4-Star Hotels in Sao Paulo State, Brazil

I stayed at Wyndham São Paulo Ibirapuera Convention Plaza Hotel twice during my trip (April 3–8 and April 10–11), and overall, this was a very mixed experience. I’m an international traveller so I would say I have my fair share of seeing all sides to a hotel. To be a 4 star hotel and to charge premium rates, I would expect certain things. Let’s start with the positive to the hotel - The location is excellent. From the hotel across there is a shopping mall, which makes it extremely convenient for food, shopping, and daily necessities. • Cleanliness is generally acceptable. Aside from one incident, (on my first night, I found red stain marks which looks like lipstick on my sheets, took a photo and alerted receptionist the next morning for a change of sheets. • Room size is spacious and comfortable. I stayed in the “ superior room” and the junior suite. The issues (and they are significant): 1. Misleading room expectations The room I received looked noticeably older and more worn than the photos online. Doors, bathroom condition, and overall finishing did not match what was advertised. It felt misleading. This hotel definitely need a glow up. 2. Poor service & lack of flexibility Service was the biggest disappointment. • Staff were generally not proactive or solution-oriented. • I made a booking error via Trip.com and tried to adjust the dates. Both the platform and hotel refused to help or offer alternatives. • Even a simple late check-out request (which I informed them about in advance and was willing to pay for) was declined without much effort to accommodate. I wasn’t also asking for hours just a mere 2 hours so that I can go to the city to pick up some stuff before my long haul 32hours flight. 4. Billing inconsistencies – check your charges carefully • I was initially charged for 2 minibar items when I only consumed 1. I manage to catch this on time before paying for it. • Laundry count was incorrect (11 pieces sent, billed for 12). Receipts and explanations were unclear, and I’m still not fully confident everything was billed correctly. 5. Missing basic amenities (unexpected for this level) • No iron or ironing board available • No kettle / hot water in the room • No complimentary drinking water • Everything must be purchased separately 6. Language barrier for international guests Not all staff speak English, which can make communication difficult if you’re not Portuguese-speaking. Overall verdict: This hotel is convenient but not service-oriented. If you are Brazilian or familiar with local expectations, you may find it acceptable. But as an international traveler, the experience falls short—especially in service, transparency, and attention to detail. Would I return? Probably not, unless location is the only priority.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hyatt Place São José do Rio Preto, and the experience was truly outstanding. The hotel's location is unbeatable, situated adjacent to the Iguatemi São José do Rio Preto shopping mall, providing easy access to a variety of shops and dining options. The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and equipped with modern amenities. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The air conditioning system worked flawlessly, which was essential given the warm climate. Breakfast each morning was a delightful experience, offering a diverse selection of fresh fruits, pastries, and local specialties. The staff were consistently friendly and attentive, making me feel welcomed throughout my stay. The hotel's facilities, including the rooftop swimming pool and fitness center, were well-maintained and provided excellent opportunities for relaxation and exercise. Additionally, the free on-site parking was a convenient perk. One minor drawback was that the parking area could become a bit crowded during peak hours, but this did not significantly impact my overall experience. In conclusion, Hyatt Place São José do Rio Preto offers exceptional comfort, top-notch amenities, and a prime location. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

Liked: • wonderful front desk personel , restaurant staff, waiters/waitresses, baggage handlers, super helpful! • excellent bed, shower, sheets, towels. • great breakfast buffet. Dislike: • the bathroom sink needs a better aerator on the faucet to control the flow so that it doesn’t spray outside of the sink. • the water in the pool didn’t seem to be constantly filtered. There were small debris and bugs on top.

The room was a decent size, not too big, not too small, and fairly clean, though it had a slight odor. The restaurant was quite large, and the breakfast offered a good variety, including some local specialties. While it doesn't quite meet a 4-star standard back home, overall, it's decent value for money.

This hotel has been stayed many times, the surrounding facilities are relatively complete, the nearby supermarket pharmacies are relatively close, next to the Carrefour supermarket can be simple shopping, recommended

I absolutely LOVED both the stay and the party at Onze. I confess that I was a little apprehensive due to some not-so-nice comments about the accommodations, but everything was perfect. The hotel decor is beautiful, we were very well looked after from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. The receptionists are very nice and attentive. The room is magnificent, very cozy, spacious beds, a large bathroom and a hot shower with strong water to relax. We spent New Year's Eve on the eleventh floor of the hotel itself: wonderful!! My congratulations to all the staff, I will definitely be back and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!

There is a pool but I didn't see anyone using it. Because there were trees around, the leaves and branches of the plant floated on the surface of the pool. If you don't have resistance, I recommend the pool.

Despite being an affordable hotel, it offers excellent conditions for a comfortable stay. The rooms are spacious, which is a big plus. On the third floor, there is a convenient gym with a swimming pool, making it easy to keep up with your routine. Most importantly, I would like to highlight the outstanding service provided by the staff. They are always ready to help with any request, and the reception desk operates 24/7. Special thanks to Klebisson, who supported me from the very first minute of arrival until the moment of departure. His assistance made the stay especially pleasant. If I may add one small suggestion — it would be great to have a wider variety of food available for breakfast 🙂 Another important advantage is the very convenient electronic door locks with a PIN code, so you don’t need to carry keys with you.

A reasonably priced hotel in a very central location, easy to reach with public services and Uber. The surrounding area is walkable and full of restaurants and services. The internal restaurant allows you to eat without even leaving the premises. My room provided a real working area. There is a small rooftop swimming pool, enough to relax.

The location is a high-end residential area. There's a large Carrefour on the street nearby, convenient for purchasing daily necessities. The hotel facilities are relatively old. But the overall cleanliness is very good; the toilet is new. Staff there is nice, able to communicate in english. The only thing I'm really unhappy about is the extremely poor Wi-Fi signal on 12 floor. There is connection issues, but he needs to log in to account to connect. However, it's internet speed would slow down after about 15 to 20 minutes, and it would have to turn the Wi-Fi off and on again each time to maintain high speed. The network I bought myself is even better then its wifi. As a 4-star hotel, the wifi service is totally not convenience to the online business work and communication, unable to do a online call stably.
