"We would like to share our experience after spending one wonderful week at Windmill Hotel in Zakynthos. First of all, we would like to thank the hotel manager, who is also the owner. She is a very kind, polite, and welcoming lady. She genuinely cares about her guests and pays close attention to their comfort. Everything was excellent, especially the dinners by the sea, which were truly memorable. We would also like to offer two suggestions based on our personal experience, which we hope may be helpful. The first suggestion concerns the guest room doors. Since guests come from many different countries and cultures, people naturally have different habits. During our stay, some guests occasionally closed their room doors very loudly, especially early in the morning or late at night, which created a lot of noise. This could easily be solved by installing door closers on the room doors. Door closers prevent doors from being slammed, allow them to close gently and automatically, increase the lifespan of the doors, and also ensure that doors are never accidentally left open. Our second suggestion is about the airport drop-off and pick-up point. Because the entrance to the hotel is quite narrow, the transfer buses cannot enter the hotel grounds and have to pick up and drop off guests on the main road. The problem is that the main road is also quite narrow, and there is no comfortable or safe place for guests to wait. Sometimes the wait can be as long as 20 minutes, and standing in the hot sun can be very uncomfortable. Perhaps the hotel could set aside a small area of its land as an official Windmill Hotel Drop-off and Pick-up Point, with a simple shelter to provide shade. A sign saying "Windmill Hotel Drop-off & Pick-up Point" would also be a great form of advertising for the hotel. As far as we noticed, none of the nearby hotels have done this, so it would be an innovative and thoughtful improvement. Finally, we would like to express our sincere appreciation to the hotel manager and to every member of the staff. Thank you all for your kindness, hard work, and excellent hospitality. "The service attitude of the hotel front desk is very good. Zakynthos is not highly commercialized and it is difficult to get a taxi. The hotel provides taxi calling and car rental services, but the quality of the taxi drivers is hard to say. The ones my friend and I encountered were relatively poor. It is recommended to rent a car by yourself, which is more convenient. In addition, the hotel's garden view rooms facing the swimming pool cannot connect to the hotel wifi, and there is no signal on the mobile phone in the room, which is very inconvenient. The front desk explained that the wifi is too far away. The room decoration is a bit old, but the view of the swimming pool is great."

"I will start with the plus first. Hotel is very nice and the pool area and snack bar is excellent. The staff at the snack bar are very kind and polite and they always bring your food/drink orders over to your sunbeds if you wish. Prices are reasonable!! Breakfast is good if you are a meat eater, plenty of sausage and bacon. I'm vegetarian and I managed to eat a good breakfast most mornings. I'm not sure about vegans. The rooms are basic but the mattresses are very comfortable. The pillows need an upgrade and the wardrobe is just shelves with no drawers. The down side is the room we are located in. It's right outside the walkway to the reception so it is quite noisy at night. There's a quiet please sign in the hallway but nobody reads it or cares that there's people sleeping. It's not a private balcony as there are people constantly passing by. We had a call when we got to the room saying they wanted €110 for the air con as we flew with jet 2 (not sure what that meant) but my partner went straight there and paid it. The air con is needed so we didn't argue. seeing as we just wanted to settle in after a tiring early flight. Tourist tax was €55 for 11 nights. It seems like most, not all of the staff tend to make a fuss of the people who stay here often and after they get their money for tax and air-conditioning they don't need to be polite again. We stopped saying morning as twice now we spoke and got ignored. We visited kalamaki a couple of times as the strip is much nicer and people much friendlier. There's not much of a beach either so we didn't bother going after seeing how tiny it is (2 rows of sunbeds). There are a lot of nice restaurants on the plus side with very lovely staff. We won't be staying here again but if you do i hope you have a better experience than we are."

"Not recommended. Hotel, especially the bathroom is obsolete. Bathroom was not cleaned. Pool dirty, hotel beach disastrous. Toilet flushing does not work. Wi-Fi is not working. Air conditioning does not work. Already when entering an unpleasant mould / mould smell. Absolute impudence for this price."
