"I upgraded to the Deluxe suite, which was very clean and spacious, making it ideal for a couple or more than one person. The staff, as always, was friendly, providing helpful information, and the breakfast was enjoyable. The only downside was that, because I stayed in a balcony room, the black birds living on the beach were somewhat annoying 😂. Otherwise, everything was fine."

"We initially booked for one day, but loved the hotel so much that we extended our stay. Everything was excellent – from the reception and check-in to the pool, beach access, and breakfast. Breakfast had a good variety and was served quickly. There are even squirrels hopping around the hotel! The pool is warm and convenient. There are sun loungers around the pool, and the sun shines directly overhead, perfect for tanning. Beautiful sunsets, and a beach nearby with loungers you can use if you order from the cafe, where you can relax and swim. It's close to the airport, making it ideal for a rest before departure or after arrival. The sea in Negombo was the warmest we experienced during our 3-week stay in Sri Lanka."

"We stayed at the hotel for one night before flying from Colombo to Russia. And it was the perfect choice! We were impressed with its friendliness, cleanliness, beautiful, cozy lounge areas, and spacious rooms! It's a great choice for a pre- or post-flight getaway! We were greeted from the very beginning upon arrival, our luggage was taken, and we were escorted to check-in. While we waited for our keys, we were given cold towels to cool down with and refreshments. It was the first time we'd encountered cold towels—just what we needed, as it was incredibly hot! We were upgraded to a Superior Room with a complimentary room view, which was very nice. Location: The hotel is 15 minutes from CMB International Airport. This is a definite plus, because the next morning we called a taxi and were at the airport in just 15 minutes. It's not on the ocean, but it's located next to a beautiful lagoon—the view is stunning! The ocean is an 8-12-minute drive away, and the same distance to a street with shops, cafes, and bars. Rooms: spacious, clean, with a wonderful balcony for the whole group! I'd call the shower a tropical downpour because of the incredible pressure! It has everything you need for comfort. A refrigerator is the only thing missing in the rooms. Amenities: The hotel has a pool, a restaurant, and a rooftop bar—everything you need. Food: We didn't include breakfast in our rooms because the Sasha food court was nearby, where you can eat for half the price. But we did have dinner on the day of our arrival at the restaurant, at tables on the shore of the lagoon—it was amazing! The view is like being in a fancy restaurant. The prices aren't exorbitant, but the quality of the food is average. The food is worse than in Viligama. The pizza tasted like it came straight from a ribbon, the steaks were a bit dry, and the seafood was a bit underwhelming. 😏 But we've already been spoiled by the good food in Weligama. Overall, the restaurant is perfect for a snack and cocktails with a great sunset view! The service: simply wonderful! Like a hotel in the Maldives)) They bring everything, help everyone, and don't even let you bring anything to the table yourself—they do everything for you. It was a real hit! Conclusion: this is a wonderful hotel for a getaway before or after a flight! A couple of days here is a great option."

"It's located 10 minutes from the airport, very convenient. The rooms are clean and have everything you need. However, there are no robes or slippers, which is surprising for a 4-star hotel. The buffet is decent; the dishes are mostly spicy, but you can choose something more European. There are plenty of desserts and fruits; the child loved them."

"Disappointed stay to be totally honest. The location is good, right on the beach and 20 mins from the airport. There is a pool and many restaurants around. The street doesn't have much to do, but if you want to stay and relax its a good option. Check in was 2pm even though its stated as 1pm online. The women at the front desk are excellent, very efficient and friendly, however the men are not. I wasn't impressed. Upon check out, nobody came to collect my bags. Food is good from ala carte. The bar manager is amazing. Very good customer service. The bed is comfortable, along with the pillows. Good shower and wifi. Nice balcony. The room has a mosquito problem and no robe or slippers in the room. Some problems exist however. In the hallway there is music and lights on 24/7. This disturbs sleep. Neighbours are noisy (not hotel fault). And people reserve sun loungers in the morning, even though they do not use until hours later. This is a problem. Overall I was a little disappointed with my stay."

"Very convenient hotel for transit stops. Near the airport, in the hotel - a restaurant on the upper floor, next to there are cafes and shops. There is a parking lot for the car. A spacious room, balcony, tea and coffee facilities. The only minus is the problems with the roasters, they are not enough for several gadgets, but it is a ”sick place” of many hotels. Breakfast in the Swedish table format is medium but hungry will not go exactly. Many fresh fruit. In general, we are pleased with the stop at this hotel and can recommend it to other travelers."

"I got off the plane late, because I had to go to the fish market in Niganbu early, and I specially set this place. As the first night of landing in Sri Lanka, the hotel was very good. The door is open sideways, not very obvious. The reception was very warm and I kindly exchanged travel advice when I checked out. The facilities are not complete, there are no dental appliances, the wooden door needs to be locked with a key, but it is very clean, and the bed table bathroom in the whole room is spotless. Bring a small restaurant with a bright window, go out to the fish market seven or eight hundred meters, close to St. Mary's Church. More cost-effective"

"This was my third stay at the Goldi Sands, honestly, the last time was nearly 20 years ago but I had such a great time back then I had high expectations. In the intervening 20 years, the hotel has had a revamp, double the size, double the number of swimming pools, added an elevator and they've removed the beach-fronted bungalows. All of which I think was a smart move and well worth doing. What has changed is the service and the catering. The staff are of course all very polite just that they didn't go the extra mile like they used to. We arrived late as our flight had been delayed, all I wanted was a couple of bottles of beer, they did arrive but I almost had to beg. I booked a taxi to the airport with the front desk, but they forgot, the waitresses at dinner were all about the hard upsell rather than serving. The breakfast as far as my memory serves me used to be awesome, today's breakfast is the same every day and lacks imagination, is poorly presented, and includes the worst coffee ever. The hotel has a confusing number of tariffs from all-inclusive to room only which means if you want to buy a drink it takes forever as they have to check your ”status” and then if you pay cash they have to go to the cashier as they carry no float. The rooms are a good size, clean and comfortable but basic. All in all it is still a good hotel to choose but sadly it is no longer in the memorable category."

"This place truly rejuvenates your body. It's a hotel, but it feels more like a sanctuary where you can cleanse both your body and soul. You wake up at 6 AM for yoga, followed by two and a half hours of Ayurvedic treatments daily, prescribed by a specialist. Evenings are dedicated to meditation. The therapists are excellent. I've had massages in many countries and am quite particular about therapist compatibility. While I did initially have one who wasn't a good fit, I was able to discuss it with the specialist and switch. The staff genuinely cares about our comfort. My 5-night, 6-day stay was enough to experience Ayurveda, but for actual treatment, two weeks would be necessary. I believe a month-long stay would allow for a complete cellular renewal of the body. If I were to ever develop a chronic illness or cancer, I would want to stay here for several months for serious treatment. Even to prevent chronic diseases and cancer, I feel it would be beneficial to come here regularly for a detox. Meals are therapeutic and prepared according to your dosha. Honestly, some Western guests complained about the food during my stay, but it's meant to be therapeutic. It's tailored to your dosha, eliminating foods that don't suit your body, flavored only with spices, and hardly any salt or sugar is used. Despite that, the presentation and taste are truly commendable. Over my 5-night, 6-day stay, I never had the same menu twice for any of the three daily meals. Even the fruit platters were artfully varied. Since no alcohol or coffee is served, it might not be ideal for those looking for a typical resort experience, but for anyone wanting to reset their body and mind, this is the perfect place."

"The photos shown do not differ from the actual hotel. This inn is close to the airport and offers easy access. The hotel and rooms are clean, modern, and stylish. You can relax in a quiet, peaceful environment. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, despite the reasonable price. There is plenty of hot water, and towels are provided. The lighting is a little dim, but this contributes to the relaxing atmosphere. It's a little too dim for a single person, so it's perfect for two. Eating is prohibited in the rooms, and cleanliness is maintained at the utmost. When I got my henna tattoo, the owner made sure the henna had dried. I guess he was worried about getting the room dirty, lol. It's clear that the owner is a very neat freak, and he carefully manages the entire facility. There's also a tourist cafe about a three-minute walk away, so overall, this is a safe and recommended inn."
