5-Star Hotels in Central Province, Sri Lanka

This hotel is one of the best in the area, and they even offer breakfast and dinner, which we unfortunately didn't know about beforehand. The breakfast was plentiful, the mountain views were stunning, and it's not far from Kandy. Overall, a very comfortable stay.

This mountain hotel was the priciest of our entire trip, with a single room costing almost 5,000. It's nestled in the mountains, so getting there was a bit of a trek. I was hoping to spot some monkeys, but we didn't see any this time. The hotel's service and dining, however, were absolutely impeccable, truly top-notch. The ingredients and presentation were meticulously handled. The overall design also showcases a strong concept, built into the mountainside, creating a unique mountain resort atmosphere. That said, the room facilities were noticeably dated, with a distinct 80s or 90s feel. While some might appreciate this retro vibe, I personally prefer a more updated and modern hotel experience. Overall, it definitely has a strong design aesthetic and a unique ambiance. However, in terms of overall comfort and experience, it falls a bit short compared to the Lighthouse Hotel by the same designer. Especially considering the challenging journey up the mountain and the price, the final experience didn't quite meet my initial expectations.

The room looked clean and big, but it smelled very bad, and the air conditioner was very powerful! The buffet at our own expense was really great, and the price was not expensive. The food was better than in China!

Room is spacious, have all amenities and toiletries (just missing the slippers). It have heater instead of air conditioner as there is mostly cold here. Centralized control system is a plus. Washroom is comparatively much smaller and just the basic size. Cons: The main thing was the management which was poor and mostly looked after only locals as we came to know by our driver. At check in the room key didn't worked 3 time and they have to call some technical guy to resolve the issue which was actually the issue in room door, still they gave us the same room. When we go to food court for breakfast in morning, it was only 4 set items only which also they decide they want to give or not. For every request it was a no even when we are willing to pay extra for the same. For the meal we had we asked extra sambhar they deny they can't give. We asked for sandwich or any breads which was also unavailable. But after sometime, they give sandwich to some other persons. When we confronted them, they told it is in different meal, we asked to give only sandwich they outright denied, when we said give meal they say come after 11. After complaining and telling at the reception his response was mostly defending and at last only told you can discuss with senior manager. It was our time to leave the city as per our itinerary so we left the place as it is.

The hotel is tucked behind some commercial buildings, but once the gates open and you move up the driveway, it all fades away. The hotel is elegant with an attention to details. Each space is carefully arranged to make you feel comfortable.  The staff are what really makes Taru Villa shine. Led by the hotel manager, the staff are welcoming and warm. You couldn’t ask for anything more. The food was excellent. The conversation was even better. We highly recommend to anyone. Well done Taru Villa, well done!

Please come to Sri Lanka to stay for one night! You will be touched by their sincere warmth and heartfelt kindness! Everything is unforgettable from the beginning of the stay! I have been to Sri Lanka twice, this hotel really likes it very much! Exquisite warmth! Too many details, really recommended! ! ! I am still very touched in retrospect. On that drizzly morning, all employees waved goodbye to you. The warm current and touch flowed in my heart, like a dream! nice staffs, nice staying, unforgettable memory!!!

The old five-star hotel is located on the Mahaweli River, the mother river of Sri Lanka. It is a must-have hotel for Kandy people to get married. The British service standard is very good. Compared with other Sri Lankan hotels, the check-in and check-out are very fast. The software service makes up for the old facilities deficiencies, it is recommended

Honestly, it's a pretty standard hotel, but I really liked it because it was comfortable. The hotel was clean, and the balcony overlooked Kandy Lake, offering picturesque views. The rooftop bar had a great promotion on beer, which was a nice bonus! The hotel's location is super convenient, close to everything. Plus, while there aren't many elegant and pleasant neighborhoods in Sri Lanka, this one definitely is!

The hotel is exceptionally clean, and the room size is suitable for three guests. The overall atmosphere is very pleasant, with a welcoming ambiance throughout the property. The staff are friendly, professional, and highly attentive. The rooftop pool offers a wonderful setting with a great view, and the food is excellent—particularly the dinner served at the rooftop restaurant. Overall, the hotel offers very good value for money considering the quality of service and facilities.
