Stayed here for 6 nights. Basically, it was like being right in the middle of a happening town! Love that there's delicious halal food nearby, beside Apple store (Pinhuiwei Muslim Northwestern Chinese)! The Bund is nearby, Adidas flagstore is there, Starbucks everywhere. Love the vibe here! Will I stay here again? Yes I will but Shanghai has to be the 1st stop in China because there's no self service laundry here. The only con in this trip, or else, it would have been perfect! Then I'll followed by Xi An then Beijing, as those two cities have free laundry! My last two days was the start of their May Day! The number of people walking through Nanjing Street was crazy, shown in photo! But, it was very orderly so everyone had a good time here!

I cannot rave enough about this hotel. From start to finish everything about my stay here was incredible. Thank you Xiao Wu and Xiao Ting for making this stay great. Xiao Wu especially was lovely. He created a kind, warm, and professional first impression of the hotel. The room itself was unlike any I've ever stayed in which is why I chose it. Often pictures do not live up to the reality, but I feel like this room surpassed it. Another poster mentioned the costumes, which were indeed a cute touch. However, what stood out to me were the other small, but meaningful touches. There were bath salts near the bath which also had artificial rose petals and an eye steam mask on the sink. The bed was also strewn with petals without me having to especially request any of it. It really meant to the spa/romantic escape atmosphere. There was also a tub cover and toilet seat cover for sanitary use and floor towels for both the shower and the tub for safety. Five Senses: This room appealed to all of them. Touch: The bath towels themselves were the softest I've ever had at a hotel as was the robe. It wasn't the usual rough, abrasive texture. I don't know what they use differently their laundry, but it works!! The bed was also super comfortable Hearing: I don't know if it was because of the location of the room or the way the room is designed, but it was also the quietest stay I have ever had in a hotel. I didn't hear a peep from my neighbors. Even if I had, I could have used the thoughtfully included ear plugs. Smell: I'm not sure what the fragrance was, but the room smelled incredible. No smoke. No mildew. No bleach. Not overwhelming perfumed either. The scent was subtle but unmistakable and soothing. Sight: Aesthetically pleasing in every way. A serene retreat from the sun, the heat, the busyness, and the bleakness and sterility of the city. The the many textures appealed not only to the hands, but to the eyes. Taste: Water, tea (with real leaves and tea set), coffee, and soda are in the room. I was also offered some delicious cherry tomatoes to snack on when I checked in. I could continue, but I've gone on long enough!! 😅 TLDR; Well worth the time, money, and an extended stay. Wonderful staff. Clean, aesthetically pleasing room with many comforts and amenities. Would highly recommend and definitely visit again.

Great location, very convenient for getting around. The view from the hotel window was lovely. I booked two different room types for two nights. The 1.2m and 1.5m beds are perfect for families traveling with a baby, and it's also a great spot for coffee lovers.

The reception team was very friendly and professional, and the room was clean. However, the bathroom was not at the expected level, and there was a lot of noise coming from the neighboring rooms. The room was also very small. In addition, there was disturbing construction and maintenance noise coming from the nearby building. When I booked the hotel, its rating seemed excellent, but after staying there, I found it to be average rather than excellent.

The facilities, hygiene, and service are all excellent, and the accommodation is very good. Although it's a bit far, there's a very convenient complimentary shuttle bus to Pudong Airport's T1 and T2 terminals, running hourly. This makes it easy to arrange travel plans with a stopover at the terminals, so getting around becomes much more convenient. Plus, the hotel also offers a self-service breakfast. Overall, it's really good.

Located near the South Plaza, it's very close to both the train station and the subway. The room had a mini-fridge and plenty of drinking water. Breakfast was good, especially the freshly made noodles – the beef noodle soup had a generous amount of beef!

I booked this last minute for a business trip. All the Huazhu hotels were already priced at 700-800 RMB, but then I found this hotel apartment. At under 700 RMB, it was such a great deal! It's a one-bedroom, one-living room layout, offering excellent value for money and pure comfort. The bed was super comfy, not too soft, not too hard. The decor also felt quite new. While breakfast isn't included, there's a convenience store and a McDonald's downstairs, so getting breakfast is really easy. Plus, it's right next to several big malls like Century Link, making the whole area incredibly convenient. I'll definitely stay here again on my next business trip.

Absolutely loved this hotel. We arrived very early in the morning from our flight and as our room was ready, they allowed us to check in early with no extra charge. The room was cleaned every day with fresh towels provided. We even had a massage chair in the room which was unexpected. The shower was amazing, hot water and great pressure. The bed was comfortable. For the price and location, I’d highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is perfect for anyone catching an early morning flight. There's a dedicated walkway from the hotel directly to the terminal, and it's only a ten-minute walk. The hotel environment is also great; even though it's at the airport, it's very quiet at night, allowing for a good rest. The front desk staff was also incredibly thoughtful – they not only upgraded my room but also provided complimentary snacks and drinks. Thumbs up! 👍

KKlaudia PhamThe hotel is located very close to famous tourist destinations like The Bund & Yu Garden. There’s a mall right across the road with plenty of local restaurants. We booked 2 Queen-sized rooms for family of 3 adults & 3 children, and got 1 room free-upgraded to King-sized for more convinience. We were warmly welcomed by Lucas from FO - the only person can speak English we met during the whole trip to Shanghai. He managed to help us arrange the best room & offered reakfast for my 8-year-old kid. Delivery service is modern with the help of robot. It’s quite pity that when we arrived under heavy rain, there’s no bellman assisting us with luggages.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel has a minimalist Japanese style, with a clean and atmospheric environment. The staff are very friendly, warm, and thoughtful. They offer a complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport on the hour, which is super convenient for catching flights – a big plus! However, staying for four consecutive days, the breakfast selection was incredibly monotonous and never changed. It got really boring after a while. The late-night snack options were also very limited, with only noodles and congee available – far too few choices. Furthermore, during my stay, I noticed that the indoor air felt stuffy and poorly ventilated, always with a stale odor. My room was close to the road, so opening the window meant car noise, but closing it made the room stuffy and smelly, which significantly reduced my comfort. On a positive note, they thoughtfully gave me a small souvenir when I checked out, which was a lovely touch. Overall, the service and airport shuttle were good, but the stay would be much better if they could improve the breakfast variety, add more late-night snack options, enhance room ventilation and soundproofing, and eliminate the stale indoor smell.

GGuest UserI keep coming back to this hotel, not only because of its location. It is conveniently situated near Metro Line 1, as well as restaurants and convenience stores. But what truly makes this hotel special are the people who work there. In particular, I would like to thank Ms. Li Jing. She was always available, answered all my questions, and was incredibly helpful. You could really see and feel how much effort the staff put in to make sure guests are satisfied. I was very happy with my stay and would like to sincerely thank her and the entire hotel staff. Hopefully, I will be back again soon.

AAroundtheworldJuThe hotel is close to the subway and has a Lawson right outside, so it's convenient. I just didn't like the room I was put on, because it smelled a bit like cigarettes and I had asked for a smoke free room, because I'm allergic. And also, I had asked for quiet rooms and higher floor. I was placed on ground floor in the first room of the corridor, where everyone has to pass by. Other than that, it was great, the staff is very helpful

AAnonymous UserI want to give honest feedback here. The room I selected on the Trip.com app did not match what was available at the hotel when we checked in, which caused a frustrating mix-up at arrival. This is a clear issue with the app and booking system that needs to be addressed — what you see when booking should be what you get. However, I have to give full credit to the hotel staff and manager. They handled the situation with patience and professionalism, and worked hard to support us even though the problem started on the app's side. Their service was outstanding. The hotel itself is great — comfortable rooms, clean facilities, friendly team, and a wonderful location.

GGuest UserMy parents always talked about wanting to see the Bund when they visited Shanghai, so this time I specifically booked a hotel by the Bund, hoping they'd be comfortable. And I definitely chose right! From the lobby to the room, my parents kept praising how clean and bright everything was. The mattress was just right – not too soft, not too hard – so even with their back issues, they slept soundly. Although there wasn't a scenic view from the window, they could see parts of the old city streets, and my parents said they were very content with that. The most convenient part was breakfast: it offered both Chinese and Western options, with hot congee, soy milk, mini wontons, fried eggs, and even Shanghai's famous scallion oil noodles. My parents found it all very familiar and satisfying. In the evening, after dinner, we walked just two minutes to the Bund and arrived just in time for the lights to come on. My mom stood at the observation deck and took several photos to send to her old friends, as happy as a child. There's also a convenience store and a pharmacy right downstairs from the hotel, which is really helpful for older travelers. When we checked out, the front desk even gave us two Old Shanghai Snowflake Cream souvenirs. My parents said they definitely want to stay here again next time they visit.

DDingyuanyingI've stayed in many hotels for business trips and vacations, and most of them deserve five-star ratings, especially Mercure. This time, I came to Mercure Hongqiao Central with five-star expectations. Although there were fruit flies in the room and the shower drain smelled, I dealt with them myself and it didn't really affect my mood. That is, until I found out one of the elevators was broken. Waiting for the elevator felt like the morning rush hour in an office building during the week, and I even had to contend with the food delivery robots for space (the elevator still wasn't fixed after two days). Plus, I can't think of any high-rise hotel that only has two elevators. Additionally, I don't know if it's because my Ctrip membership level isn't high enough, but my request for a late checkout at 4 PM was told it would be charged. When I was a Huazhu Platinum member, it was never charged (in fact, there are only a few times a year I need to extend to 4 PM). They said I needed to re-activate my room card at the front desk after 12 PM, but after I had it swiped at the front desk, (and waited for the elevator for a long time) I still couldn't open the room door upstairs... My good impression was slowly worn away. Overall, this experience barely deserves three stars (I wouldn't have even remembered it if the hotel hadn't called afterward asking for a good review). Objectively, the view from the west-facing room was quite good. The golf course diagonally opposite was unobstructed, and there were no tall buildings opposite, so I wasn't afraid to leave the curtains open at night. I could also see planes taking off and landing at Hongqiao Airport. The location was also decent, with many dining options nearby, though it's quite far from the subway station.

ККонстантин ГладконогихA small, cozy hotel in the Jing'an District, on picturesque Julu Road. The hotel itself consists of two mansions built in the late 1920s by the Asian Petroleum Company, as you can read at the information board on the corner of Chang Shu Lu and Julu Roads. The hotel complex is located in a gated community, where the quiet of the park and the chirping of birds are so unusual in the heart of the vast city. The hotel reception is located in the mansion closest to the entrance, where we were warmly greeted and quickly checked in despite our limited English and complete lack of Chinese. We rented two rooms as there were three of us traveling, and my wife and I lived on the second floor in a fairly spacious room with two windows. There are some minor inconveniences, such as the steep steps on the narrow staircase, which might be a bit difficult for older people, but we had no discomfort, and the hotel staff helped us carry our suitcases. The room was equipped with a TV, refrigerator, desk, safe, and a very, very large bathroom with a window. There was both cold and very hot water, which was perfect, and of course, there was a hairdryer. Our bathroom didn't have a bathtub, but that wasn't a problem for us; the hotel offers a wide range of rooms to suit every taste. The rooms were cleaned and the linens and towels were changed regularly, and we didn't notice it at all. It was very quiet at night; we didn't hear anything, although I've read reviews that the hotel has good soundproofing, but we couldn't say that. Generally, staying at this hotel, you have a very strong sense of privacy, as if the entire mansion were yours, but in the morning, at breakfast, seeing your neighbors, you realize that's not the case. It's also a special pleasure to open the windows early in the morning and let in the sun, fresh air, and birdsong. The hotel is remarkable for its undeniable historical value. You immerse yourself in the unhurried silence of a measured existence amidst a small park with its living inhabitants, such as birds and squirrels, where nothing disturbs your peace, either in your room or beyond. You undoubtedly enjoy the history as you admire the magnificent staircases, old mirrors, and Art Nouveau hallways, as well as the manicured lawns and trees in the courtyard, where you can sip your morning coffee and enjoy the peace and sunshine. The hotel offers a small breakfast and excellent coffee. There are very decent restaurants in the neighboring buildings, and several coffee shops are within a three-minute walk, making it very convenient. The metro is a five-minute walk from the hotel, and when I called a taxi through the DIdi app, the drivers always arrived. And all this is surrounded by quiet, cozy historic streets shaded by old plane trees, a pleasant place to stroll at any time. There are many restaurants, including Mediterranean cuisine, bakeries, bars, and wine bars within walking distance. Nanjing Road is about a 10-minute taxi ride away, and the main attractions are easily reached on foot, so it's best to enjoy the surrounding beauty. I really regret not having visited Sun Yat-sen's residence, which is also within walking distance. All in all, if you love the spirit of good old Shanghai and appreciate peace and quiet amidst the vast modern metropolis, you should definitely check out this stunning hotel, which I'll definitely be eager to visit again!
