"Great location.Friendly staff. Comfortable bed and Iron provided in the room. BUT, I booked 2 x King bed room. One of the room's toilet not clean and water flow out very slow like flooded in the bath area. Basin got stuck and water flow out very slow also. Already inform reception. Hope Hotel can take note of that and repair soon. Exhaust fan in the toilet very lound and disturb sleeping quality"

"Not really good experience this time. Had to change rooms multiple times due to AC issues. 1st room ac problem its really hot and stuffy, changed rooms multiple times at 1am second room were slightly better and we all deadly tired n the next morning was raya. Raya day 1 also we then have to again change rooms as during the day we cant feel the ac my toddler wasnt able to get her night sleep due to sweat as its hot."

"I once stayed at this hotel as a stopover when driving into Thailand because I couldn't make it to the border crossing that night. They have a 24-hour front desk; it used to be staffed but is now self-service, which is easy to use. The bed in the room was comfortable, and the shower had great water pressure and plenty of hot water. Downstairs, there's a free hot/cold water dispenser, and in the room, there's an electric kettle, two cups, a small fridge, and a TV. There's a Lotus supermarket within walking distance of the hotel. If you're entering or exiting Thailand and it's too late or you're too tired to go home or cross the border, this is a great place to spend the night."

"The hotel is good for its RM220 price tag. The breakfast is not very good but acceptable. There are many food stalls nearby and it is close to Lotus’s. This hotel is more suitable for a transit stay and is not recommended for a vacation. A RM100 deposit is required upon check-in."

"Nice hotel near Pekan Rabu. Has breakfast buffet, but quite basic. There is a big and comfortable lobby, with welcoming coffee and some biscuits. There’s also a Alor Setar foodcourt right behind the hotel for more breakfast options, if you didnt opt for the hotel breaskfast. Room is dated, of average size with no balcony, twin room is bigger than double room. We didnt have a proper wardrobe in our room, only an open space next to the TV, to hang our clothes. The bed is ok, not too soft, pillows are quite comfortable; while the towels are not very thick/plush. A good choice if you wish to walk around to explore Alor Setar town. We walked all the way to the Masjid/Dataran Alor Setar in the morning when it wasnt too hot. Bathroom is quite dated, there was an issue with the drainage when we were there."

"Okay for the price, big room, but old facilities. The room had some hairs when I arrived. Inside it has a sports centre which includes a swimming pool you can use but you need to wear a swimming hat, which you can rent there for 3 ringgit."

"We had a wonderful stay at Star City Hotel for Hari Raya! As always, we look forward to staying here whenever we visit our hometown. The hotel is comfortable, convenient, and the staff are friendly. This time, our studio was very close to the air-conditioning compressor, which was quite loud – as a light sleeper, it made sleeping a bit difficult. We did request a room change, but due to the busy Raya period, no rooms were available, which we completely understand. Overall, still a great experience and we will definitely return!"
