Achtis Hotel
"Another lovely stay at this beautiful small hotel. The staff are super friendly, every member of staff seems invested in the guest experience. Lilia and Christina in particular are always smiling and stopping to chat with guests, no matter how busy they are. I shared a room with a friend which was cleaned every day to a high standard, the decor is soothing and tranquil with really comfortable beds. There are always enough sun loungers, some in shade and some in the sun. The pool is lovely, a good length for swimming, but cool to just rest in too. We really enjoy the restaurant, lingering over breakfast (we are often the last to leave 🤣) soaking up the relaxed atmosphere there. We don’t always eat dinner there as we prefer going into the village early evening, but have enjoyed the food we have eaten at Achtis. We have already booked again for next June, one of the highlights of my year!"
Casa Afytos - Adults Only
"Could not fault this hotel at all. The rooms are stylishly decorated and very cool, even without the air conditioning on. The air con worked amazingly and there was also a ceiling fan to keep you cool if you don’t want to have the air con on all the time. It was well equipped and had a great, powerful shower. My fiancée and I paid extra for our own little plunge pool and it was perfect for dipping when it got too hot. Our area was also quite private with a long hedge blocking us from the main pool area. The main pool area itself is gorgeous. Super clean, quiet and relaxed with comfy sun beds and plenty of umbrellas if you want a bit of shade. The continental breakfast is lovely and just what you need with plenty of options and nice juices. There is a lunch menu with delicious options and also cocktails which are equally as delicious. The hotel is a very short walk into the town, probably 4-5 minute walk maximum and has a great selection of bars and restaurants (highly recommend Vouka for dinner). The service by the staff is another level, the receptionist/hotel manager could not do enough for us and was always accommodating and helpful, same goes for the cleaners. Room cleaned everyday and was always impeccable. We hired our own little boat for the day in a neighbouring town and the receptionist ordered our taxi for us, and even offered to drive us herself if he wasn’t on time! Overall, a beautiful small level hotel that caters for your every needs. If you want a peaceful, adults only hotel… this is the one for you!"
Lagaria Hotel
"Excellent hotel - super staff, really clean, good location. Food good though hot breakfast could be better. Only fault is that music plays loudly all day at the pool. Some quiet would be nice. Pool area is lovely. Not many English guests - very eclectic mix."
Rigas Boutique Hotel & Spa
"We booked this trip 8 months in advance for our honeymoon. Unfortunately, there was no information about what type of room we were getting, so I contacted the hotel directly shortly after booking to ask about it and the possibility of upgrading to a better room with a sea view or just a good room since there was zero information about it. I was told they didnt know either, but they would look it up and get back to us two weeks before arrival – but no one ever did. I thought that it would be great anyways since it is a 4 star hotel. When we arrived, it felt like we had been given the worst room in the hotel, and on the website it says "all rooms are updated".. well this room was outdated, ground floor, facing a noisy street. The bed was extremely hard, and the shower flooded the bathroom after just two minutes. Very bad standard. Not four star in any way. Staff added a mattress topper (more like a blanket), but the water issue remained unresolved. It rained for a few days wich is fine, but the cushions on the sunbeds were never removed – so even when the sun returned, they were unusable because you got soaked lying on them. On the positive side, the hotel’s location is stunning, with breathtaking views from the hillside. The breakfast was excellent, and the common areas were nice. Staff were kind, but overall we were disappointed that no effort was made to acknowledge our honeymoon, even though we reached out early and wanted to pay for an upgrade, to have an amazing time. It would have been nice if someone got back to us with information or whatever. The hotel restaurant was overpriced (€10 for a bowl of fries), if you want value for the money there are better options in the village. I've seen the previous reviews and can not understand the hype about the food in the restaurant... then of course we all have different preferences. The hotel has great potential, but the service and room experience didn’t live up to what we expected for such a special occasion or price to be honest. I think a four-star hotel should not even have rooms like that. Overall okey but nothing special except for the view."
Stratos Hotel
"Recently returned from a wonderful 2 weeks holiday at the lovely Stratos Hotel. Although everyone is entitled to their own opinion I feel I need to respond to some of the comments on previous review as I consider them unfair. THE WELCOME we received on arrival was very warm, professional and accommodating. Anastasia and Stella (and all the staff) could not have been more helpful and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our frequent chats with them. BATHROOM - the shower had non slip flooring and a towelling bathmat provided. As with a lot of bathrooms the floor is tiled so as long as you cover it before stepping out of the shower there should be no issue. The shower was great with plenty of hot water always available. BREAKFAST although as stated the breakfast was repetitive there was such an array of choice. Hot food choice of sausages and eggs/homemade pastries and pies, cereal, toast, homemade jams, cold meats/cheeses, fresh fruit yogurt and more. POOLSIDE DRINKS there was a sign by the pool and also details on information card in bedroom. When there is a poolside bar I wouldn’t dream of bringing own drinks to pool. LIBRARY - we found this an amazing addition to the hotel facilities. We have only ever stayed in hotels previously that just offer swapping books that other guests have left. There is a vast choice in numerous languages. We made full use of this facility. Afitos is a beautiful resort but it is very hilly and I feel if you have any mobility issues it wouldn’t really be the resort for you but maybe investigation before booking should have been looked in to. Our stay was wonderful even with 4 days of Storm Daniel. It is our 3rd visit to Afitos but first stay at Stratos. We were very pleased with all aspects of the hotel. It is in a fantastic location - 5 minutes walk into resort and 15 minutes to beach. Special mention to the cleaners who work tirelessly to keep hotel spotless. Bedroom was small but had everything you needed. Bed very comfortable. Towels and bedding changed almost daily. During our stay we ate out at 15 different restaurants which were all good - and still more to try! Beaches are beautiful - but difficult to get to if mobility issues. We had a fantastic holiday and will certainly be returning. Thank you Anastasia and team"
Elia Apartments
"2 weeks in Afytos as guests at this residence. Place is welcoming. Location strategic, near to the beach and also the center. Clean flat, even though bathroom was not large enough and burners of kitchen not modern (too slow to warm up). Nice swimming pool. Staff very gente. A good stay as a whole."
Stamos Hotel
"Great hotel. We visited at the very end of season when the season was ending and clearly the locals were gearing down after a busy season, but still the owner and the staff made us feel very welcome. The rooms are immaculate and modern, the pool area is also very nicely organised with comfortable sun beds and seating. Breakfast was great. The hotel is nice and quiet, but very close to the centre of the village. Afitos is a beautiful little village.. Very authentic with a lovely local primary school almost next door. Can't recommend this hotel enough, and hopefully we will be back soon."
