"Spent the weekend in Hebei, with Chengde as our first stop. We checked into the hotel a little after 1 PM, and the place was bustling with guests โ€“ apparently, there were three wedding banquets going on. When we left the hotel around noon the next day, there were another two wedding receptions happening. A local friend told me that Zhaofeng is considered the best hotel in Chengde, and hosting a wedding or any banquet there is a huge status symbol. It's not particularly close to the Summer Resort, so you'll need to take a taxi to get there."

"The most surprising thing about this hotel was its prime location. A large shopping mall is just a 5-minute walk away, making it incredibly convenient for dining and shopping. There are also several local specialty restaurants nearby, allowing you to enjoy authentic local flavors without having to search for guides. The Summer Palace is also just a few minutes' drive away, saving you the hassle of traveling long distances. Although the hotel isn't new, it's well-maintained, and the rooms are clean, tidy, and comfortable. The front desk staff (Team 801) were particularly friendly and helpful. They proactively provided directions to nearby attractions upon check-in and responded promptly to any inquiries. The breakfast selection wasn't extensive, but it was generally quite good, with a focus on Chinese cuisine. Also, the hotel has its own parking lot, making it extremely convenient for those driving, eliminating the need to worry about finding a spot. Overall, it's a great value and I'll definitely stay here again!"

Even though it was past check-out time, she still let us go back to shower, so we could continue our journey feeling refreshed. The hotel's location is excellent; it's just a two-minute walk from the hotel exit to the ticket office."

"The environment is beautiful, a true feast for the eyes and a perfect place to relax. It's wonderful for some alone time. There's a pool on the third floor where you can swim while enjoying the lush green mountains and trees, as well as the stars in the sky. Outside the courtyard, you can barbecue and fish. Downstairs, there's a mahjong room and a cozy reading nook. I stayed for two days and didn't encounter any mosquitoes. The room was clean, and the bathroom had a wet/dry separation. Looking out the window at the vibrant green trees instantly lifted my mood. You can even see the sky through the roof! There's a bar area where you can enjoy afternoon tea. The noodles made by the owner were delicious, and the afternoon tea was great too. The cleaning lady was very friendly; she even offered to take me on her e-bike to explore the nearby scenic spots if I visit again. When I checked in, it was raining, and the owner drove me to the station. My first impression of Chengde was fantastic, and I'm already looking forward to my next relaxing trip here."

Breakfast was abundant and delicious, and the gym and pool facilities were excellent. Free parking was a huge plus.
