We had a charmy and relaxing stay in Pingyao. The hotel offers an experience of the past, with the comfort of a modern structure. The staff was super kind and helpful, including free pick up from and drop off to the high speed train station.

Very close to the Causeway Bay parking lot, the left lane of the store is the Ninghuafu Vinegar Industry Head Office, not far from the east is Liuxiang, Food Street, Zhonglou Street Snack Street, very good experience! This was a great place to stay for our 3 nights in Datong. It's like condo rooms in a high rise. We had a huge room, all very clean and new. There was a view towards the light show at Datong city walls. The host was very friendly, she taught me how to get the bus to the Yungang Grottoes. Cross the main road outside and take bus no.17 to the end of the line at a station. From there bus no 3 will take you to the entrance of Yungang Grottoes, it is easy and super cheap. There was no English spoken here, but the translation app covers that problem. Great value for money, we highly recommend this place.

Over all, the area is great, near a few main bus stops, lots of places to eat with ing a few minutes to 15 minutes walk. For the price it was well worth it. There’s one couch on the third floor but not much social area and the floor where my room was, was very dark.

A gorgeous accomodation which looks like a museum itself. The hosts are very friendly and extremely helpful. They respond to inquiries within minutes and guided us well through Pingyao. As cars aren't allowed to pass the gate to the ancient town, it was very convenient that they offered us a transport from the North gate to the accomodation for no extra charge! Our room was spacious, the beds were comfortable and there is an extremely nice outside area where one can try out the different vinegars and spirits produced by the hosts.

I was greeted with a fruit platter during check-in, which was a wonderful welcome gesture considering I left my home about 24 hours earlier, traveling non-stop from California to Datong, China. The Inn provides a wonderful experience for the first-time foreign visitor. The interior decor has that Chinese charm consisting of artwork, a book display, an aquarium with an auspicious collection of 8 large fishes (carp, I think), in-room tea set with an on-table electric stove, which would be unique to most Westerners. The glass flooring adds an extraordinary appeal since I have never experienced that in a hotel before, and I have traveled to dozens of countries. The Inn is well located, a short bus ride to Datong Railway Station (for non-high-speed rail travel)*, and a short taxi ride to Datong South Railway Station (for high-speed rail travel)**. It is just next to Datong City Wall. You can walk along the top of the City Wall at no cost. A 10-20 minute walk takes you to nearly all the attractions within the ancient City Wall. Here you will also find a variety of restaurants serving local food as well as souvenir shops. There is also a small shop that sells sundry items including drinks (beer included) within a 5-minute walk from the Inn. Across from this sundry shop, is a shop that specializes in ancient Chinese clothing (Hanfu dress). They can dress you up, cosmetics included. The Inn provides directions to Yujian Yun Gang - a popular destination for travelers to Datong. Here you will see ancient Buddhist cave art, including large and tall (several stories tall) sculptures. It takes two bus rides to get there, 1RMB per ride. My booking choice was for either a guest room on the 1st or 2nd floor but was assigned a wonderful 2nd-floor guest room. The owners of the Inn were exceptionally friendly. I met both the mother and her daughter. My room was professionally cleaned and provided with drinking bottled water daily. If I return to Datong in the future, I will certainly book a room at this Inn. *I took a train from this station to travel south to Xinzhou after checking out. **I arrived in Datong from Beijing Daxing International Airport

Receptionist were helpful and patient even they do not speak English at all. They allowed us to late check-out in which we are grateful for. We stay during winter, so hot soup during cold weather is the best. This is worth the price for 3* hotel!

I love this B&B so much, I stayed there for almost two weeks. On the north street of the ancient city, food, clothing, housing and transportation are all convenient.
