"Room so big, the bed is so comfy. Love the water pressure in the bathroom. The bathroom not that big, but not that small too. They provide towel, disposable face towel, shampoo, shower gel, hair dryer, mineral water, slipper, and tea. Air con can be use with warm mode and cold mode. There’s staff who can speak english. Reserve the shuttle for disney and airport if you need. Location just so so, no nearby convenience store, the nearest metro station is Lingkong Road. I took didi to the hotel it cost aroundCNY 17"

"The place was amazing in this price. Unfortunately, another CJIA exists nearby and I had trouble locating it on Gaode/AMAP. Most important: the hotel offers complimentary breakfast. Please don't fall for it. They order it from Mc Cafe nearby. So if you are a family and want more breakfasts, they would charge 20-22 Yuan per person, however, same meal at McCafe 50 metres away costs 9.9 Yuan. I am not being too critical but its an advice for everyone. . I was initially given a room which smelled strongly of cigarettes. I requested to change and thankfully they did."

It’s a busy street but located in walking distance of trains, many local restaurants and a short DiDi ride to main attractions. The service is great! Quick, easy and efficient check-in process. The desk staff were great in communicating expectations and the area to lead me. The bathroom areas are clean, showers within the areas. Blow dryers and sink amenities are present. "For this trip, I specifically chose the SUSHU hotel primarily because of its excellent location, being incredibly close to People's Square, The Bund, and Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street. It's just a 6-8 minute walk to these destinations. It's also convenient for visiting the City God Temple and Yu Garden, with a metro ride of about 15 minutes getting you right there. The hotel itself is well-equipped, very clean, and in a quiet area. The service is attentive, and the rooms are spacious. Most importantly, the price is really affordable. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to friends."

"First time in Shanghai, and this hostel is conveniently located in a building with easy elevator access. I stayed in a four-person dorm. The room was a bit small, but the natural light was decent, and having an en-suite bathroom was a huge plus. My main gripe is getting into the top bunk; the ladder design makes it quite difficult to climb, you really need to brace yourself to get up there. The front desk service was good. What I really loved was meeting people from all over China and even other countries, and the hostel hosted various activities. It really fit my impression of Shanghai as a diverse and inclusive city."

"Located within walking distance of Fangdian Metro Station (which is why I chose it), the Hi Inn is quite easy to find. The single person room was compact, but adequate. Very confortable bed, good water pressure, nicely designed room. Check in process is super easy. There are a few local restaurants just across the street (one of them was super popular with the locals and justifiably so). I could even find vegetarian food. Highly recommend if you need to be in this area or just want to be close to a metro station."

"This is the best hostel I've ever stayed in!! First, the location. It's right by the bar street, which is super convenient for going out and finding food, and you don't have to deal with the high prices of the city center. Great value for money. Next, the service. The two ladies at the front desk had an amazing attitude. They greeted me with smiles, patiently answered my questions, and even helped me get my favorite room. On my last day, I wanted to rest a bit longer at noon, and one of them gave me a late check-out for free... I was so touched! Then, and most importantly, the environment. Everywhere smelled lovely, and the facilities were comprehensive. The bedding was new and clean, and there were individual shower stalls fully stocked with various toiletries. They even thoughtfully provided hair ties for women, which really shows incredible attention to detail. It felt just like staying at home. Everything about this place shows how much effort they put into running it. It's truly a rare gem. I never write reviews, but my experience was so good that I had to. This week in Shanghai was absolutely wonderful. I actually had other plans to move to a different place, but it was so comfortable here that I couldn't bear to leave, so I extended my stay for two more nights, haha! Seriously, you have to stay at this hotel; it's one of the best in the entire country!"

GGuest UserThis was my first time staying in a hostel, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! I was in Shanghai for a concert, and hotels were too expensive, so I booked this hostel just to try it out. The location is superb – right by the Changshu Road subway exit. There are many coffee shops downstairs, and lots of old mansions nearby, with plenty of great places to eat, explore, and do some city walking~ After checking in, a staff member showed me to my room and helped explain the locations of the washrooms, toilets, and showers. The room also came with a set of disposable toiletries. In the common areas, there was always a cleaning lady tidying up, and the restrooms were disinfected after each use, which was incredibly thoughtful! It’s also very close to the Mercedes-Benz Arena, making it convenient to get anywhere! I got back after the concert close to midnight, and there were many girls in the washroom area removing their makeup. I didn't have to worry about safety at all. The female and male washroom areas are far apart, and I didn't see any male guests during my stay, which is great for female travelers. After 11 PM, the hair dryers are put away, and the outlets are locked, so no noise disturbs anyone's rest. The room was very clean. If someone with潔癖 (germophobia) thinks it's clean, then it's *really* clean. The bedding was very comfortable, and climbing to the top bunk was easy. The room wasn't big, but it was just enough for one person, which made me feel very secure. Regarding soundproofing, if you're a very light sleeper, I wouldn't recommend it, as there can be some noise. However, I personally found it fine; I slept very comfortably. I only heard people opening and closing doors, but not sounds from the adjacent rooms. The reception floor has facilities for picking up packages and food deliveries, as well as a common area to relax. It's on a high floor with a great view. There's also a self-service bar for drinks, which I didn't try this time, but I might next time~. Regarding age restrictions, it seems they don't host very young children or very elderly people, but unlike some other hostels, there's no 35-year-old age limit, which is also fantastic! This stay was so good that I almost didn't want to leave this little 'nest'~ I've always wanted to spend more days exploring Shanghai, and next time I visit, I'll definitely consider staying here again. I absolutely loved it! Finally, ending with a checkout photo, because a clean and tidy space is key for a hotel stay~

Yyj6549Aside from the location, which is decent and close to the Pedestrian Street and the Bund, the room was too small to put anything down. The price was quite high, and there was no restaurant. The food was like a delivery service; there were no chopsticks or spoons, and no real dishes, yet it wasn't cheap. If you plan to stay here, definitely skip the breakfast. The service was okay, but the soundproofing was terrible. Noise from upstairs, downstairs, and neighbors on all sides was constant throughout the night, seriously disrupting my sleep.

Turn to your left upon exiting and take a 5 mins walk you will reach the place. Food wise, there’s a noodle house nearby the traffic light, noodles and roast duck is delicious. Overall the service team is excellent, they are prompt to our needs and friendly help along the way. We had a great stay. Thank you

GGemiNOTthe1Not even a 15 minute walk from the closest metro station (地铁站). And there's so many restaurants nearby, including Shanghai cuisine. Plus, rideshare bikes are available (i.e. 哈罗, **, 和滴滴自行车). When I walked in, I was greeted by a very nice auntie who helped me at the front desk. She was very patient with my mediocre Chinese speaking skills and politely inquired about my travel plans. The elevator is in plain sight in the entry way, which is VERY handy if you just walked all those 15 minutes from the metro station or if you have heavy luggage. It also does not require you to swipe/scan a room key. The second floor is one long hallway. And the doors allow you to either type in a code or tap/swipe your room key. I never used the code, just the tap/swipe method. I highly recommend this hotel if you have mobility issues because of the lack of steep stairs, elevator access, and hallway layout. Just be careful hopping into the bathroom because of the large gap. After entering the room (see the pictures I attached), the vibes were pretty nice. Sleek, modern, and clean. I liked the floor level separation between the entryway and the bedroom area as well as the bathroom. Speaking of the bathroom, it has two pairs of slippers, which managed to fit my big feet (US Size 11-11.5 / China Size 46-47). However, as you can see in the images provided, the toilet is very close to the sink, with little space for you to spread out your legs. But I did not care because the water temperature changes so fast and you don't have to wait like 10 minutes like at so many other hotels. The toiletries provided in the room include one small bottle each of shampoo and body wash as well as two small rolls of toilet paper. Plus, they have two body towels, two hand towels, one medium towel, a hair dryer. There is more than enough storage space for one or two people. There's a closet with shelves and hangers in the bedroom area. Then there's a refrigerator, and then so much cabinet space in the entry area. If you need air conditioning or heating in the room, there is a white controller that connects to an AC unit affixed to the ceiling and upper wall area. The window curtains allowed for a deep dark sleeping experience, which I absolutely loved. The washing machine works well but has a small interior, so you may need to do multiple loads. If you don't understand Chinese, the labels correspond to different settings, which I recommend consulting. The one I used (春秋 / Spring and Autumn) was perfect for me when I was there in February. My only real critique is that the windows did not shut all the way and I had no idea of how to fix the issue. I forgot about it until the last day, though. Also, be sure to wear earplugs since the street noises are insanely loud if you have a road-facing room. I hope that this review gives a decent bit of context for even just one person!

Only one thing that can bother sensitive sleepers: the railway right next to the hotel. But as a sensitive sleeper, I found comfort in that slow train sound. The underfloor heating gave me the warmest, most comfortable night's sleep, and the duvet cover felt incredibly soft. It was my first time staying in a Shikumen building, and the courtyard was so unique and stylish. Both the courtyard and the room's interior design were absolutely beautiful. The unit I stayed in was located on West Yan'an Road, very close to Xintiandi and the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. It was perfect – I could just stroll back after dinner in Bei Li. Check-in was also a breeze. I saw that the host manages several other unique B&Bs, so I'd love to try them out sometime!
