A very mixed bag! On the one hand everything is new and clean and the location is absolutely amazing. Staff are welcoming and friendly. That’s the good bits.
The bad part is nothing was really explained to me about the facilities there- for example the wristbands and how they’re used to purchase things. They’re loaded with “credit” which I mistakenly thought was credit to purchase tea and coffee but you do have to pay for them. The machine didn’t work and I was charged for about five drinks I never had but I was in a rush checking out so had to leave it. I also wasn’t told about how to get to the hot tub on the roof so sadly I never got to use that.
The bedding was stained when I got there, weirdly the staff member told me they weren’t “allowed” to change the sheets so I was given some clean sheets and had to battle changing the bed in a tiny space- not ideal. The one hairdryer in the bathrooms also didn’t work fully so that’s why the services rating is low.
Hotel Muli provides a clean, modern, and welcoming stay that stands out for its exceptional service and quality amenities. Based on a two-night stay, this hotel is a superb option for travelers prioritizing comfort and value slightly outside the immediate city center.
Highlights & Service
The staff's attention to detail was a defining feature. Following an advance notification, the hotel upgraded our room and decorated it with ”Happy Birthday” balloons and a complimentary bottle of non-alcoholic fizz—an incredibly generous and much-appreciated gesture that demonstrated top-tier customer care.
Comfort and Amenities
The rooms are consistently clean and modern. A practical benefit is the availability of free tea, coffee, and hot chocolate in the reception area, which is perfect for warming up after a day of exploring Iceland.
Food Experience
The breakfast is superb. It offers high-quality ingredients, great variety, and is clearly set up to cater to all dietary needs, complemented by genuinely great coffee.
Location and Verdict
The location is ideal—it’s friendly staff are helpful, and it’s not too far to walk to the main town area, balancing accessibility with a slightly quieter setting. We would definitely choose to stay here again. Even saw whales in the bay, amazing!
Conveniently located at the entrance to Reykjavik.
Second-floor room with no elevator.
The room was spacious and had a bathtub, making this the only place we stayed after seven nights in Iceland.
Even luxury hotels didn't have bathtubs.
My husband was delighted with his first bath after driving about 2,000 kilometers.
The bathroom and washroom had poor drainage, so water overflowed from somewhere and flooded the entire place.
The room wasn't particularly clean, but
it's a good option as a hotel to stay before entering (or leaving) Reykjavik.
There are restaurants nearby, like KFC and Sabue.
There was no hair dryer in the room, but I think you could borrow one from the front desk if you needed one.
We realized this in the morning and had to go down to the front desk to borrow one.
Breakfast was minimal.
No hot meals.
Also, the serving area was small and crowded.
Nothing particularly noteworthy, but overall it was an average hotel.
By average, I don't mean badly; it wasn't the best, but it was passable.
I hope this review is helpful.
friendly staff, the sauna and hot tub were clean and nice。。。。our room was perfect, but if you are picky with drinking water, bring your own to the room。the water from the tab is drinkable, but has a lot of sulfur in it and smells this way。
the breakfast was very good, different coffee, waffles, bread, porridge, fruits,。。。。
We were really happy with our stay at this hotel.
The room size and the beds comfortable. The location was quiet and was perfect for us to walk around the main areas. Location was also great for the buses.
Breakfast was fantastic.
Would definitely stay here again.
The location is really good, with a bus stop nearby. Accommodations in Iceland are generally quite small, but thankfully, this one was clean and tidy. It's also quite close to attractions in Reykjavik. You can store your luggage, the front desk service was polite, and breakfast was Western style.

All good. Service level excellent. Perhaps just need to have more amenities like vanity kit, essential items like bathroom slippers in the room rather than we request for it at the front desk. Otherwise all good.
The hotel is 5 minutes walk to the pier and the clerk is kind. Although there is no parking lot, the hotel has a paid parking space. There is a free parking space for ten minutes on foot, but you have to check with the clerk. Breakfast is simple, the location is not much, but just right, no need to wait. Children in the same bed, no extra charge.
I liked the hotel in price/quality ratio. Beautiful view from the window , good breakfast, welcome administrator , which helped handle parking in the middle of the night
Excellently located near downtown Reykjavik and the harbor. The rooms are as pictured, very clean, and the staff are friendly and efficient. Perhaps they could increase the breakfast selection and add one of those machines that allow you to select various types of hot drinks.

Very Good
GGuest UserKEX Hostel in Reykjavík is a great place to stay, especially for budget travelers and friends exploring the city together. The location is excellent, right in the city center and close to the seaside, making it easy to walk to major attractions, restaurants, and shops. The hostel has a unique, social atmosphere with a lively common area and bar, which is perfect for meeting other travelers. Rooms and facilities are generally clean and functional, though they can feel a bit basic and sometimes noisy due to the hostel’s popular and central setting. A special highlight of your stay is being able to see the northern lights from outside the hostel, which is a memorable experience and shows how good the location is near the waterfront. Overall, KEX offers good value, a fun vibe, and a prime location for enjoying Reykjavík.
GGuest UserI visited in the summer, but I noticed a very large set of radiators on the wall that weren't turned on, suggesting it would be warm enough in winter. The hotel is very clean, and the decor is really nice. Having traveled to several European countries, I found the hotel's price to be very reasonable, and the room quality was excellent.

DDavidWe are here as tourist. The hotel is not at downtown. We took bus to travel around. The bus system is convenient. Though the hotel belongs to a high class hotel group but the room quite basic. No amenities are provided. Not much eateries or shops are around the area. Hence we took bus to those places. The hotel lobby is nice.
GGuest UserLocation was right in the centre of town, in front of a popular taxi stand where many party-goers gather before heading home, so it gets REALLY noisy on friday/saturday nights. I usually fall asleep easily but the noise was keeping me up. Bring earplugs if you intend to stay here. Otherwise the location was really accessible, walking distance to bus stop 1 where the flybus from the airport would drop off, and many tours pick you up from there as well. Sunday night was actually pretty peaceful so maybe just stay there on sundays-thursdays. Room was also decent and clean. A bit small for longer stays but good for a couple of nights.
ZZaynetzyTo my surprise, the time to access the locker is only from 9am onwards!!! (only when the staff is at the reception).
My plan was to put my luggage into the locker and I have to catch a morning bus at 7am the next day!! Next time please design the lockers in a way such that it is accessible 24/7 😅😅
Anyways, I still figured out a way - which is to walk to the bus terminal to leave my luggage at the lockers. Attaching a photo of the daylight at 12am 😊
DDaniel CurtisI loved this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it! One of the outstanding features is that they give you a cell phone to use during your stay. The phone already has helpful apps installed for taxis, restaurants, etc. We are from the US so did not have international cell service so having this phone with us was helpful, especially for using maps. Reykjavik is a walkable city, and the hotel is located on the most popular street, so it has easy access to everything. The staff was very helpful and there is also a bar/restaurant onsite with amazing cocktails. There is an included breakfast buffet which featured hot and cold items. We had a room on the 4th floor that included access to large patio. We loved this feature as we could wake up and go outside to check the weather and enjoy the views of the mountains and water in the distance. The hotel was also extremely clean. Another nice touch was that they knew we were celebrating our wedding anniversary so when we entered our room, we found a bottle of wine, chocolate and romantic decorations!
SSteph__Great location we were in the Artisan building which was a few minutes from bus stop 6. The apartment was very clean. Easy access to the apartment without having to formally check in as the door key is held on your mobile device. We had a junior suite which was perfect for our family of 4. However the sofa bed was so uncomfortable. The springs had gone and when 2 people are sharing the bed you end up rolling into the middle. Another 2 pillows for the sofa bed would have been welcomed. Having said that the apartment was clean, the bathroom was of a good size and stocked with L'Occitane toiletries. The shower was perfect. With Iceland being so expensive, the milk, orange juice and cornflakes were perfect for breakfast. We were pleasantly surprised when the milk and orange juice was topped up throughout our stay. If the sofa bed was not so worn we would give this apartment 10/10.
