The Revolution Hotel

The Revolution Hotel

📍 40 Berkeley St, South End, Boston
★★★ 9.3 (242 reviews)

"The room got some smell when we did our checking, but overall good. The shared bathroom is clean and provides many amenities more than enough. Parking discount is available at arrival; be sure to check it out."

Encore Boston Harbor

Encore Boston Harbor

📍 1 Broadway, Everett
★★★★★ 9.5 (215 reviews)

"The room was elegant, tastefully decorated, spacious, and well-equipped. The cleanliness was excellent, and the hardware exceeded expectations. However, one lady at the front desk had a very poor attitude; she seemed to look down on people, almost to the point of discrimination."

Citizenm Boston Back Bay

Citizenm Boston Back Bay

📍 408 Newbury St, Fenway Kenmore, Boston
★★★★ 9.4 (141 reviews)

"Our stay at the CitizenM Boston Back Bay was great. The staff is professional, friendly and courteous when assisting. The location is excellent for those who visit their college student. The room itself was comfortable and very high tech! The food was also good. There were only a couple of things I found that needs improvement: 1. Is to provide us with hand towels/washcloths. We only had two bath towels and no other towels to use when washing our hands. 2. We found that there were several strands of hair on the bed."

"The bathrooms are so clean and my family love it so much. The staffs in the front desk are also so kind. And the location is perfect, really close to the Boston common and the freedom trail. Love it and will book it again in the future!"

"The place was nice and clean. Enjoyed having the bar and open co-working space. The rooms were really cool with lighting and felt modern. The only thing I hope they will improve is the pillows, both the firm and soft pillows are not great. For longer stays I would try to double stack the soft pillows."

AC Hotel by Marriott Boston Cambridge ★★★★
"Worst Marriott hotel I stayed at. Receptionist requires a US telephone and zip code in order to register Marriott member which is impossible for a non-US traveler. They’d come clean your room at 8am in the morning. They tell you wrong breakfast time so you miss it…can’t believe it."

Irving House at Harvard ★★★
"The room was cramped, a typical guesthouse-style hotel, and not very cost-effective. The hotel was converted from an old wooden villa, with extremely poor soundproofing, especially the loud sound of running water in the bathroom. The carpet looked quite old, its original color unrecognizable. The bathtub was very small; if you weren't careful and filled it with too much water, it would overflow as soon as you got in. Since there was no floor drain, the overflowing water immediately seeped into the basement below. Then, an elderly staff member angrily knocked on the door, blaming us for not using the shower curtain, claiming it was the cause of the leak. In fact, they clearly knew that there was a leakage problem in the bathroom itself, but they deceived themselves and used a sticker saying "Please pull the shower curtain when taking a bath" to "solve" it, passing the responsibility to the residents :) The room was quite cramped, feeling more like a small guesthouse than a hotel, offering poor value for money. Converted from an old wooden villa, the soundproofing was extremely poor – especially the sound of running water in the bathroom, which was unusually loud. The carpet looked rather worn, its original color no longer discernible. ba*****t below. Soon after, an elderly staff member knocked on our door angrily, scolding us for not pulling the shower curtain while bathing, which he claimed was the cause of the water seepage. In truth, they clearly knew the bathroom itself had a leakage problem. Yet they resorted to self-deception by putting up a ‘Please Pull the Shower Curtain While Bathing’ sticker as a ‘solution’, simply shifting the blame onto the guests :)"
