"Staying as a couple in this hotel for visiting family nearby. For the price range it is lacking attention for detail (only cheap shower gel, furniture getting worn out, breakfast tables not cleaned up) - a disaster was the bed - after 3 hours i woke up with back pain. I reported this to the reception next morning when it was staffed and they only thanked me for informing them. Only positive aspect for the quite high price was the decent and extensive breakfast buffet. Would not come back when visiting family here."

"The hotel is located just outside the city center (10 min walk to the city center). nice located on a lake and little park (walk around the lake is 2KM). There is a restaurant next door. Breakfast was until 12! and very good incl warm food as well. Room was spacious and get a room with lake view. "

"Nickisch Hotel and restaurant is a 3rd generation family owned hotel near the border of Netherlands, just off the 30 Autobahn in Schüttorf. Our check in and reception by Elmer was efficient and lovely. Elmer really went to the next level to look after us. The room was nice and clean with the afternoon sun on the balcony. I had the pork schnitzel for dinner at the restaurant, it was very nice. The restaurant had a brilliant menu of diverse spoils and wines. Thoroughly reccoment this place for a stopover."

"What kind of hotel is this? Bar is closed, restaurant is closed, only accessible for breakfast. After 7pm(!) you need to do your best to get back in the hotel, and in your room: go down an alley to the side of the hotel, climb some outside stairs, where there is one door open, that will take you down some stairs, through the indoor pool, down some stairs, and up some stairs to get you back in the lobby... ***... Why is there no one in the hotel to welcome you in the evening? The reception is supposedly open until 10pm. An old guy said yesterday "I am locking this door, and am going home!" - how can your slogan be "we love our guests since 1885", when you clearly do not? PS: do not be confused with the photo of the castle - that is NOT the hotel!"

"With our family in 2 bedrooms night. Easy to reach, good parking with 1 place to load electric cars. Friendly staff, also speaks Dutch. Wifi is good, breakfast was extensive and good. Overall good hear , surely for the money you paid for it. Improvements: cover bed overlay and towels are on replacement. Beds a little hard. Awful light in bathroom. Hearing but not having any trouble, Simple decoration"
