4-Star Hotels in Shanghai, China

Came here after visiting Legoland. Arrived quite late at night, but the service was excellent. The front desk staff were very friendly and proactively asked if we needed anything. They offer a breakfast buffet with a good variety of options. Parking is available in the building across the street, about a 5-minute walk, and the parking fee can be reimbursed.

The room was very clean with excellent natural light. Breakfast was incredibly rich and varied, and they even offered a free laundry room. When we left, we took advantage of the hotel's complimentary shuttle service to the station.

Room was clean and staff was helpful. Location is good, close proximity to pedestrian walking street and eateries. The only thing to improve is the breakfast, lack of variety and food is not hot.

The Mercure Shanghai Bund Yu Garden boasts an excellent location, within walking distance of Shanghai Old Street and Yu Garden. The service is warm and friendly, with particularly attentive staff. The facilities are comprehensive and comfortable, and the hotel is very clean. The breakfast offers a wide variety of options. I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip to Shanghai.

Happy stay! The hotel's location is fantastic. You can see the Oriental Pearl Tower clearly right from the main entrance. It's very close to The Bund and Nanjing East Road, and the Labubu flagship store is right outside. Even though it's near Nanjing East Road, it's surprisingly quiet. The hotel is new, and the facilities are excellent, especially the super comfortable bed. I'd call this the best value for money near The Bund!

Lin feng was a good receptionist. Untuk malaysian, bilik dia okay jee selesa. Cuma tandas takde bidet. Location dekat je dkt tmpt2 menarik. Boleh jalan kaki je. Bantal dia selesa. Overall puas hati. Jujur 4/5 sbb tkde bidet je. Yg lain best tiptop. Ada laundry ada gym ada lift. Superb 👌

Stayed for 7 days in the Family room in Dec 2025. Overall it was a comfortable stay although the hard product was old. Room was spacious with one king bed (good for 1 adult and 2 small sized kids) and a single rollaway bed (good for 1 adult). It came with a free mini bar (1 round) and we could get bottled water from housekeeping or from the hotel lobby. There was a stench in the toilet (suspected backflow of air from the sewer) which housekeeping attempted to solve by covering the drains using tissue paper. Hotel location was good, situated along the shopping street and subway. It is also within walking distance from the bund. Hotel service was relatively lacking. No attempt was made to assist me with my 4 big luggage at the lobby during arrival and departure. Would recommend the hotel for less fussy travellers who value convenience over services.

Five-star recommendation! I booked this place for my trip to Shanghai, and it's just a 3-minute walk to Hanzhong Road Metro Station. From Hanzhong Road to Shanghai Railway Station is an absolute godsend for lazy travelers – it's only one stop on Metro Line 1, a 7-minute ride, or about a 10-minute walk. The Bund and Yu Garden are also super convenient to get to. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and I slept really well. The front desk lady was super friendly too. The value for money is just off the charts, I'll definitely stay here again next time!

The service was exceptional, no complaints there. For this price, being so close to the airport, I'm really satisfied. There's even a shuttle bus to the airport, which is a huge bonus. This hotel is definitely well-managed, and the breakfast was also good. I'm very happy with my stay! There are places to eat nearby, and it offers incredible value for money. I almost forgot I was in Shanghai!

Yesterday, I stayed at the Novotel Shanghai Atlantis and specifically booked a room with a view of the Lujiazui 'Three-Piece Suit' (referring to the three iconic skyscrapers). The night view was absolutely stunning. The top floor also features a revolving restaurant, offering breathtaking panoramic views during breakfast – you can see Lujiazui, the North Bund, and Yangpu Bridge all at once. The scenery is truly unbeatable. Kelly at the front desk was warm and attentive, even preparing a small gift for my child. Manager Chu at the restaurant was also very welcoming and friendly. Overall, a really great stay!
