"An attractive hotel in a former imperial complex (a library or something like that) offering large, clean rooms. It's up on the side of a hill but taxis/rideshare will take you to the front door. Also it's very close to the town center and is a short ride to the temples that are of interest in Chengde. They have a decent breakfast at the onsite restaurant, and a dinner service featuring local dishes that are supposed to be similar to what an emperor might have eaten. So you can dine like an emperor, for a fee. The large deer roaming the grounds stare at your with the big, sad eyes, obviously looking for a handout, but don't fall for it as there's plenty of grass. There was some construction going on, seems the buildings are being refurbished, but it did not really interfere with our stay. Signs in English and English-speaking staff at the front desk."

"Service: This hotel never ceases to amaze me! From the moment you step into the lobby, you can feel its high quality and professional service. Facilities: The room is spacious and bright, with all facilities available. Hygiene: The room is clean and the bed is super comfortable. The staff members Xiao Sun, Xiao Zhang and Xiao Cao are warm and courteous. They always meet my needs at the first time. They truly think about what the guests want and pay attention to their concerns, making them feel at home. Environment: The hotel has an elegant environment, exquisite decoration, clean and tidy rooms, and thoughtful details. The catering is also very delicious and rich in variety. The service was impeccable and gave me a warm feeling like going home. Both the hardware facilities and software services are top-notch, the rooms are stylishly decorated, and all the equipment works well. The price is also very reasonable, the location is convenient, there are many restaurants around, and the price-performance ratio is very high. The hotel staff are very professional and friendly, which made me spend a wonderful time here. I am very satisfied with my stay here and highly recommend this hotel!"

"The Chengde Hotel boasts an excellent location, being close to all major attractions and making taxi rides very convenient. There are also plenty of restaurants, fast food options, supermarkets, and a night market nearby. The front desk kindly upgraded our room from a 1.2-meter bed to two 1.5-meter beds. While the room felt a bit snug with the larger beds, the improved sleep quality was definitely worth it. Much appreciated! We were offered complimentary almond tea on our first night, which was delicious! On the fourth floor is 'Chengde Feast,' the hotel's restaurant, which offers a good selection of dishes. Their renowned lamb soup and 'Intangible Cultural Heritage Lung Meatballs' are even available at breakfast, so you can save space when ordering dinner and try other specialties. The staff at Chengde Feast were incredibly welcoming and considerate, offering helpful dish recommendations. We enjoyed dinner there on both evenings and were very satisfied! When we returned from sightseeing on the second day, our room had already been promptly cleaned. The unlimited mineral water was a fantastic perk! Upon check-in, I connected with the front desk via WeChat, and they immediately sent useful local information and sightseeing route suggestions. As I didn't require further assistance, I didn't get to experience more of their personalized one-on-one service. If I had to point out a minor drawback, the wet/dry separation in the bathroom was good, but the shower stall was too small to hang clothes or towels. We had to place them outside the shower, which was quite inconvenient for a twin room. I would likely choose Chengde Hotel again on my next visit to Chengde. I hope the hotel's service truly prioritizes guest satisfaction rather than simply aiming for good reviews. The 'Weng Yuda mailbox' in every room already reflects their commitment to service, so simply maintaining their high standards would be perfect."

"Very big and cosy room in a very nice location, Western style and very new. I stayed only two nights and was very satisfied with everything. The hotel staffs were very nice and kind. Also made sure to understand a day earlier at what time I was going to arrived so my room could be ready me. Breakfast was very much ok a mixture of Chinese and a little bit of western."

"Our first visit to Chengde left us with a truly wonderful impression, starting with the warm welcome at the hotel's front desk. Though the hotel entrance isn't grand, the service provided by the two young ladies at the front desk was absolutely five-star caliber. They patiently explained potential itineraries and offered incredibly thoughtful service. The front desk even upgraded our two rooms and thoughtfully arranged for us to stay right next door to each other. While the rooms aren't spacious, they are fully equipped and very cozy. Housekeeping, in particular, was exceptional; even the remote controls had fresh protective film. The genuine warmth and thoughtfulness of the local people made us feel incredibly comfortable. Chengde truly lives up to its reputation as a welcoming city rich in history and culture. We'll definitely be back for another visit!"

"The hotel's location is superb, making it incredibly convenient to reach all attractions. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming! Breakfast offered a rich variety and superb quality. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was also fantastic; the food was wonderfully cooked and delicious. Even as a Southerner, I found the flavors perfectly to my liking! The cleanliness was also impeccable. This hotel is undoubtedly the top choice when visiting Chengde, and its number one ranking is absolutely justified!"

"Love this place ! Stayed 3 separate times. Once last year and twice this year. Nicest hotel so far in china I’ve been to. Honestly can’t beat this hotel for the price. I went before the 7 day holiday and during it. Was way more expensive during it but still amazing Modern, friendly, great bathrooms, customer service and an insane breakfast Wife mentioned we are repeat customers and they gave us free spa coupon which was great."

"I want to say that this is the most comfortable hotel I have ever stayed in. I brought the elderly and children to Chengde for a May Day trip. I stayed in Tianbao Holiday for four days and three nights. I arrived at 11 noon on the first day and arranged for early check-in. The welcoming guy helped us drag our luggage to the room. Every service staff we met took the initiative to greet us with a smile. There were obvious signs on the steps, and the service staff reminded us to pay attention to safety. On the 11th floor where we stayed, the waiter Liu Fengxia took great care of us in the past few days. We were fed snacks every day. When it was hot, we took the initiative to put a few more bottles of mineral water in the room. There was also white fungus soup to relieve internal heat every night. All the details touched us and made us feel like we were home. When we left, they also prepared food for us on the road. I also recommend Tianbao's main meal. I ate it for two consecutive days. It was economical and tasted great. I personally think it was better than the restaurant recommended on Dianping. The elderly and children said that the happiest thing about this trip was staying in Tianbao Holiday. They will stay here when they come to Chengde in the future."

"New hotel, with spotless facilities and friendly staff. It's very close to the Chengde South Station, which is handy for high speed trains - though is a bus ride or taxi ride away from downtown Chengde and the Mountain Resort area. (Bus 29 takes you down there, but takes a while). Breakfast was good, and there are snacks in reception wheel you come back. The restaurant is only open in the morning - no bar/other facilities, but there are places to eat/shop nearby, though the area feels very new and developing. It was a great choice for me as I came in and out of Chengde South Station and I used the hotel as my base."
