Very Good

SSoon KYOverall, the stay was good. The hotel has a great location and the rooms are spacious. The room decor is a bit dated, but the Wi-Fi was excellent.
The hotel has an ice rink, which is a good option if you want to learn to ice skate.
The breakfast was ordinary and nothing special.
GGuest UserOn the day I checked in, I came back at night to find my room had been cleaned and all my belongings were gone. When I asked at the front desk, they said it might have been a system error and they thought the previous guest had checked out, so they sent someone to clean it.
1. A five-star hotel claims they have a system issue.
2. The cleaning staff clearly saw it was an occupied room, yet they directly took our things without even asking.
3. They just left our belongings in the concierge public area downstairs, claiming there's CCTV so nothing would go missing.
4. They said it was all sorted, but when I got back to the room, my key card wouldn't work. I had to go back down again. It was already midnight, and I was dragging my luggage up and down.
5. During checkout, they tried to charge a foreign fee, but I'm Malaysian. I really don't understand how their system records things.
I was looking forward to a pleasant stay at a five-star hotel, but this happened on the very first night. The management and front desk really need to improve. Although I did get a free breakfast in the end, I've stayed in at least 20-30 hotels, and this is the first time I've encountered something like this. Even 3 or 4-star hotels are better.
Really a very bad experience here.
EEissa ShamiyehOur family really enjoyed our stay at Sunway Resort Hotel. The location is absolutely fantastic, right next to Sunway Lagoon Water Park, which made getting to the rides and slides easy and fun for the kids. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with beautiful views of either the lake or the park, and the beds are incredibly comfy. The hotel also offers a variety of dining options across its numerous restaurants, and the room service was quick and friendly. Housekeeping was excellent and done daily, and the public facilities were clean and family-friendly.
This hotel is an ideal choice for families looking for a mix of comfort and entertainment. The service was professional and friendly, and the staff were always ready to help. We will definitely be back on our next visit to Kuala Lumpur. I highly recommend it for anyone wanting a pleasant and comfortable stay with their children.
MMarsDewThe room is a bit dusty. There is a sofa bed in the room but it is not set up by default. If you need an extra bed, there is an additional charge of RM98. The hotel will then prepare the sofa bed and provide extra bed sheets, pillows, blanket, towels and toothbrush. The RM98 charge also includes breakfast for one person
KKL_TanClean and new facilities with good service and helpful staff. Enjoyed my stay and would return to this hotel again if in this Shah Alam area.
There is a big mall next to the hotel and a recreational park with water slides and go kart across the hotel
Good for family with kids and teens too
JJayceHOur room was good (though the bed side was spotted with a used bandage on the ground and under the bed were visibly dirty and dusty when we were looking for a missing sock), otherwise the food and service at Charcoal restaurant were great! But when it came to the pool area, that was a different story. There were hardly any sunbeds, super few. When we asked where we could put our stuff, they basically shrugged. Naturally, we were pretty annoyed and very unhappy – did they seriously expect guests to just dump our belongings on the floor if there weren't even any seats or tables provided? We asked for just a chair, whatever at that point, to just leave our belongings. Still no action. We asked the manager. Waited 10-15 mins then luckily a couple stood up and left, finally some place to leave out things. When the manager showed up I told him how dissatisfied we were, and he said he'd pass it on to management. But guess what, the very next morning, we went back, and it was the exact same situation. All the sunbeds were taken, and nowhere to put our bags. Nothing changed. For a 5-star hotel, you'd think they'd sort something out when guests are left with no options. But nope, nothing was done then, no effort at all to even help find a chair. Plus, that place itself could easily fit another 15-20 sunbeds, spaciously. We didn't understand the reluctants of being stingy on providing enough seating for hotel guests.
AAnonymous UserThe pool was definitely the highlight of the trip for my toddler. We really enjoyed our stay and it’s just a stone throw away to IOI mall! Definitely recommended for families.
MMd AshariWe’ve stayed here few times and every time it’s not a disappointment. Love the hotel rooms, breakfast spread the amenities, shopping and the convenience of having everything under one roof. The journey from airport to hotel and vise verse wasn’t that long. Took about ~40mins with good traffic. The grab price still manageable. The breakfast was immaculate. The rooms is spacious and the stuffs are helpfull. All in all LOVING IT.
GGuest UserPros:
The room comes with a balcony, great for enjoying the views and taking sunset photos.
There's a garden downstairs for walks, and the air is very fresh.
Toothbrushes, toothpaste, and bottled water are provided, and the cleaning staff are very efficient.
The hallway is relatively quiet, and the service is excellent.
There's a golf course, perfect for those who enjoy playing to pass the time.
Cons:
The overall room decor is a bit dated.
There's no overhead light; lighting relies solely on floor lamps and bedside lamps.
It feels a bit like an older 4-5 star hotel in China.
The shower is in a bathtub, which can be slippery.
Upon check-in, they requested a 250 MYR deposit plus a 'tourism tax' of 7 MYR per night.
I've stayed in many hotels in Malaysia, and this is the first time I've been asked for a deposit and this particular tax.
Tips:
Bring your own slippers.
The central air conditioning is very strong, so you might want to bring a long-sleeved pajama top.
The front desk informed me that check-out takes 15 minutes (first time I've encountered such a long wait; I was a bit emotional during the interaction, but it ended up being processed in less than 5 minutes. Still, I recommend allocating sufficient time).
I wouldn't specifically book this hotel again unless it was for convenience to UKM.
