"Stayed here for 6 nights. Basically, it was like being right in the middle of a happening town! Love that there's delicious halal food nearby, beside Apple store (Pinhuiwei Muslim Northwestern Chinese)! The Bund is nearby, Adidas flagstore is there, Starbucks everywhere. Love the vibe here! Will I stay here again? Yes I will but Shanghai has to be the 1st stop in China because there's no self service laundry here. The only con in this trip, or else, it would have been perfect! Then I'll followed by Xi An then Beijing, as those two cities have free laundry! My last two days was the start of their May Day! The number of people walking through Nanjing Street was crazy, shown in photo! But, it was very orderly so everyone had a good time here!"

"Experience the charm of old Shanghai at this five-star hotel, which truly excels in attention to detail. I like to open windows for fresh air, and my initial room's window couldn't open. I contacted the front desk, and they promptly moved me to a new room. The room facilities are indeed quite dated; the toilet in the bathroom was surprisingly small, and I had to shower while standing in the bathtub. Despite that, my overall experience was positive. Every staff member I encountered was very polite, making me feel right at home."

"First off, the location is great. It's not too far to walk with luggage from Jing'an Temple Station on Metro Line 14, and it's just a block away from Huashan Hospital, which is really convenient. The common areas and breakfast are fantastic. The public space is huge and even has a pool table, feeling like an upgraded hostel. For breakfast, aside from the small noodle portions, the bread and congee were delicious. The only downsides are that the room is a bit small and the mattress is quite soft."

The Novotel Hotel Shanghai Pudong by Accor (Free shuttle bus) is one of the newest hotels in Shanghai, having opened in 2023. The hotel is conveniently located a short 13km drive from Shanghai Pudong International Airport. The closest major public transportation, Chuansha Metro Station, is only 1km away. Seeing Shanghai's sights from this hotel is easy with Shanghai Youlong Stone Culture Museum, Gokurakuyu Chuansha Hot Spring Resort and Chuansha Park all close by. At the end of a busy day, travelers can unwind and relax in the hotel or go out and enjoy the city. Guests of this Shanghai hotel can make use of the parking facilities. According to our trusted guests, the facilities at this hotel are first-rate. This hotel is particularly popular with those traveling with families.

"Great location if you are heading for Disneyland or has an early flight to catch the next morning. Otherwise it is quite far from Shanghai city center - JingAn area- with no traffic - 45 min taxi ride) The hotel offers free shuttle to Disneyland which departs the hotel at 7:20am; and returns to the hotel at 10:20pm. It was a bit late for us since we finished watching the fireworks at 830pm. (Disneyland closes at 9:30pm ). So we just took a taxi (very few people waiting and cost ~RMB50; while the online car service costs ~R30 but the waiting area was very congested. The free shuttle to Putong airport departs on the hour and starts from 4 or 5am and takes less than 30min. Need to book one day in advance at the front desk. Our 3 persons family room has a double bed and a proper single bed( not fold up bed). Spacious enough for luggages. The negatives - we booked and paid for 3 persons - but hotel only offered breakfast for 2. We booked 2 nights but only has breakfast for one day. Strangest arrangement I have ever seen. BF - has reasonable options of Chinese and western cuisine . Noodle Bar was the best. Night snack- also has noodle bar with dumplings and congee."

"It’s a great hotel for a couple nights’ stay. Although it feels somewhat dated (it really shows in such a hi-tech city as Shanghai) and the public spaces are cramped (the gym gives claustrophobic vibes when there are more than 5 people in it), especially considering the size of the building and number of rooms - it may suit well for a conservative traveller, or if you have to stay in this particular area, or simply if you enjoy being among European/South American tourists (I got an impression that locals don’t stay here). In a nutshell, the location is unbeatable, the breakfasts were good (half of dishes were westernized), staff speaks English and is helpful, the view from my room was breathtaking, nights were quiet. Some fresh towels were still stained, tho. Not good."

"🌟 5 points are great | Business trip party gospel! Shanghai Dashe lyf Hotel is too appetizing to me ✨ I came to Shanghai on a business trip and booked this one casually. It was originally convenient for transportation, but the result was a surprise. I really recommend it to friends on business or travel ~ The most satisfying thing is convenience! The surrounding traffic is very smooth. It is especially worry-free to commute to my office. There is no need to spend time on the road. The party on business trips really need this convenience. And the hotel is owned by Ascott, the style is very young, the walnut is with olive green, and some green plants are embellished. It is not dull. The lobby and corridors have a sense of design. It is good-looking and very aesthetic for our young people. Focus on boasting the room! The bedding is soft and the mattress is comfortable. You can relax and fall asleep after lying down every day. The sound insulation is also OK and will not be noisy. The most surprising thing is that the window can be opened. It has been raining in Shanghai for the past two days. I was worried that it would be stuffy. As a result, the window was opened for ventilation, and the damp feeling was much less. It was refreshing and relieved a lot of fatigue on business trips. There are actually three and a half meals of coffee in the room. I usually like to drink this very much. I just poke my kind of cattle and horses! The matching cups are also very simple, the value is online, I want to secretly take them back to the office, hahaha. The bathroom is separated from wet and dry, the hot water comes quickly, the water flow is stable, the focus is on the shower, the water is particularly comfortable, after a busy day to take a hot bath, the fatigue is washed away, the details are really in place. The hotel also has an open leisure area. After busy work, sit for a while and have a cup of coffee, which is more comfortable than staying in the room, not so closed, which is a plus. The overall situation really exceeded expectations. Convenience, appearance, and comfort are all online. Even the small details of coffee and shower are on my heart. I will definitely choose this one next time I come to Shanghai for a business trip. I have already recommended it to my colleagues who travel frequently!"

Jinjiang Inns is the budget brand from leading Asian hotel group Jin Jiang Hotels, and offers simple, clean, safe and comfortable rooms for business and leisure travelers.

"Had a great stay here. The environment was lovely, and I was even welcomed by a few birds when I checked in, which added a nice touch. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, with two pillow options provided, and the room felt cozy overall. The hotel is conveniently near the train station (~200m away), and the staff were very helpful in locating my parcels (Taobao) after a delivery was left in an unusual spot. They actually have a parcel delivery corner in this hotel :) Breakfast was decent, though it became a little repetitive over a 5-night stay, but there are also a few breakfast options nearby if you prefer eating outside. I would say 3-day hotel breakfast is sufficient unless I am in a hurry. Although the hotel name includes “Xintiandi,” it is actually around 1.5 km from the main Xintiandi area. Still, it is a good option if you prefer staying somewhere quieter while remaining close to public transport. I also enjoyed the nearby Lu One mall, which is worth checking out if you have time."

Sunshine Hotel is located southwest of the city center, about ten kilometers from People's Square. It is nine kilometers from the railway station and eight kilometers from Hongqiao Airport. This Shanghai hotel's variously sized rooms are equipped with telephones, televisions, safes and central air conditioning.Restaurants here serve both Chinese and Western foods. The Chinese restaurant serves delicious Hunan cuisine. For business people, the hotel has a business center offering photocopying, fax and word-processing services, as well as secretarial support. The hotel has a number of recreational facilities, ranging from the relaxing bar, shopping center, beauty salon and sauna to the entertaining karaoke and disco.

"This was my first time staying at this hotel, mainly because I had a conference at the exhibition center. It's conveniently located near the Hongqiao Road transportation hub, making subway access super easy. The hotel itself is decent, but it's quite close to the elevated highway, so the room noise was a bit of an issue. Everything else was fine though."

"This is an eager five-star review, starting with a special shout-out to Bernie and Grace at the Executive Lounge for their exceptional help and superb coffee! All the other staff were also very nice, and the desserts by the plump chef at breakfast were incredibly amazing. It was a perfect travel experience, full marks. Now for the specifics. From the check-in date, the experience was top-notch. For my 4-day trip, the front desk offered a room upgrade at the minimum extra cost, allowing my whole family to enjoy a full river view plus executive benefits throughout our stay. The rooftop swimming pool was fantastic; the water quality was perfect, and swimming naked at night didn't feel uncomfortable at all. My baby practically lived in the pool and executive lounge for several days. The breakfast was more Western-style, with unbeatable desserts. The ice cream and donuts were outstanding. The Executive Lounge is on the 28th floor, and lunch is à la carte. I highly recommend the foie gras and wagyu burger – absolutely fantastic. The beef was cooked to perfection, and the tenderness of the foie gras and beef complemented each other beautifully. For afternoon tea, there were various coffee options, and the cappuccino and iced latte I tried were both excellent. The light dinner in the evening was more than sufficient for a traveler; the creamy mushroom chicken stew, grilled sausages, and curry beef left a very deep impression. Finally, let's talk about the room and hotel environment. Kempinski perfectly replicated the essence of classic elegance. While the room facilities might seem a bit dated, the hotel redefined luxury with its tangible comfort. The room temperature was always just right, and the experience with personal garments, towels, and bedding made you unconsciously indulge in the luxury. Even the blankets by the pool were warm, truly embodying the idea of 'warm service.' Lastly, to pick a bone, I'll offer some limited suggestions as a guest: Firstly, with the economic downturn, family travel will gradually become mainstream. Breakfast could add some kid-friendly items like smiley potato fries, ketchup, and bolognese pasta, which wouldn't significantly increase costs. Secondly, the glass needs cleaning, especially the panoramic glass at the pool, as it affects the view. I can't come up with a third point because the experience was truly excellent. I hope they continue their efforts. As a long-established luxury hotel in the 'center of the universe,' it needs to uphold not only its style and culture but also persistent passion and warmth. I will definitely visit again. (The ice cream wasn't replenished; it was photographed after closing, which shows how popular it is!)"

CCiky2023Our romantic winter getaway began the moment we stepped into Dino Starry Resort, immediately feeling a warm welcome. Unlike a typical hotel's impersonal atmosphere, the staff here felt like old friends, making us feel right at home and completely relaxed. Getting to Disneyland was a breeze with their Mercedes shuttle, which departed at our pre-arranged time. Breakfast was plentiful, and our room was spotless and tidy. The overall environment was lovely, and there were even small animals in the backyard that we could feed for free. The biggest surprise, though, was experiencing authentic winter fun. We gathered around a traditional earthen pot stove, warming ourselves and chatting, or enjoyed a steaming hotpot cooked in a vintage hanging pot. On sunny days, we even had a lively outdoor BBQ with plenty of smoke and laughter. From the rustic charm of the earthen pot to the nostalgic feel of the hanging pot and the vibrant energy of the BBQ, this place had it all. Dino Starry is more than just a place to stay; it's a wonderful space where you can unwind, leave your weariness behind, and relive cherished moments. Come and gather with your loved ones here, and collect a whole winter's worth of warmth amidst delicious food and laughter!

DDingyuanyingI've stayed in many hotels for business trips and vacations, and most of them deserve five-star ratings, especially Mercure. This time, I came to Mercure Hongqiao Central with five-star expectations. Although there were fruit flies in the room and the shower drain smelled, I dealt with them myself and it didn't really affect my mood. That is, until I found out one of the elevators was broken. Waiting for the elevator felt like the morning rush hour in an office building during the week, and I even had to contend with the food delivery robots for space (the elevator still wasn't fixed after two days). Plus, I can't think of any high-rise hotel that only has two elevators. Additionally, I don't know if it's because my Ctrip membership level isn't high enough, but my request for a late checkout at 4 PM was told it would be charged. When I was a Huazhu Platinum member, it was never charged (in fact, there are only a few times a year I need to extend to 4 PM). They said I needed to re-activate my room card at the front desk after 12 PM, but after I had it swiped at the front desk, (and waited for the elevator for a long time) I still couldn't open the room door upstairs... My good impression was slowly worn away. Overall, this experience barely deserves three stars (I wouldn't have even remembered it if the hotel hadn't called afterward asking for a good review). Objectively, the view from the west-facing room was quite good. The golf course diagonally opposite was unobstructed, and there were no tall buildings opposite, so I wasn't afraid to leave the curtains open at night. I could also see planes taking off and landing at Hongqiao Airport. The location was also decent, with many dining options nearby, though it's quite far from the subway station.

GGuest UserStaying here when seeing a show at the Culture Square was really convenient. The single room offered great privacy, and everything was spotless. It felt like the bathroom was cleaned regularly by the staff. The best part was the shower in the single room had a wet/dry separation, so I could just put my clothes on a stool without needing a bag. There was even a glasses holder on the bed, which was a nice touch for someone with poor eyesight. The only downside was the constant construction noise in the afternoon, which was very disruptive.

CCarol Lim KHStayed at The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong for one night, and it was truly a memorable experience. We were two female travelers and booked a Skyline View Twin Room. The room was spacious, elegant, and beautifully designed, with a modern yet luxurious feel. The highlight was definitely the stunning skyline view—especially at night, the city lights created a breathtaking atmosphere right from the comfort of our room. It was a perfect setting to relax and unwind. The beds were extremely comfortable, with high-quality linens that ensured a restful sleep. The room was impeccably clean, and every detail reflected the hotel’s high standards. The bathroom was equally impressive, featuring a well-designed layout, a strong shower, and a generous bathtub, making the overall experience even more enjoyable. The service was exceptional, as expected from a Ritz-Carlton property. The staff were professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient. The location in Pudong is very convenient, with easy access to shopping malls, restaurants, and key attractions. It is an excellent choice for both leisure and business travelers. Overall, this hotel offers a perfect combination of luxury, comfort, and service. It was a wonderful stay, and I would definitely return in the future.

GGuest UserStayed here during the May Day holiday. The hotel's location is excellent; you can walk to the Bund, which saves you from holiday traffic jams. The breakfast quality is very good, and the room is clean and spacious. There are even cocktail tools and complimentary mixing ingredients and drinks in the room. The twin beds are 1.5 meters wide, much wider than the 1.2-meter single beds in many hotels, making it especially suitable for families with one child. The service is also very thoughtful. My child wanted to follow the delivery robot back to the room, and the staff patiently helped set it up. I'll definitely consider staying here again next time.

GGuest UserThe Peninsula Shanghai, nestled by the Waibaidu Bridge, the Monument to the People's Heroes, and the Bund, might not be described as 'convenient' in the traditional sense, but I found its location perfect for soaking in the unique Shanghainese vibe! The service here is wonderfully old-school and distinctively 'Shanghai' – unhurried yet efficient, demonstrating a clear and deep understanding of guest needs. The rooms are classic Peninsula style, with well-defined functional areas, superb soundproofing, and impeccable cleanliness and maintenance, putting my mind completely at ease. The dining experience was a genuine delight; both breakfast and the Cantonese restaurant in the evening were so memorable. I particularly loved the evening bath ritual – pressing the SPA button and immersing myself in the tranquil, ethereal music, it felt like I was back in a cozy island retreat! My two-day Peninsula experience was a solid 12 out of 10. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shanghai who wants to truly experience its unique charm!

IImyyjmI stayed in the Panorama Bund Retreat King Bed Room with Oriental Pearl Tower View. The panoramic views are unbelievably beautiful and can be enjoyed both from the room and the large bathtub. The window stretches almost the entire width of the room, with a large sofa beside it that allows you to sit comfortably and fully appreciate the skyline. The bed was incredibly spacious and comfortable, and the staff even brought scented oils to help with relaxation and sleep, which was a lovely touch. I must have arrived during a particularly busy period because the restaurant was always crowded and there was usually a queue for breakfast. However, on one occasion I was offered a takeaway breakfast box instead as I was in a hurry. As I do not have a Chinese phone number, I had difficulty ordering food from outside the hotel. Since the hotel had no halal and vegetarian options aside from one pasta dish, a member of staff kindly used their own phone to help me place an order and allowed me to reimburse them through Alipay. I thought this was incredibly thoughtful and helpful service. Even spending time in the hotel lobby felt relaxing, as the pink cherry blossoms outside the windows created such a beautiful atmosphere. The spa treatments were excellent and deeply relaxing. Lisa was fantastic and made the entire experience feel comfortable and welcoming. The in-room amenities were also wonderful! I loved the fragrance of the body lotion so much that I bought one from the spa before leaving. This has become one of my favourite hotels, and I already can’t wait to return.

GGuest UserThe Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund is undeniably the benchmark for luxury hotels in the Bund area! Its century-old architecture is steeped in history, and the central atrium and staircase evoke the charm of a British gentlemen's club, making every photo a vintage masterpiece. The exclusive concierge service, with Emily and Echo providing exceptionally attentive care, ensured a seamless arrival and departure experience. Our room boasted unparalleled river views, with floor-to-ceiling windows directly facing the Lujiazui skyline, making for a truly luxurious and comfortable stay. JjaspenI've wanted to stay at the W Shanghai - The Bund for a long time, and finally got to during my recent trip to Shanghai. It wasn't as perfect as I'd imagined. First, the good points: The environment is nice, and the cleanliness is decent. The staff are very friendly, and the breakfast offers a wide variety. The outdoor bar was the best experience. Now, for the less satisfying aspects: 1. Previously, when staying at hotels, you could contact scalpers or certain individuals on platforms to use their membership tiers for room upgrades. Since I booked in advance, I contacted them early about a possible upgrade. I was told that if there was an available room type on the day, I could be upgraded. However, on the day of check-in, they claimed there were no rooms available and didn't upgrade me. At the time, I checked the Ctrip app and saw that rooms *were* available. I'm a platinum member with upgrade benefits, and I still didn't get one. 2. My Ctrip booking included two complimentary drinks, but the front desk didn't provide vouchers during check-in. I only found out at the bar that I needed to go back to the front desk to get them. 3. I had a lot of things and wanted to use the black bag in the closet. Unfortunately, it was broken, and the hotel hadn't replaced it in time.
