"We stayed here for 4 nights with my family. The location is very convenient, as it’s not far from most of the attractions in Shanghai. There are convenience stores just below the hotel, and it’s within walking distance to Nanjing Road and The Bund. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They even prepared a surprise birthday cake for my mother-in-law, which was a very thoughtful gesture. We had breakfast for 4 days—although the selection was quite similar each day, the food was still enjoyable for us."

"I was extremely satisfied with this hotel! The service was so friendly. When I arrived late in the evening, they had hot supper waiting for me. The next day, after coming back from Disneyland, they thoughtfully prepared snacks and hot tea, and even waited for us at the Donald Duck parking lot. The room also came with a foot soaking tub and foot soak packets, which was a very considerate touch. Plus, there was a hairdryer and body lotion provided. The room itself was spacious, and the bedding was clean and tidy. There were also plenty of food options nearby, and ordering takeout was convenient. Traveling to Disneyland with my kids was completely stress-free. They even gave us little keychains when we checked out. All the front desk staff were incredibly polite. I'll definitely stay at this hotel again next time I'm in Shanghai."

Hotel near People's Square Area,Shanghai
Crowne Plaza Shanghai Nanjing Road is located in the city's popular People’s Square area along the tourist paradise of Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street. The majestic Bund, historic Yu Garden and popular Xintiandi eating and entertainment district are all within walking distance from the hotel. We are some 2.5 kilometers from Shanghai Railway Station, 15 kilometers from both Hongqiao International Airport and Hongqiao Railway Station, and 33 kilometers from Pudong International Airport, all by straight-line distance. The hotel offers 390 elegantly designed rooms and suites that offer exquisite comfort. Rooms are spacious and bright, with premium bedding and full amenities to help keep you feeling fresh and energized. On floors 3-5, the hotel boasts some 3,300 square meters of meetings and events space across 18 rooms and banquet halls of differing styles and specifications. As an international upscale hotel brand, we champion a new and better way of business travel that recognizes guests blurred and blended needs to achieve personal and professional success by staying productive, inspired and restored.

"The room facilities were definitely old, with several broken fixtures, but they were all promptly repaired. The upside is the room is large, which is great for families with older children as there's a separate sleeping area for them. The sofa was quite spacious, and there were two TVs. Plus, there's a sliding door between the living room and bedroom. They were also generous enough to provide a complimentary breakfast for the child. The location is super central, right on Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street. However, there's no parking discount for hotel guests. So, it has its pros and cons; it really depends on what you prioritize."

"First off, the location is great. It's not too far to walk with luggage from Jing'an Temple Station on Metro Line 14, and it's just a block away from Huashan Hospital, which is really convenient. The common areas and breakfast are fantastic. The public space is huge and even has a pool table, feeling like an upgraded hostel. "Great location if you are heading for Disneyland or has an early flight to catch the next morning. Otherwise it is quite far from Shanghai city center - JingAn area- with no traffic - 45 min taxi ride) The hotel offers free shuttle to Disneyland which departs the hotel at 7:20am; and returns to the hotel at 10:20pm. It was a bit late for us since we finished watching the fireworks at 830pm. (Disneyland closes at 9:30pm ). So we just took a taxi (very few people waiting and cost ~RMB50; while the online car service costs ~R30 but the waiting area was very congested. The free shuttle to Putong airport departs on the hour and starts from 4 or 5am and takes less than 30min. Need to book one day in advance at the front desk. Our 3 persons family room has a double bed and a proper single bed( not fold up bed). Spacious enough for luggages. The negatives - we booked and paid for 3 persons - but hotel only offered breakfast for 2. We booked 2 nights but only has breakfast for one day. Strangest arrangement I have ever seen. BF - has reasonable options of Chinese and western cuisine . Noodle Bar was the best. Night snack- also has noodle bar with dumplings and congee."

"🌟 5 points are great | Business trip party gospel! Shanghai Dashe lyf Hotel is too appetizing to me ✨ I came to Shanghai on a business trip and booked this one casually. It was originally convenient for transportation, but the result was a surprise. I really recommend it to friends on business or travel ~ The most satisfying thing is convenience! The surrounding traffic is very smooth. It is especially worry-free to commute to my office. There is no need to spend time on the road. The party on business trips really need this convenience. And the hotel is owned by Ascott, the style is very young, the walnut is with olive green, and some green plants are embellished. It is not dull. The lobby and corridors have a sense of design. It is good-looking and very aesthetic for our young people. Focus on boasting the room! The bedding is soft and the mattress is comfortable. You can relax and fall asleep after lying down every day. The sound insulation is also OK and will not be noisy. The most surprising thing is that the window can be opened. It has been raining in Shanghai for the past two days. I was worried that it would be stuffy. As a result, the window was opened for ventilation, and the damp feeling was much less. It was refreshing and relieved a lot of fatigue on business trips. There are actually three and a half meals of coffee in the room. I usually like to drink this very much. I just poke my kind of cattle and horses! The matching cups are also very simple, the value is online, I want to secretly take them back to the office, hahaha. The bathroom is separated from wet and dry, the hot water comes quickly, the water flow is stable, the focus is on the shower, the water is particularly comfortable, after a busy day to take a hot bath, the fatigue is washed away, the details are really in place. The hotel also has an open leisure area. After busy work, sit for a while and have a cup of coffee, which is more comfortable than staying in the room, not so closed, which is a plus. The overall situation really exceeded expectations. Convenience, appearance, and comfort are all online. Even the small details of coffee and shower are on my heart. I will definitely choose this one next time I come to Shanghai for a business trip. I have already recommended it to my colleagues who travel frequently!"

"Beautiful interior. If you enjoy Xiantiandi area, location is very convenient. Lots of bars/restaurants around. The amenities were great, however you really need to push the staff to provide it for you. I had to insist few times as their initial response was “we don’t have”, but after multiple requests magically they had everything you asked for. This aspect of service could definitely be improved. Otherwise, the stay was very pleasant and it’s for sure a great value for what you pay."

Sunshine Hotel is located southwest of the city center, about ten kilometers from People's Square. It is nine kilometers from the railway station and eight kilometers from Hongqiao Airport. This Shanghai hotel's variously sized rooms are equipped with telephones, televisions, safes and central air conditioning.Restaurants here serve both Chinese and Western foods. The Chinese restaurant serves delicious Hunan cuisine. For business people, the hotel has a business center offering photocopying, fax and word-processing services, as well as secretarial support. The hotel has a number of recreational facilities, ranging from the relaxing bar, shopping center, beauty salon and sauna to the entertaining karaoke and disco.

"Very helpful staff at the front desk and the room cleaning was very good. There's a 10-minute walk to the subway, not too bad. My main complaint would be the lack of breakfast options, it was good on the first day but after that it became less options for each day that passed. My other complaint was the small flies in the ceiling of the shower that started showing up after the 4th night. I wasn't so bothered by it right then and there but it is an issue that the hotel probably should take care of."

CCiky2023Our romantic winter getaway began the moment we stepped into Dino Starry Resort, immediately feeling a warm welcome. Unlike a typical hotel's impersonal atmosphere, the staff here felt like old friends, making us feel right at home and completely relaxed. Getting to Disneyland was a breeze with their Mercedes shuttle, which departed at our pre-arranged time. Breakfast was plentiful, and our room was spotless and tidy. The overall environment was lovely, and there were even small animals in the backyard that we could feed for free. The biggest surprise, though, was experiencing authentic winter fun. We gathered around a traditional earthen pot stove, warming ourselves and chatting, or enjoyed a steaming hotpot cooked in a vintage hanging pot. On sunny days, we even had a lively outdoor BBQ with plenty of smoke and laughter. From the rustic charm of the earthen pot to the nostalgic feel of the hanging pot and the vibrant energy of the BBQ, this place had it all. Dino Starry is more than just a place to stay; it's a wonderful space where you can unwind, leave your weariness behind, and relive cherished moments. Come and gather with your loved ones here, and collect a whole winter's worth of warmth amidst delicious food and laughter!

DDingyuanyingI've stayed in many hotels for business trips and vacations, and most of them deserve five-star ratings, especially Mercure. This time, I came to Mercure Hongqiao Central with five-star expectations. Although there were fruit flies in the room and the shower drain smelled, I dealt with them myself and it didn't really affect my mood. That is, until I found out one of the elevators was broken. Waiting for the elevator felt like the morning rush hour in an office building during the week, and I even had to contend with the food delivery robots for space (the elevator still wasn't fixed after two days). Plus, I can't think of any high-rise hotel that only has two elevators. Additionally, I don't know if it's because my Ctrip membership level isn't high enough, but my request for a late checkout at 4 PM was told it would be charged. When I was a Huazhu Platinum member, it was never charged (in fact, there are only a few times a year I need to extend to 4 PM). They said I needed to re-activate my room card at the front desk after 12 PM, but after I had it swiped at the front desk, (and waited for the elevator for a long time) I still couldn't open the room door upstairs... My good impression was slowly worn away. Overall, this experience barely deserves three stars (I wouldn't have even remembered it if the hotel hadn't called afterward asking for a good review). Objectively, the view from the west-facing room was quite good. The golf course diagonally opposite was unobstructed, and there were no tall buildings opposite, so I wasn't afraid to leave the curtains open at night. I could also see planes taking off and landing at Hongqiao Airport. The location was also decent, with many dining options nearby, though it's quite far from the subway station.

GGuest UserStaying here when seeing a show at the Culture Square was really convenient. The single room offered great privacy, and everything was spotless. It felt like the bathroom was cleaned regularly by the staff. The best part was the shower in the single room had a wet/dry separation, so I could just put my clothes on a stool without needing a bag. There was even a glasses holder on the bed, which was a nice touch for someone with poor eyesight. The only downside was the constant construction noise in the afternoon, which was very disruptive.

GGuest UserBack in Shanghai, after visiting Disney with my child, I experienced true five-star service from the moment the concierge opened the car door. Check-in at the front desk was quick and professional. I was especially thrilled to meet Jennie again at the front desk. Seeing that I had a child with me, she thoughtfully upgraded our room, provided kids' toiletries and a small bathrobe, and even set up a tent, which was a wonderful surprise and made my child very happy. Meeting Jennie actually made us feel like we were coming home, truly embodying the saying, 'You fall in love with a city because of one person.' This really rings true after staying at the Ritz. The hotel's location is superb, with lovely views, and a shopping mall right downstairs. The room was spotlessly clean, and the soundproofing was excellent, ensuring we had a great night's sleep. The facilities are, of course, top-notch – comfortable bedding and charming night views. But what truly made me remember this city was every smile and every perfectly timed act of care from the hotel staff. Looking forward to my next visit!

TTinawangnuoThis hotel is located right on the Bund, overlooking the Huangpu River. My room offered a stunning, direct view of the Pudong Lujiazui skyline, with the Oriental Pearl Tower, Shanghai Tower, and Shanghai World Financial Center all perfectly visible! Downstairs, you'll find the Jinling East Road Ferry Terminal and the Bund sightseeing platform, just a 2-minute walk to the Bund itself, and a 10-minute walk to Yuyuan Garden/City God Temple and the subway station. The front desk was incredibly responsive, and check-in didn't require a deposit. The complimentary afternoon coffee and pastries in the executive lounge were a lovely touch, as was the nightly fruit platter before bed. They even provided bath tub liners, which is something very few hotels offer – the attention to detail is truly impressive and thoughtful! Overall, my experience here was absolutely perfect!

GGuest UserThe Peninsula Shanghai, nestled by the Waibaidu Bridge, the Monument to the People's Heroes, and the Bund, might not be described as 'convenient' in the traditional sense, but I found its location perfect for soaking in the unique Shanghainese vibe! The service here is wonderfully old-school and distinctively 'Shanghai' – unhurried yet efficient, demonstrating a clear and deep understanding of guest needs. The rooms are classic Peninsula style, with well-defined functional areas, superb soundproofing, and impeccable cleanliness and maintenance, putting my mind completely at ease. The dining experience was a genuine delight; both breakfast and the Cantonese restaurant in the evening were so memorable. I particularly loved the evening bath ritual – pressing the SPA button and immersing myself in the tranquil, ethereal music, it felt like I was back in a cozy island retreat! My two-day Peninsula experience was a solid 12 out of 10. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shanghai who wants to truly experience its unique charm!

GGuest UserStayed at Banyan Tree Shanghai recently and had a mixed experience overall. The highlight of the stay was definitely the view — absolutely stunning and one of the best parts of the hotel. The room also felt modern with thoughtful touches like the automated Toto toilet system, which added a nice luxury feel. However, there were a few areas that fell short of expectations for a 5-star property. The shower water pressure was quite weak, which made it less enjoyable. More noticeably, the air conditioning didn’t perform well — even when set to 20°C, the room temperature stayed around 22°C but felt closer to 25–26°C. It became uncomfortable enough that I had to request a fan. Service could also be improved. I had 5–6 parcels delivered to the hotel, and while they were collected, the staff did not offer any assistance to bring them up to the room, which felt lacking in customer attentiveness. Additionally, during check-out, there was no effort made to ask about my stay or gather feedback, which was surprising for a hotel of this standard. In terms of facilities, the breakfast spread was above average and definitely in line with what you’d expect from a 5-star hotel — a good variety and quality overall. However, the room itself showed some wear and tear, with visible cracks in the sink, suggesting that parts of the hotel may be due for renovation. Overall, Banyan Tree Shanghai has strong potential with its views and amenities, but improvements in maintenance, service, and guest engagement would make a big difference to the overall experience.

GGuest UserThe hotel is beautiful, situated right on the bund. The breakfast is good and the beds are comfortable. My family and I were travelling through China for 4 weeks, and I booked this place for 4 nights, we usually like to stay in places where we can do laundry, here we had to use an outsourced business to get our laundry done as there are no laundry facilities close by and it would have cost us $500 aud to get our laundry done through the hotel. Just something to be mindful of if you are travelling with a family. However in saying that, the process of outsourcing was only made possible because of the assistance given by the hotel. I’m glad we booked it, the experience overall was great.

JjaspenI've wanted to stay at the W Shanghai - The Bund for a long time, and finally got to during my recent trip to Shanghai. It wasn't as perfect as I'd imagined. First, the good points: The environment is nice, and the cleanliness is decent. The staff are very friendly, and the breakfast offers a wide variety. The outdoor bar was the best experience. Now, for the less satisfying aspects: 1. Previously, when staying at hotels, you could contact scalpers or certain individuals on platforms to use their membership tiers for room upgrades. Since I booked in advance, I contacted them early about a possible upgrade. I was told that if there was an available room type on the day, I could be upgraded. However, on the day of check-in, they claimed there were no rooms available and didn't upgrade me. At the time, I checked the Ctrip app and saw that rooms *were* available. I'm a platinum member with upgrade benefits, and I still didn't get one. 2. My Ctrip booking included two complimentary drinks, but the front desk didn't provide vouchers during check-in. I only found out at the bar that I needed to go back to the front desk to get them. 3. I had a lot of things and wanted to use the black bag in the closet. Unfortunately, it was broken, and the hotel hadn't replaced it in time.

GGuest UserI had a fantastic stay at this hotel and I have to give special recognition to Ding Yu (丁宇) because she truly made the experience exceptional. From the moment I arrived she was warm, professional, and incredibly attentive. She handled check-in smoothly, answered all my questions with patience and went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect throughout my stay. It’s rare to come across someone so genuinely dedicated to guest satisfaction. She’s an absolute star. The rest of the team also deserves a shoutout. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, efficient and welcoming which really added to the overall comfort of the stay. The hotel itself is in a fantastic location. It is a very short walk to the Bund making it easy to enjoy the skyline and riverside views. Getting around was effortless with quick Didi rides to all the major attractions. The rooms were impressively spacious, clean, and well-designed offering a comfortable place to unwind after a day out. Overall, this hotel ticks all the boxes with excellent service, prime location, and great room quality. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the area!
