. Everything was clean and well maintained in the room. The bed was comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was good. It was just a really comfortable place to be. The room had one of my favorite features: The bathroom sink was outside of the bathroom door, so one person could use the sink while the other went to the bathroom or took a shower. Our room came with breakfast, which was open 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. during the week and until 10 a.m. on the weekends. It was a standard hotel buffet (like a Hampton Inn), with fruit, eggs, bacon, yogurt, cereal, milk, bread, etc. Oddly, there were no pastries or anything else dessert-like. My only real complaint about the buffet was that they routinely ran out of a lot of things, regardless of the time we went to breakfast. The only negative of the whole experience was the bathroom itself. It was clean, but it was more beat up and not as new or nice as the rest of the room. I would not have cared much about that, but the bigger problem is that rather than a curtain or full door for the tub/shower, there was a swinging door that only covered a little more than half of the tub. The first time I showered, the door was not in the perfect position, so the floor was filled with water when I got back. I also don't like showering when half the tub is wide open. This used to be my favorite place to stay when I was in Pittsburgh on business. First, I do not like that Hilton has changed their policy to a $10 credit for breakfast instead of free. I am a diamond member and I should not have to pay for breakfast. Besides, the breakfast buffet has taken a downturn. Eggs are like rubber!! I am supposed to get a $10 credit each morning, I did not get the credit. Once my corporate card is billed, I cannot fix a billing issue. Next, every night I would get disconnected from my internet every few minutes. Then I would wake up in the middle of the night very hot, the AC turned off due to what must be a motion detector!! There is Marriott property two blocks away. I guess I will be changing hotels on my next visit in June.

At 3 a.m., I walked down from the 7th floor to the lobby on the first floor in my pajamas and slippers, carrying important items. 😦 It is worth mentioning that the Reading Market next to the hotel is convenient and a paradise for foodies

We’re so glad we found a comfortable and friendly hotel in Philly when visiting our kids who attend a nearby college. Our last stay was fantastic, thanks to hotel manager Nicole and her excellent team, who really made us feel at home. Our room was perfect and it was so nice that they were able to accommodate our request for a certain floor and view. We were even welcomed back with a handwritten note in our room. We are most likely forgetting some of the wonderful team members here, but Montrose, Alesha, Sheyenne, and Daoud were really helpful and very friendly at the front desk and concierge desk. Also great were Jackie, Teresa, and others in the club lounge. Service in the club lounge was excellent, even when things got busy, and the food was good, too, with a number of options to choose from. Between the friendly staff, personal attention, and proximity to both university city and center city, we know we will be back!

The location of the hotel is perfect if you have a car and don’t want to worry about parking. Parking does cost $14 a day however. It’s conveniently located next to a Target and their is a supermarket about a 5 min drive away. The gym facilities were very nice. If you want to use the pool you have to reserve an hour time slot. There’s no complimentary breakfast but there were granola bars to grab as snacks. Overall I enjoyed my stay

We met our kids there for the Elton John concert at PNC Park . I booked a year in advance at Cambria Downtown thinking it was close but far enough away fro immediate crowds. I’ll address the negatives immediately, but continue reading because it has a good end. Thank you I usually choose a hotel that has an indoor heated pool , a hot tub is a bonus , Cambria had both! Next is as mentioned above , location , close but not in the thick of things, Parking availability is important so our car can be left at hotel without concern, again Cambria met my criteria , things are good so far . Now , Upon arrival to Hotel there was much construction building and road so getting there was confusing , once we pull on to the Drop off area , their parking lot was closed and being maintained, we were instructed to use the parking lot up the road and tell the attendant that we were hotel guests , well that didn’t matter at all it was still 6.50 to park , the attendant was only there til 3 , so the parking lot was ‘open air ‘ no security, no responsibility on their behalf. Next we try to get checked in … cannot til 4 , no exceptions , so we hung around the lobby , bar was not open so no food or beverage available. We check out where the pool is see the hot tub , things look alright , 4 o’clock comes we check in get settled decide to go for a swim , the pool was freezing ( not even 70 degree) and the whirlpool/ hot tub had not been working for about two weeks. YES WE UNDERSTAND things happen beyond our control , but our expectations had been crushed and would have never happened if these issues were mentioned on the Hotel Site or the Booking sites , plus I’m signed up for text and emails , but no mention of the construction, the parking, or hot tub malfunction. Just communicated to us prior to our visit . Now transportation becomes an issue because we are no longer in a designated Hotel parking area. Cabs are not readily available as you may think, the Hotel stated it offered shuttle service within a 3mile radius , turns out that there’s only ONE GUY who doesn’t come on til 1-2 O’clock in the afternoon. NOW for the GOOD STUFF. The immediate folks that we interacted with couldn’t have been nicer and more accommodating! JOHN the one shuttle driver was SUPER NICE , SO POLITE, communication was key , JOHN was WONDERFUL! He was a key part to turning our stay around to be greater than expected . Also OSCAR was head of food and beverage , he too was very accommodating offered to drive us around in between all his other duties, and Fun! A great sense of humor . Than there’s DEB the manager she was so helpful , she apologized for our inconvenience ( which wasn’t necessary) she had and employee turn up the heat in the pool since the hot tub was not working . She went above and beyond to try to make things right , and they weren’t really wrong , there was just need for better communication, in regard to the websites so that people could be informed of what was happeni

You can cook, there are many supermarkets and restaurants around, and it's quite quiet at night

This is a pretty decent hotel. It is much better than the Hilton Garden Inn we previously stayed in down the street. We initially reserved a studio with 2 queen beds, but got upgraded to a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom suite. My kids were beyond excited because they got their own room, TV and bathroom. My husband appreciated the private bath and corner view with plenty of windows. It was VERY spacious. Our room was listed as having a king bed, but it seemed more like a queen. The pillows and mattresses were not very comfortable, which was disappointing. The bathrooms were clean. The bedrooms were fine, but a bit dusty. The kitchen/living areas were not as clean. The sofa was pilled up and had blonde hairs on it. The kitchen cabinets, stove, table, chairs and fridge had smudges and fingerprints on them, which I found a bit gross. Although there was a full kitchen, there weren't any cleaning supplies aside from a meager roll of cheap paper towels. No dish detergent. No disinfectant spray. Luckily, we didn't really need to use the kitchen. At one point, we used 2 forks and a bowl, so I called the front desk for some detergent and they brought me dishwasher pods which we didn't use. I bought Clorox wipes at the CVS down the street to clean up and left the bowl and forks rinsed off in the sink for housekeeping to wash. Despite these shortcomings, we will most likely stay here again. We'll just be better prepared. Also, be aware that the parking is first come, first serve. We parked and walked to our destinations, which was very easy since the hotel is right on Forbes Ave.

Front desk staff were very polite and professional. The entire property is very clean. The lobby was an inviting place to sit with a two-sided gas fireplace. The guest room was large and the bedding and pillows were comfortable. Nice size walk-in shower. Close to the airport with a view of planes flying over, but it's still a quiet location. Some restaurants within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again.

In a moderately priced hotel, the bed is not made and cleaned every day. If you want new towels or sanitary products the next day, you can ask the front desk and they will be delivered in time. The room is big enough, the sound insulation is not good, the advantage is that it is close to Pittsburgh. There are discounts for accommodation and breakfast, but there is no breakfast at the nearby Starbucks. If there is not enough parking space at the entrance, you can park in the opposite parking lot, and the hotel will pay for it for you. All in all it was good, no inconvenience.

We asked for city view and our room was on the 20th floor. Gorgeous view! The room was clean, everything we needed was provided at a reasonable price. The pool on the 4th floor with a view of the iconic yellow bridge was fantastic. Every staff member we spoke with was friendly and helpful, with great pointers for restaurants. The next time we go to Pittsburgh we will be staying here again.

My wife, adult son, and I booked a week at this hotel. We chose this hotel based on the location for events we were to attend in the strip area. We booked a king with a fold out sofa and the room had enough room for the 3 of us. The check in is one flight up from street level which is something we are not used to. We figured it out and it wasn't a problem after that. Upon check in we were informed we were allowed one maid service for the week. We picked Saturday thinking this would work as it was half way through our stay but the front desk person informed us they don't do maid service on the week end (not true because we saw cleaning staff working on the week end cleaning rooms). We picked Friday and upon returning on Friday found that the room was not serviced. We pilled our used towels in the corner of the bathroom thinking we would have fresh with the maid service. My wife had to go down to the front desk and to secure fresh towels. We had one soap bar and two small bottles of shampoo for the week. We were able to secure more from one of the maid carts in the hall with the maids approval. Our bathroom shower had a half glass partition with the other half open. The shower leaked significantly and we had to mop up the water every time we showered from the floor so we wouldn't fall. The hotel advertises valet parking. Not true. We could tell the covered garage was set up for valet parking as they could park cars end to end but when they did away with the valet they lost at least half of their covered parking spots. The upper level is accessed from the back alley with a very tight turning radius. Really tight. There is an uncovered overflow lot across the street but unloading in a rain storm sucks. We were charged $19 per day plus tax for the parking. The Steelers were in town that Sunday so the hotel was pretty crowded for the weekend (breakfast and parking). Breakfast was included with our stay and consisted of frozen eggs, potatoes, and sausage every day which was heated in the oven and brought out in large pans. The eggs were like rubber, the potatoes bland, but the sausage was ok. There are muffins, bagels, fruits, and oatmeal in a big pot. My friend who was staying here also in a separate room said the oatmeal tasted like paste. She said her shower also leaked. We were awakened at 4:20 a.m. on Wednesday of our stay by the fire alarm. We were told to vacate the hotel asap. Scary to say the least but it was just heavy smoke from a room the floor below us from a pot of food left on the stover overnight. I commend the hotel for having this alarm system and evacuation plan in place. The next morning we were awakened at 0700 by jack hammers outside on the street below. Really, 0700? Not much of a view either. The hotel has a lot of things going for it...great location, friendly and helpful staff, clean public areas...but needs improve a number of areas and not cut corners at the expense of their guest.

The environment is good, but the breakfast is not very good, I hope to be more tricks, the service staff is very good, next time if you come to Pittsburgh, I hope to stay at this hotel.
