"This hotel was located just off the motorway, and fairly easy to find. Upon arrival/check in we were informed of our room number and given our key card, however no information was provided. ie (check out times, breakfast times, any of the bar/restaurant details, pool/fitness centre details. We had to go back and forth to reception through out to get the information we needed. Fortunately the staff were friendly and welcoming which made easy to approach them. Room was nice, bit cramped even for a king privilege room. Not much space to walk, too many unnecessary chairs. Room and bathroom was clean. Mini fridge was nicely stocked up with water and soft drinks for free. TV in the room was a smart tv, allowed us to watch Netflix via screen mirroring which was excellent. Bed was comfortable with multiple pillow options. Sockets and USB charging points on both sides of the room, great for charging multiple devices. Full length mirror and cupboard space to hang up clothes. Nice gown and slippers presented neatly on the bed. We did visit the pool facilities on multiple occasions during our stay. It was just a medium size. With a separate jacuzzi and steam room and sauna. Pool water was nice temperature, slightly warm which felt really nice. Lighting in the pool area was poor, quite dimly lit. Lockers in changing area needs a padlock, as we didn’t know we didn’t take out. Some chairs are available on the pool side which we were able to put out things. Dining room was nicely laid out with ample space to move around. Breakfast had multiple options including vegetarian options available on request. Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall a pleasant stay. Would recommend it."

"The hotel was good, and both the receptionist were so helpful and had a good sense of humour. They were always ready to help., The only downside was we missed on goring in the pool as the Ph levels were high on the day we wanted to use. The breakfast was fresh and very good too"

"I needed a hotel near the Telford International Centre and this was the closest based on cost.  The connected restaurant was really good and there were shops close by such as Asda Express, Burger King, Greggs and Subway at the petrol station next door.  The hotel provided complimentary tea and coffee and clean towels.  The only toiletries in the bathroom was shower cream/shampoo and hand wash.  If you need hair conditioner, bring your own.  Also, there were no tissues provided.  But the room itself was clean with extra pillows provided if needed.  The aircon was also a godsend in this current heatwave!"

"We visited Lion Quays on a midweek night away - I have wanted to try the hotel for a while. The receptionist was very friendly on arrival but warned us that the lift was broken that day. She offered help with our bags - which we declined. But we would have struggled if we had poor mobility as we were on the top floor. We were in room 312 with a view of the canal which was lovely. However there was a hole worn in the top cover on the bed - it didn't affect us but it looked bad. We noticed alot of the furniture in the hotel was worn - particularly in the dining room where the seats and arms were bald. We had a sandwich and a beer out on the patio before we visited the leisure club which we had been looking forward to. The steam room was out of order and closed and the light in the rustic sauna was not working although it was open. Since it was mid August - this was pretty disappointing. We didn't eat dinner in the hotel- instead going to Henlle Heights nearby for a fantastic Indian meal. We slept well in the room, the bed felt very soft but was really comfy. There was a fan provided but we didn't use it. The following morning we discovered the lift had been fixed. We really enjoyed breakfast, a fine selection of hot and cold options to help yourself and spent some time sitting out near the canal with our coffees which was super relaxing. We did like Lion Quays and we would return however there just seemed to be a few rough edges which came across as lack of care which was a real shame."

"We enjoyed our stay here, the Hotel rooms were spotless , tea & coffee plenty in the room , bed comfortable also, quite at night . The views are stunning, Breakfast was lovely & plenty along with excellent service, we will be staying again Thankyou"

"De locatie van de hotel is erg goed. Alles was ook schoon en de meeste basis faciliteiten zijn voorzien (zoals waterkoker, koffie en thee, föhn etc). Echter is de hotelkamer en service matig. Let op dat er geen airco is, dus bij een hittegolf kan het behoorlijk warm zijn. Er is wel een ventilator en dat was net voldoende voor mij omdat het gelukkig nog niet zo warm is. Tevens zijn er veel (krappe) trappen, dus houd daar ook rekening mee als je veel bagage hebt of niet zo makkelijk de trap kan nemen.  Er is niet echt een bagage opslag. Bij aankomst is ontvangst matig (vergeleken met andere hotels). Er wordt alleen verteld dat check in 15 uur is. Dat weet ik, maar ik heb veel bagage bij me. Ik zal verwachten op een welkom en een simpele vraag of ik een goede reis heb gehad. Ik moest ook zelf vragen ernaar of ik mijn bagage kan achterlaten. Voor een nachtje is het prima, maar de prijs is net zo duur als een luxere hotel in London waar je wel betere service krijgt. "

"Excellent stay. Made to feel very welcome. Enjoyed the picnic basket breakfasts and dinner the restaurant. I will definitely stay here again!"

"Overall wasnt a great stay, ill keep it short and sweet and list positives and negatives rather than go into detail Positives - All staff friendly and helpful, nice location, if you can book a deluxe room so you get a first floor room with outside table and chairs and a view of the golf course. Treatment and spa faciltes were good though theres no jaqoozi. Comfy bed! Negatives - Organisation, i had spa day and lunch, it wasnt explained about where lunch was or what was included i had to ask all the questions. I wasnt told the £15 limit for lunch so i went over and they then expected me to pay the difference but they agreed it was unfair. Room cleanliness, bathroom wasnt great, nail clippings on floor and 100’s of small hairs all around the bath after someones shave! Room was very warm and it wasnt even that hot outside, take a fan in hot weather! Food prices very high for what you get, nothing special! Took 30 mins to get my drink at dinner and 65 mins to get my burger and chips, apparantly staff were off sick and there was a new bar man who delayed drinks I wouldnt go back for the price you have to pay and what you get"

"The room had alot including a fridge, iron, iron board, cooling fan, hair dryer. The spa had an ice room steam rooms saunas heated pool and a few other spa treats I've forgot lol really good stay the breakfast is a buffet continental plus English breakfast."

"This is a lovely place, we stayed in the ‘cottage’ which was more like an annexe building and it had two rooms of which we occupied one. The room was good, we enjoyed breakfast in the dining room and the breakfast menu had a lot of choice too which was great. There were options for a full English style breakfast, but also options for cereals and fruits etc. We decided to try dinner at the hotel one evening and we were extremely happy with our choice. The food was excellent quality and very enjoyable. The hotel is a short walk into the centre, very close to the castle which is worth a visit and you can see the castle from the road you walk on from the hotel to the city."
